Spot the Differential – Lacazette and Sané ready to light up Gameweek 6

While the Fantasy Premier League community struggles to differentiate between three high-profile captain candidates, we’ve had a look underneath the radar.

Once again, we’ve picked out three players with below 5% ownership who could make a big difference to your Gameweek 6 score.

All of them have form and fixtures on their side, so why not consider them for your squad?

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m)

Ownership: 4.3%

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) looks like a fantastic differential for Gameweek 6. In fact, he is finally delivering on our prediction he would match Arsenal colleague Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m).

Despite starting just twice, and registering 276 minutes to Aubameyang’s 410, the Frenchman has more FPL points than any other Arsenal player.

In the last four Gameweeks, Lacazette has averaged 5.5 points per match, while Aubameyang is behind him having registered 4.25.

With his impressive performances of late, he is sure to retain his place in the Arsenal line-up for the visit of Everton. Crucially, he did not play a single minute as the Gunners beat Vorskla in the Europa on Thursday night, ensuring he will be fresh and ready for Sunday.

The Toffees are still without a clean sheet and have conceded 1.8 goals per game so far. Furthermore, Everton were demolished by a 5-1 scoreline the last time they travelled to the Emirates Stadium.

Olivier Giroud (£7.8m)

Ownership: 2.6%

Olivier Giroud will be licking his lips as the prospect of facing West Ham this weekend. The Frenchman has six goals and three assists in 11 appearances across all competitions against the Hammers.

Furthermore, he managed four goals and one assist in seven matches against Manchester City when they were under the leadership of Manuel Pellegrini.

Maurizio Sarri was highly complimentary of Giroud’s performance in against Cardiff, making specific reference to his ability to get the best out of Eden Hazard. No striker created more chances than Giroud in Gameweek 5, and he came away from the match with two assists. This bodes well for his future involvement.

Giroud already appears to have won the role of first-choice forward at Chelsea, taking it from team-mate Alvaro Morata (£9.0m). He has largely disappointed so far this season and played the bulk of last night’s Europa League tie in Greece. Giroud, meanwhile, featured in just the last nine minutes.

Leroy Sane (£9.2m)

Ownership: 4.0%

Despite a tricky start to the season, Leroy Sané (£9.2m) could be a powerful differential once again. There is every reason to believe he can replicate his goal-scoring performance against Fulham in a Gameweek 6 trip to Cardiff City.

His place in the side looks more assured than usual with Benjamin Mendy (£6.5m) now ruled out of the match. Sané’s long run of starts last season was largely caused by the lack of options on that left-flank.

The fact that he already has a goal and an assist from just one start and 120 minutes of football in 2018/19 tells us Sané is ready to explode FPL points once again.

In fact, no fit Manchester City player can top his minutes per shot on target or goal attempt inside the penalty box so far; not even Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) or Raheem Sterling (£11.0m).

No side has managed more shots in the penalty box than Man City in the last four Gameweeks, and a many expect a heavy win for the champions in south Wales.

Sané’s increased chance of start and impressive numbers so far suggest he can play a big part in that.

    HELP REQUIRED DESPERATELY

Ok, so I'm wildcarding and I've dug myself into a corner that I cant decide how to move forward - its all about the following options

I've settled on 5 of my front 8 (playing 3-4-3 - Hojberg is bench fodder)
    Hazard/Frazer/Hojberg
    Aguero/Mitrovic

So I need two mids and a striker – options are

    1)Mane & Sane (or D Silva) & Lacazette
    2) Mane & Richarlison (or Maddison) & Lukaku
    3) Salah & Sane (or D Silva) & Wilson (or King)
    4) Something totally different (don't want Vardy or Aubamayang or Firmino or Zaha or Arnie)
Absolutely no idea which way to go......

      2) looks fantastic in my opinion. If I have to WC now I'd almost probably copy your squad.

Ok, that gives me the following squad (and it's what I have currently)

        Hennesy (Hames)
        Alonso, TAA, Doherty, Holebas, AWB
        Mane, Hazard, Frazer, Richarlison, Hojberg
        Aguero, Lukaku, Mitrovic

        0.8 in the bank

thanks - I hope so - my theory is I play 3-4-3 and rorate Doherty/AWB/Holebas based on fixtures.... Frazer at some point may end up as Maddison or suchlike when his fixtures turn, I was tempted to go even cheaper at the back and dump holebas for Bennett, but I don't really need the cash at the moment and I wanted some defenders with attacking points potential without the big pricetag.

I really don't want to get rid of Mendy only for him to come back next week and score a boatload against Brighton.

Yeah but Liverpool have a strong defense. Would not be surprised to see them keep a cleanie against Chelsea or even Mcy. And then there's this week which is plum for Robbo.

Thoughts on this WC? 1.2 in the bank.
Doubling up on Liverpool for this fixture only, one of those will be switched to Hazard.

    Ederson
    Alonso - Shaw - Trippier
    Salah - Mane - Fraser - Maddison
    Aguero - Mitrovic - Zaha

Stekelenburg - Wan Bissaka - Bennett - Biling

I am thinking of captaining Aubameyang as a differential. Also have Aguero and Hazard. What do you think?

Last time when Aguero (assist) was the safe option I captained Auba (goal) and scored more.

      I like it

With Mendy injured I only have 10 men playing this GW. I decided to downgrade Mendy and improve my team with the leftover money for a hit. Which option looks better:

    A) Mendy + Ings > Holebas + Mitro (3-4-3)
    B) Mendy + Peltier > Holebas + Shaw (4-4-2)
    C) Mendy + Cairney > Doherty + Richarlison/Maddison (3-5-2)

If I go A or B, AWB will be benched, for C Doherty would be the one to be benched.

    The team atm:
    Patricio (Hamer)
    Alonso Robertson AWB (Mendy*, Peltier*)
    Salah Hazard Dilva Fraser (Cairney*)
    Aguero Wilson (Ings*)

    C) Chilwell

    1. Maximus Bonimus Pointimus

Shaw looks like he could be in rotation with Young... and Pereira has been more attacking than Chilwell thus far, so B seems the pick of those three. No harm in waiting for Mendy either mind you.

Could be wrong but are the attacking stats not in Chilwell's favour?

I know Pereira has been more effective so far (and played on the wing a bit), but as I recall Chilwell was putting in more accurate crosses, more shots, more touches in the box

If pedro doesnt play my subs are awb and guendouzi (mendy out)

But im already playing henny and pva.

Would you hold binning pedro and mendy this week? And let awb come on to complete the palace trinity in defence or take a hit for one of them?

I took a hit for Pedo. Brought in Maddison. Considered Richarlison but went for the other son.

Thoughts? Been struggling quite a bit recently but had a shake up!

    Ederson (Hennessey)
    Robertson Alonso Shaw (Wan-Bissaka Holebas)
    Mane Pereyra Fraser Schurrle Hazard
    Aguero Zaha (Jimenez)

    Cheers

Maddison or fraser? Having both means benching one each week which is annoying...

I got both. Maddison playing every week with Fraser sometimes rotating with Ings. I'd say go for Maddison if you're only getting one.

Most weeks you will end up using your first sub off the bench, so having both could mean you have an excellent option to come in ?
