Meet the Manager #6 – Adam Hopcroft (Choppers13)

Over his eight campaigns, Adam Hopcroft has finely tuned a bespoke management style that pays close attention to underlying statistics, the Season Ticker and the good old-fashioned eye test.

With five top 10,000 finishes, including two within the top 1,000, it’s a strategy that has clearly paid off.

Adam looks on course for another strong finish this time out too, with a current placing in the top 30,000.

Here he discusses in detail the key statistics he pays particular attention to and why medium, not short-term, upcoming fixtures guide his Season Ticker.

Each year he also gathers more information about players, which helps decide whether strong underlying statistics herald a point blitz or disappointment.

Adam then applies his tailor-made statistics and fixture analysis to the current campaign to reveal the players he is looking to ditch and those he is keen to bring in.

    My dilemma...

    Prefer to lose Rich but will end up with 0 in the bank
    If I lose Maddison, I have that all important 0.1 itb to upgrade Mitrovic to Arnie next week. Want Arnie big time..

      I had the same dilemma, Richarlison or Maddison + Kane to get Salah and Arnie in, 2FTs. I opted for Maddison, I just think Richarlison's ceiling is higher and his fixtures are slightly better.

        So far so good. As discussed about, IMO Richarlison was playing OOP therefore had a higher ceiling, and there fixture looked better. He's not doing too bad? 😉

    Do you think Lossl is the best option right now in a goal?
    Look at the fixtures, Huddersfield has worst calendar of all teams, and when they played their only easy game (Cardiff) they kept a clean sheet.

    Any Eye test on Lossl? Huddersfield fans?

        I think Wagner will play simple and tight, he needs to win games.
        Fabianski is a good shout but he rarely gets clean sheets.
        Ryan - not sure, I would rather get Duffy, but Brighton never get clean sheets on the road (Newcastle one was a lucky clean sheet tbh).

      If you get Salah in your starting from a no-win position. Because you'll need him to get a minimum of 8 points just to break even. Therefore, a brace minimum for the move to be a profit, however, with Firmino if he scored one goals or even gets an assist your straight into profit.

          To be honest, Salah isn't in last season form. However, next 3-4 fixtures look plum for him. Where he will score minimum once. Giving you at least 8 points per match. Lovren too looks nailed.

        From the rules :

        Selecting a Captain and a Vice-Captain
        From your starting 11 you nominate a captain and a vice-captain. Your captain's score will be doubled.

        If your captain plays 0 minutes in the Gameweek, the captain will be changed to the vice-captain.

        If both captain and vice-captain play 0 minutes in a Gameweek, then no player's score will be doubled.
