Spot the Differential – Lacazette and Sané ready to light up Gameweek 6

While the Fantasy Premier League community struggles to differentiate between three high-profile captain candidates, we’ve had a look underneath the radar.

Once again, we’ve picked out three players with below 5% ownership who could make a big difference to your Gameweek 6 score.

All of them have form and fixtures on their side, so why not consider them for your squad?

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m)

Ownership: 4.3%

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) looks like a fantastic differential for Gameweek 6. In fact, he is finally delivering on our prediction he would match Arsenal colleague Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m).

Despite starting just twice, and registering 276 minutes to Aubameyang’s 410, the Frenchman has more FPL points than any other Arsenal player.

In the last four Gameweeks, Lacazette has averaged 5.5 points per match, while Aubameyang is behind him having registered 4.25.

With his impressive performances of late, he is sure to retain his place in the Arsenal line-up for the visit of Everton. Crucially, he did not play a single minute as the Gunners beat Vorskla in the Europa on Thursday night, ensuring he will be fresh and ready for Sunday.

The Toffees are still without a clean sheet and have conceded 1.8 goals per game so far. Furthermore, Everton were demolished by a 5-1 scoreline the last time they travelled to the Emirates Stadium.

Olivier Giroud (£7.8m)

Ownership: 2.6%

Olivier Giroud will be licking his lips as the prospect of facing West Ham this weekend. The Frenchman has six goals and three assists in 11 appearances across all competitions against the Hammers.

Furthermore, he managed four goals and one assist in seven matches against Manchester City when they were under the leadership of Manuel Pellegrini.

Maurizio Sarri was highly complimentary of Giroud’s performance in against Cardiff, making specific reference to his ability to get the best out of Eden Hazard. No striker created more chances than Giroud in Gameweek 5, and he came away from the match with two assists. This bodes well for his future involvement.

Giroud already appears to have won the role of first-choice forward at Chelsea, taking it from team-mate Alvaro Morata (£9.0m). He has largely disappointed so far this season and played the bulk of last night’s Europa League tie in Greece. Giroud, meanwhile, featured in just the last nine minutes.

Leroy Sane (£9.2m)

Ownership: 4.0%

Despite a tricky start to the season, Leroy Sané (£9.2m) could be a powerful differential once again. There is every reason to believe he can replicate his goal-scoring performance against Fulham in a Gameweek 6 trip to Cardiff City.

His place in the side looks more assured than usual with Benjamin Mendy (£6.5m) now ruled out of the match. Sané’s long run of starts last season was largely caused by the lack of options on that left-flank.

The fact that he already has a goal and an assist from just one start and 120 minutes of football in 2018/19 tells us Sané is ready to explode FPL points once again.

In fact, no fit Manchester City player can top his minutes per shot on target or goal attempt inside the penalty box so far; not even Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) or Raheem Sterling (£11.0m).

No side has managed more shots in the penalty box than Man City in the last four Gameweeks, and a many expect a heavy win for the champions in south Wales.

Sané’s increased chance of start and impressive numbers so far suggest he can play a big part in that.

No one in that team is 100% nailed imo bar Ederson but D.Silva is as nailed as you can get.

Disagree. D.Silva has played last 2 fixtures and is one of the older midfielders. More likely to get rested.

Possible, but can't see that happening with EFL cup in the midweek. Plus in the long term you'd expect him to start 9/10 that's more than most in that team.

    4. Dr Dream

David Silva is first choice above everybody in the team. He is the most influential player and the love child of Pep Guardiola from a previous marriage with Barcelona. Sadly even that is not enough to guarantee a start week in and week out.

New thread so here goes again. I'm on WC and currently have:

    Patricio / Bego
Mendy Alonso Robbo / Doherty Wan Biss

With the Mendy news I'm thinking the following:
    Ederson / Hamer
Trippier Alonso Robbo / Doherty Wan Biss

I started the season with Mendy so will lose value. So do you think it's worth getting rid whilst on WC or hold for the time being?

  12. Solenya

Repost (and Sane in the differentials 😛 )

Any Cardiff fans around? Any chance Peltier or Jazz Richards gets a look in? Realize Richards came in for a sick Arter last week and Arter should return but clutching at straws here. Need a 4.0m def, can't get Bennet.
    Think there's real value in

    Mendy + Mkhi -> 4m + Sane

    1. antis0cial
      • 7 Years

I'd rather have D.Silva and 4.7 for the defender. Silva only at about 9% ownership so still a differential

Lingaard not a differentiation? Looks like he will be nailed on to play in the league and we know he can go on hot streaks and fixtures are good.

He can also go on very long cold streaks, which he is doing right now.

What's with all the Pedro panic? He said he is fine. Willian scored off the bench, like Pedro did two games ago. Pedro played well. Coming off the bench is very different to starting. I'd be surprised if Pedro doesn't feature this weekend.

There was concern even before the injury, the fact he and Willian both played 90 midweek gave no assurances over who would start at the weekend.

Plus with the Mendy issue and impending rotation around cups, people are reluctant to hold to many players who might not play.

Pus with Richarlison back, Fraser in form and Maddison staking a claim, there are strong alternatives.

PLUS a lot of people only got Pedro in the first place as a short term replacement for Richarlison, so this weekend was originally his expiration date in their minds.

    Which better option ?
A - Get both Rich and Madison
    Bench King ♔
B- just get one of them and play king
    Transfer is
    A - Jota & Makhi > Maddison & Rich
B- Makhi > one of them

Should I change something? What do you all mean?
And who should I be captain? Mane? Aguero? Or hazard?

    Ederson
    Arnold - Alonso - Trippier
    Mane - Lucas - Hazard - Richarlison
    Zaha - Aguero - Wilson
Subs: Speroni, Wan-Bissaka, Cedric and Neves.
