Best Crystal Palace players to sign on FPL in 2018/19 – Complete Members’ Analysis

Crystal Palace look set to be a source of effective budget options in the early part of the 2018/19 campaign.

The Eagles favourable fixtures in the first nine Gameweeks, combined with some impressive underlying numbers towards the end of last season, mean there are viable options to consider in defence, midfield and attack.

Under Roy Hodgson, Palace made improvements in more than 20 key areas last time out compared to 2016/17, and that is expected to continue into the new campaign.

      Absolutely, don't forget DDG and Otamendi too. My strategy is to go the entire season ignoring premium defenders and goalkeepers, and then complain about 'casuals' when I lose 😀

          That is what I keep being told about Burnley.
          My argument is it could be a help early on for team cohesiveness/togetherness/fitness.
          I actually had double Burnley defence in my drafts until recently, but thought that is over kill and Wood is enough Burnley.
          I love those mid-price type value players they can easily be switched to another mid-price if they flop.

            Yeah Wood's points per game per million last year was very good when compared to other forwards. It could go either way when it comes to the EL- either they will be sharper due to having played competitive games or tired.

    Here’s what I think I’m going with for the first few weeks:

    Ederson (Stekelenburg)
    Keane Tarkowski Tomkins Daniels (Cedric)
    Salah Sane Mahrez Deulofeu (Cairney)
    Aguero Firmino (Quaner)

    Current dilemmas are:
    1. No premium defender. Really want Robertson or Alonso.
    2. Is Deulofeu nailed? I didn’t reallly monitor Watford last season but his minutes seem sparse.
    3. Addressing 4 MCI issue later in the season. (Low priority)
    4. Wanting Aguero+Aubameyang+Salah+Sane+Mahrez by GW3

    Any ideas for those dilemmas? I think downgrading Deulofeu to Stephens would be a real easy move for budget, maybe downgrading Ederson as well. However, Deulofeu is priced really nicely and City are bound to rack up CS at the beginning of the season...

        Really want to start with Aguero+Salah+Sane+Mahrez. Planning to get Aubameyang later. 4 MCI because those fixtures are too good to pass up early, planning on shifting one or two of them out (most likely Ederson and Mahrez/Aguero) as the season progresses around GW 3/4

      You aren't getting a premium defender AND Aguero, Aub, Salah, Sane, and Mahrez without having garbage as your other two mids and forward.

      You can't have 4 MCI players in your team.

      Deulofeu is an awful choice.

        I think Cairney and Deulofeu could be good picks. Cairney has made it into almost all of my drafts. Why is Deulofeu an awful choice? I’d happily downgrade him.

      Just glanced at it.
      In order to get Robertson I would get d silva in for mahrez and change one of the burnley lads.
      Or you could get siggurdson.
      Alternatively you could get Foster for Watford if he is 4.5 and get the 1m that way.
      Fabianski is the current fav FFS 4.5 keeper of course.
      Deulofeu is a mystery with thier new signings.
      Other oprions
      Cairney safer choice and cheaper.
      Jota from wolves is popular and can play OOP.
      Costa is 5m was on form end of last season.
      A.Lennon is the cheeky pick for Burnley at 5m.
      A couple of the Bournemouth mids are 5.5 ibe/frazer

        3. All 4.5 GKs have rough fixtures and bad defenses. I’d most likely downgrade to Pickford/Leno.
        4. Yeah very iffy on Deulofeu.
        5. Going to wait before I buy into a Wolves player for 6.5
        6. Costa has had my eye, considering him as a Deulofeu replacement.
        7. Not going near BUR mid

          As for Siggy I would not consider him unless he plays centrally.
          Right about the keepers if there was any hald decent run of fixtures would pick one.
          Foster only hope but may be dearer.
          Bournemouth annoy me if I am honest they are very inconsistent.
          You almost have to leave the player there and forget about him. They can score against anyone on thier day.

        Hughes likely to start? I don’t remember him being an offensive threat as a player but I remember him getting some FPL attacking points. Good pick? If I replace Deu it’ll be Costa, Stephens, or Hughes

          I dont know, he looked great last season when he finally got in the team, played something like 3 games and tore his hammy. Took months to come back but I believe he was starting for the last month of the season. Will need to check the preseason games. But as Captain Choice says below about 11 games and involved in 5 goals. Seems worth a punt.

        Karius will change to Fab + 4.5 if Liverpool sign a Keeper. Otherwise he's staying because he had the same points per game as De Gea last year.

        Bavies should be good for a few weeks due to Rose being at the WC.

        I think Silva should be good too as he played most games that he was available for last year....

        Actually the more I explain myself the more I realise my team is risky.

      It is not as bad as Ogie says.
      Aguero should start gameweek 1 gives you a chance to switch to arsenal later.
      Mendy is a doubt though because pep can be a b0llix.
      I would love to get davies but how long will he start ahead of rose.

      Better value then Sessegnon I think.
      Would pick Gudmundsson ahead of him for example.
      Rest looks alright plenty of room for maneuver.

          If you want to go that route I would get daniels for Alonso.
          Think Bournemouth should get a clean sheet against Cardiff at home.

    Just did some research about 2014 world cup and PL players of final round
    Ramires and fernandinho were brazilian players and won 3rd place and started the season from gw1
    Despite not playing 90 minutes maybe because of tactical choices
    Ozil and mertesacker missed gw 1 and started gw 2 (germany 2014 champions)

    Rvp missed gw1.
    Pablo zabaleta was on bench gw1
    Aguro who was on bench for argentina at final was there for gw1 but only for 7 minutes
    And wijanldum who was playing at erdevise that time played full 90 minutes although it started 7 days before PL gameweek 1

      Gonna say that, the players can start the season. It's club decision whether to give them a extended break or use them. Can't see some PL clubs without their stars at the start specially tottenham with those many players

    KDB, Jorginho/Fernandinho, Silva
    Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling

    Obv some players to be rested in August. In a 4-3-3 Silva and KDB may not be the best fantasy options.
