Best Crystal Palace players to sign on FPL in 2018/19 – Complete Members’ Analysis

Crystal Palace look set to be a source of effective budget options in the early part of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Eagles favourable fixtures in the first nine Gameweeks, combined with some impressive underlying numbers towards the end of last season, mean there are viable options to consider in defence, midfield and attack.

Under Roy Hodgson, Palace made improvements in more than 20 key areas last time out compared to 2016/17, and that is expected to continue into the new campaign.

That data is available to Fantasy Football Scout members to look at in the Members’ Area, and they can also read our in-depth analysis of it in the article below.

Any 4.0m defenders fighting over the same spot? Be handy.

Not really. Budget players are the players you don't want to double up on. Most notably budget defenders, since they are more common.

If you have 3 main defenders and one is injured, you don't want a 4.0 against Man City coming on for any of them. The guarantee of naileness means nothing. And then what happens if 2 defenders don't play? Nightmare.

Also, a more minor point is that if you ever had to (or wanted to) use them in your starting 11, you could never rotate them. Similar to above, you've lost a player to choose a fixture from. You've chosen to have one dead 4.0 when there are playing 4.0s available. Sounds suboptimal to me 😉

This question has been asked before but I will ask it again.

If you could choose one which would it be?

England to win the World Cup or your club team to win the PL

Most went for their club to win the PL when asked previously.

I don't support England, nor do I feel strongly about PL clubs, so it doesn't apply 😛

But in an equivalent situation, I'd take the world cup over my team winning its national league.

Still think I’d like to see the gruesome twosome go down south (not PL, 7th/8th tier initially).

Sure Scottish game would lose loads of money but the excitement for the remaining fans would go through the roof!

Rangers going bust was probably their best chance, doubt it will ever happen but I wouldn’t mind it.

For me England. The World Cup is only once every 4 years, the domestic title is every year.

And nothing unites the country like your national team doing well. People will be on the streets hugging strangers. You don't get that with club teams.

interestingly Bobby Reid is classed as a midfielder in the Sky game , so i put together a midfield with Reid Zaha and Jota in it , who are all potential oop forwards , the flip side is my actual forwards are midfielders in Salah & Sanchez , so its a bit of a back to front team 🙂

Statistically, which does better over a season? A cheap 4.5 GK or someone like DDG?

Thinking if realky skimping on defence

    1. Sif

DDG gets you more points, but picking the right 4.5 last season eg: Fab or Pope would have netted you more points per million spent.

I'm tempted too, but there are two issues: that we're unlikely to pick 4 totally nailed-on players given the inevitable rotation, and that we have to settle on our squad now because if we want to make more transfers we'd have to take a City player out.

Nice idea, however any injuries in GW1 and instead of transfering out the injured player the system would force you to transfer out one of the city guys.
Any keeper would do so if you really keen then just the other Three

Can't answer because I'd never buy Barnes and am not going without Salah.

      A) Salah will first have to prove his essentiality in pre-season.

Mahrez for only 60 million 🙁

I hope the addons are generous or we've been fleeced

You got him for £500k didn't you? Decent profit. Just play Damarai Gray in his place.

400, but yeah, good profit. I think we'll play Gray on the right now, but Albrighton shouldn't really be starting much anymore. I dearly hope we get a decently creative left mid to ease Maddisons burden creatively. Still, Mahrez is absolute quality, and 60 mil is not what he is worth imo. Just because we're "small"
... Now that he has got his move he will have such shining form that he will relegate Sterling to the bench after a while, methinks.

He's my current (C) too! Don't listen to the haters, they'll be chasing points when he bags a 14pointer on GW1

The clubs that Croatia's first XI play for are decent to be fair:

Monaco, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Mlian, Inter, Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid.

Rebic (Frankfurt) and Vida (Besiktas) the only two players at lesser clubs. And they both look to be on the move to big clubs.

Englands players are usually mostly bit-part players in their top clubs, too 😉

      England aren't bad:

Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs

Couple at lesser clubs - Pickford (Everton) and Maguire (Leicester).

    Holgate nailed for Everton?

Williams & Keane weren't impressive last season, Jags is 36 in August. Mori's gone.

Is it bonkers to have a 4.5 def, 5 mid, 4.5 fwd as rotation for last spot in plating 11?

No, but keep in mind it's just the 5.0 mid and the 4.5 def. Kamara is the only potential starter i can think of and he should be replaced in the starting 11 soon.
