Mohamed Salah will once again be the key Fantasy Premier League asset to own among Liverpool’s ranks this season.

The Egyptian may have had a huge price hike to £13.0m for 2018/19 but his underlying attacking numbers suggest he deserves to be valued higher than any of his colleagues.

        Yeah picking my defense has been a struggle so far. Jota to 4.5m and move Cairney to 4th MID?

        Really like Morata because of the Sarri factor. Golovin on my radar if we sign him, really want an attacking option from MID/FWD there.

        I was hoping the strength in attack and defence couldcounteract that somewhat.

          Yes. Possible to drop Aguero and then upgrade to a City mid like Mahrez. Then if the funds are there get Morata or a 6.5 or less.

      I like it a lot. Nice looking 4-3-3. The midfield is obviously on the weak side but Salah + Auba + Kun looks seriously strong.

        Yeah 4-3-3 was the plan and then try to navigate around the gameweeks where fixtures are tough by rotating Lamela/Cairney/Ralls and maybe even Wan-Bissaka.

        I'm a Spurs fan so may be biased but think Lamela could start the season brightly - especially with Newcastle and Fulham in the first two.

        Ralls will be benched most weeks but seems to take Cardiff's penalties unless I'm mistaken - hoping for a Milivojevic 2.0 haha

        Which other mids would you recommend around the 5.0 price tag? Thanks btw

          As a Cardiff season ticket holder I can confirm Ralls will not be benched. He is Cardiff's key midfield player. Has a good shot and takes penalties.

            Sorry I meant it in the sense that I will bench Ralls most weeks (not that he will be benched for Cardiff), as his main source of goals is penalties, unless I'm mistaken?

              I have Ralls in my teeam. I believe Cardiff's main source of goals will come from penalties as the side is not good enough to perform well in open play. We hoof the ball a lot into the box. Morrison our CB is fantastic in the air and believe in view of the added attention to holding in the box he will get fouled and thus penalties awarded. Pure speculation I know but it might be worth a punt.

          I love Mum but I think he's just a transfer waiting to happen. Maybe Kun to Auba? And downgrade Tosun to a Wood or Austin (monitor him pre-season)? Gives you a million or two to play around with your team.

        Mourinho has confirmed that none of the WC players are going to start the first couple of games. So he's going nowhere; and he if he bangs in a goal or two - it's gonna be his place too. I'm gonna rotate Albrighton (definitely a starter) with Tomkins, so not expecting much from him anyway at that price.

        Jota to Cairney? Not sure if I wanna downgrade him.

          Read it. That doesn't mean he's gonna be an absolute flop in the PL.

          Players like Austin and Deeney have performed well in the past. Wilson too - discounting his injuries.

          You need to look at squad structure, the new players bought, the player position etc. before you decide on a player. If you buy a 6m holding mid for example who scored maybe 10 goals or something in the championship courtesy some set pieces/long rangers, it's gonna take you nowhere (unless it's Milivojevic).

          Jota plays very high up the field, is involved in most of their attacks. Has decent statistics + underlying statistics.

            6.5 is quite pricy though. As I remember , Ritchie is 6.0 last season. Gross maybe 5.5 when promoted.

    Is Cavaleiro a good substitute for Jota if you are short of budget. My stats tell me that he scored 9 goals and 12 assists playing fewer minutes than Jota.

      Burnley's first priority is to stay in the PL. EL progress is just a bonus, and I think that's where the rotation, if any, will occur. Wood is definitely in their best XI, and is their best attacking player imo.

      His record last season is actually incredible, but he's flying somewhat under the radar (in overall FPL) because he missed half the season so his total points don't stand out. 10 goals and 20!!! bonus points in 1600 minutes is quite frankly superb and unrivalled in his price bracket. Burnley don't create a lot, but he scores when he gets a chance, which reflects in baps domination as he doesn't miss a lot of chances.

    morning everyone! is anyone going without Salah?
    Freeing these funds allows you to upgrade all the areas and have all the players you want. Obviously Firmino is a must in that case, Robertson is affordable no matter who else you want in defence and then you can wait and see whom to pick up in midfield - Lallana, Mane, Shaq...
    you can even go with Kun, Auba, Firmino up front

      Gone without Salah and pretty happy with my team.

      Think if you wanna take any chances with a Salah-less team, it should be at the start of the season. It gives you a chance to monitor if he's worth the price.

          Great front three!
          I will consider downgrading my def a bit to afford it but not convinced as of yet. Mendy could be gold even if he misses the odd game, planning on keeping Coleman for a while, and Robbo will prob become Bellerin. Except if Silva's Everton takes too much time to click, then it's Coleman who will make way.

      Hopefully won't do as bad this year, what with him being priced so much higher.

      Same with the budget midfielders...dross which are unlikely to regularly accumulate points.

      I think if Lookman / RLC look like playing, it makes things much easier, or perhaps a nailed cheap Chelsea mid (Pedro / Willian)

      - or if we get a new Chelsea forward at 10 or less...

        Problem is Kun is explosive yes and can get 250 pts, but he most likely wont coz he wont be nailed. So he will most likely get same as Bobby F, who costs 1.5m less.

          That doesn't matter. This is FPL, not Draft. We have transfers. No one with Kun is planning to keep him all season. Not like you're going to keep Firmino all season either because he goes on blanking streaks.

            I know that. Most on here are using Kun's explosiveness as the reason for getting him. I also had him since day 1...now Q my decision.

            It's a lot easier to set and forget Firmino @9.5m than to try and guess when a 11m striker might play or not. I chopped and changed Firmino last season and never got any pts to show for it.

              That's because Firmino is like that. He's very streaky. You have to get him at the right time. When he starts blanking, he can blank for 5-6 games straight. He isn't even nearly good enough to be set and forget. If you keep him through those 5-6 blanks, it's going to hurt your rank. I fortunately picked him at the right times.

              If I remember right, Aguero became first choice eventually last season before he got injured. Also, Pep only started playing one of Aguero/Jesus after Mendy got injured. There was even an article where he said that without Mendy, he couldn't play both. He may play both now.

              And Aguero was fantastic last season. His conversion rate was 22%, the highest in the league. When he played, he scored. 6.8 PPM too, compared to Firmino's 4.9.
