Premier League fixtures announced for 2018/19

The Premier League fixture list for 2018/19 was released today at 9am, giving Fantasy managers an early idea of which teams to target in the opening few Gameweeks.

Manchester City’s initial fixtures particularly stand out: the reigning champions begin with an away trip to Arsenal before they encounter all six of the sides promoted from the Championship over the last two seasons.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea only meet one of their fellow “big six” clubs in their opening half-dozen fixtures, meanwhile.

Newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers (EVE, lei, MCI, whu, BUR, mun) and Fulham (CPL, tot, BUR, bri, mci, WAT) have mixed starts, while Cardiff City have a decent trio of matches (bou, NEW, hud) to begin with before their fixtures toughen considerably: the Bluebirds then face six of last season’s top seven in their subsequent seven matches.

Wolves and Cardiff also have tricky-looking final-day encounters away at Liverpool and Manchester United respectively.

Southampton and Everton assets might be among those to consider in the opening months of the season: they are the only two clubs not to play any of last season’s top six sides in the first five Gameweeks.

    Almuaiouf - Uzoho

    Meunier - Granqvist - Varela - Mojica - Sabaly

    Muller - James - Willian - Cueva - Meza

    Cavani - Greizmann - Lukaku

    Obviously budget keepers, but I actually slightly favour Almuaiouf (Saudis vs Egypt) than the El Kajoui against Spain in GW3.

    I'll start both Meza and Cueva and sub one of them out for James before COL play.

    3 - 4 - 3 system.

    Anything drastically wrong?

      I don't understand your reasoning though. There's two whole weeks before GW3 to worry about first and El Kajoui has Iran in GW 1

    Kimmich, Meunier, Miranda, Verela, Mojica
    James, Eriksen, Cueva, Honda, Aldawsari
    Cavani, Kaku, Jesus

    Biggest concern is no Muller but Eriksen gives me a good captaincy option on all match days in the group stage.

    Isnt GW1 a great time for Maximum Captain? Many of the big teams are playing with weaker opposition (uruguay, belgium, germany, france, colombia) If say I have lukaku or neymar and kimmich or meunier or James does much better ( and high chance that they will) isnt it a good idea to guarantee your best points on this particular week ?

      Not really compared to later.

      Imagine it's the semi finals and you only have 2 shots at captain and like 5 German players. If say Kimmich scores and you captained a dud Werner you're completely SOL compared to in GW1 where you can hopefully twist to someone who will score big 5 bites at the cherry vs like 2
