    Okay, serious question......has any mathematicians or statisticians worked out what percentage of FPL is luck? Will increase in player/team/game data, I’m sure it’s slowly reducing season on season, but still not by much. I reckon 70-80% of FPL is luck.

        If you have a good sample of years (i.e. finishing top 10k consistently) you can estimate whether or not a player is running hot, cold etc.

      Much like poker, markets etc.: the edge against poor players is massive, but the variance keeps them interested. Between two expert players over the course of 1 season I would expect the difference in score to be almost purely down to randomness (assuming 1 player doesn't have a tendency to take rash hits every week!).

      I can't show you my workings as it involved maffs with no numbers but loads of those Greek letters. Some of the Greek letters are smaller and are perched on the top right hand corner of the other Greek letters.
      There are also various types of brackets around some of the Greek letters.

      Depends on the skill difference between players. Complete casual noob versus someone taking it seriously, its 99% skill. Two experienced players playing one season against each other its probably at least 90% luck.

      I've always wondered what the ideal situation for non-captaining owners is. Typically like them to get a goal/assist but that's it. Gives a little boost over those who don't own, but gives room for my captain to outscore quite easily.

          You say that, but I'd rather Aguero get 6 and Salah get 20 points, than Aguero get 19 and Salah get 20. Means you've gained more of a benefit by choosing the correct captain.

        It is easy to swap Haz for Sterling or someone for a week - get him back...
        I just think it's bizarre SO many have ditched. Sterling/Aguero/Mahrez .etc might not even get as many minutes as Haz.

            Well, that's kind of my original point - I don't get it.
            Here, I meant it's tempting (better phrase than easy) to do a one week swap if you've transfers to spend.

            He's had a lot of transfers out this week, I'd say an excessive amount even if he was injured for the week. He's going to play 45mins or so, so I don't get it.

    Liking the Utd line-up other than Mata (prefer Rashford). Would be a very mobile and quick front three with Rashford-Sanchez-Martial and a powerful midfield with Fred-Pogba-Matic. Good blend of attributes.
