Captains

Vote in the Captain Poll for Gameweek 11

Sergio Aguero (£11.3m) and Eden Hazard (£11.3m) are likely to be the pair vying for domination of the Gameweek 11 captaincy.

Both players have home fixtures against favourable opposition this weekend and have been much more impressive in front of their own fans this season.

Aguero has delivered attacking returns in every match at the Etihad Stadium in 2018/19, averaging a total of 9.4 points per game.

Meanwhile, Southampton will arrive having conceded 1.4 goals per away match this season. Only three teams have allowed more penalty box shots since Gameweek 7 too.

Benjamin Mendy (£6.3m) may even get a look-in this week given that he has six assists already this term and Southampton are without a league goal in five matches.

With Riyad Mahrez (£8.6) having recorded three double-figure hauls in the last five Gameweeks, he may be starting to emerge as a differential option although there are plenty of potentially viable options in the Man City midfield.

As Liverpool travel to in-form Arsenal, interest in Mohamed Salah (£12.9m) and Sadio Mané (£9.7m) may be restricted.

Instead, Hazard looks like the most likely to compete with Aguero if he can regain full fitness.

The Chelsea man has registered either a goal or an assist in all but one of his home matches this season, for an average of 9.2 points per game at Stamford Bridge. The only one he blanked in was the Gameweek 9 visit of Manchester United.

Next opponents Crystal Palace are without a clean sheet since Gameweek 6 and have conceded seven times in four matches since then (1.75 per game).

Given Brighton’s form away from home, some managers may consider either Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.4m) or Richarlison (£6.8m) as alternative captain candidates in Gameweek 11.

West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) may also be viewed by some as a differential as he prepares to face Burnley. No side has allowed more shots than the Clarets this season.

Fulham and their hapless defence are unlikely to influence the captaincy discussion as they travel to face Huddersfield Town, the Premier League’s lowest scorers.

    Playing in a budgetted draft league and thinking about doing Kepa & Ings -> Fabianski & Arnie. Will wait until Friday to make the move for full news on Arnie, any thoughts?

    2 questions

    1. Will Sterling play against Southampton? If doubt i will move home for Mane
    2.Other than Arnie who is the best bet for WH attack?

    1. BigBillyBass
      • 5 Years
      5 years, 5 months ago

      1) He may not. Pep loves to play him in the big games to stretch the opposing team’s fullbacks, smaller games he doesn’t rely on him as much. He was rested against Burnley, it’s not unfathomable Pep won’t do the same against Soton
      2) No one Arnie is only attacking WHU player I’d consider

        1. I think Pep just likes to keep his players fresh and rotates all the midfielders at times. I've tried to find a pattern and don't really think there is one. Sure, he wants his strongest 11 against tough opposition. But Sterling just recently had a rest and will probably just sit out the cup game.

        2. Balbuena and Anderson.

    My current team with 2FT and 3.0ITB is:

    Foster Fabianski
    Mendy Robertson Alonso Doherty AWB
    Hazard Maddison Richarlison Fraser Kenedy
    Aguero Lacazette Ings

    I am looking at doing for a -4 hit:
    Ings -> Success
    Lacazette -> Arnie
    Fraser -> Mane

    Should I? I wanted to get Salah in, but that would mean losing Richarlison or Maddison. Thoughts?

            I'm keeping Mitro for his GW11 game, and then shipping off for Arnautovic for the West Ham-Huddersfield game.

      I'm in exactly the same situation.. Tough decision to be honest. I think it depends on a few things:

      a) Arnautovic recovery from illness. Do we know how bad the illness is? We saw a similar thing with Vardy this week where his game time was managed post illness. also heard some rumours about his knee injury issues - that does worry me

      b) Mitro form is bad, do we thing he can turn it around? he has some pretty plum fixtures coming up

      I think holding Wilson for now is the right thing to do.

      I think I will ultimately roll my transfer and possibly do the switch gwk 12 but not 100% on that

        Mitro looked awesome earlier in the season and overall his stats are still very good.

        They've had some tough games recently against Arsenal, Bournemouth and Everton, while I can't really explain the Cardiff game... Sure they're off form, but he looks pretty nailed and would like to think they could turn it around against Hud and Sou at least...

      It's true, he was poor.

      Genuinely I'm not sure how much the pitch played a part, for the wide players, who were operating in the areas where the NFL dug outs would have been, that area of the pitch looked especially patchy.

      Both full-backs had off games imo, but Mendy in particular wasn't his best.
      I dont think he'll get dropped though.

      I.ll go Martial, could be the good differetial.
      Barkley looks great but rotation prone. But his price is great.
