Sign up now for next Fantasy Football Scout Charity Cup

February 24th 2018. The big winners were Liverpool and Brighton, who each recorded 4-1 victories in their respective triumphs over West Ham and Championship-bound Swansea.

However, in north London, under the banner of Sparta Rotterdam, a team of FFScout luminaries were also celebrating, as they lifted the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Charity Cup. A real-life football tournament which brought to together over 30 grassroots players from around the country.

The Charity Cup is returning on the afternoon of Saturday 17 November 2018 (during the international break) and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The format will depend on numbers, but with a full 3G 11-a-side pitch (which can also be divided) available to us all afternoon between 2pm and 7pm, we have the capacity and flexibility to structure the day however we wish.

We are extremely fortunate to have secured The Thomas Parmiter Sports Centre in north Watford (WD25 0UU), which is a fabulous facility and is perfectly located just minutes away from Junction 6 of the M1 and Junction 21A of the M25.

For those travelling up from London by train, Garston Station is just 1.5 miles away. We will have the entire venue to ourselves with ample parking and with a number of pubs barely a mile away.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to take part, whatever the level and whether you are fit enough to play all day or just make a cameo appearance. We’ll be organising players into squads so you don’t need to round up a team yourself, although feel free to bring invite a guest player or two to boost the numbers.

All you need to do is email peter.kouwenberg76@gmail.com as soon as possible to confirm your interest and provide your contact details, at which point you’ll be added to the relevant WhatsApp group unless you would prefer to be kept informed by email or text instead.

February’s tournament proved a huge success and raised over £1,000 for Melanoma Research Foundation. This year we hope to raise more even money, involve even more as we donate to men’s mental health charity CALM.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. On average, 12 men take their own life every day – more than three times the number of women.

Two of my uncles committed suicide so I personally think it’s a great cause. CALM works to prevent male suicide by providing services for men who are down or in crisis, and by campaigning for culture change so men feel able to seek help.

To donate please visit our JustGiving page:

All money raised will go directly to the charity, so please give generously.

CALM’s helpline – 0800 58 58 58 – and webchat are open daily 5pm-midnight. It’s free, anonymous and confidential.

For more information about CALM and the impact your donation will have, please read here.

CALM is a charity registered in England and Wales (1110621) and in Scotland (SC044347)

    Which one on WC??

    A)
    Ederson/Hamer
    Alonso/Trippier/TAA/Bennett/WB

    B)
    4.5/4.5
    Alonso/Trippier/TAA/Doherty/WB

    C)
    Patricio/Hamer
    Alonso/Robo/Trippier/Bennett/WB

No City def is pain in B and C, can do Trip to Mendy when fit but probably would lose City def points against Burnley (H) and Brighton (H).

I'm thinking a -8 to take out Salah for Kane and then bring him back in in 2 GWs is too much of a gamble, especially given that Kane hasn't set the world on fire so far. I know Kane can score a brace/hatty out of nowhere but all Salah needs is 1 goal pretty much, to not make the transfers worthwhile..

Is that-8 in total i.e. to sell and bring back? What about the other player you will bring in? You need to add the points he will score into the equation as well

Just write out on paper the points you expect each of the players to get over the games in question and add the -8 in. As Tippins says, the critical assumption will be Kane (c) vs whomever you would otherwise give the armband to in GW8

That's a good transfer, especially as you have Fraser. Their fixtures will turn soon. And Mitro has been great and stats back it up.

Btw I have 3 Pool as well. Think I'll end up keeping and playing all of them. I've been contemplating all sorts of transfer ideas. Might get rid of Mane but quite sure Salah/Kane switcharoo is not worth the cost and transfers and can't get Kane in for Mane.

Assuming you have at least few of Alonso/Robbo/Mendy, don't think you would end up playing double Wolves. So I'd go Yedlin to give an option from another team. Dunk/Duffy decent options as well but see how they would rotate with your other cheap defs

What is actually wrong with Benjamin Mendy?
Is he returning anytime soon, it's so weird that there is virtually no mention of it from Pep after he sang his praises so much in the early weeks. We're talking about a £50m left back here and feels like he has had a bust up to me and just washed his hands of him.
Apparently it was his knee, then his ankle and then finally his metatarsal. Smells of lies and a bust up

Too much to guess, so I simply sold. Hope it will be not too expensive to buy back when it's clear about him.

Got a few injuries and after Pereria and Arnie didn't show up last weekend I only had 9 playing! Which flagged players would you prioritise out?

    Patricio - Hamer
    Alonso - Robertson - Mendy* - Pereria* - AWB
    Salah - Hazard - Richarlison - Fraser - Cairney*
    Aguero - Arnie* - Quaner*

    0.4ITB and 1FT

Thinking Mendy and Cairney to Doherty and Maddison (-4pts)?

Hope Emery plays a proper second team tonight. No Cech, Bellerin, Monreal, Xhaka, Torreira, Ramsey, Auba, Ozil, Laca

That would give you excitement at every line-up announcement.

Oh.. Let's imagine when Aurier & Davies starting.

Just Mendy to Trippier. Doubling up on Spurs without Lloris and that rotation is too much.
