Watchlist Update – Morata bursts onto scene as Wolves improve

We have updated the Watchlist ahead of Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 12.

All four sections have been tackled in one article this time around with attention drawn only to the biggest changes.

Make sure you investigate the widget in full on our sidebar to see who we think you should be monitoring for your squads in the coming weeks.

The only mover in the goalkeeper department is Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) who creeps just above Newcastle shot-stopper Martin Dubravka (£5.0m). There are two tricky fixtures for Everton in the next four as they have to travel to Chelsea and Liverpool but home matches against Cardiff and Newcastle have strong clean sheet potential.

Above him, Kasper Schmeichel‘s (£5.0m) form has increased from C to B as Leicester kept their first clean sheet since Gameweek 7 in their recent win at Cardiff City.

Just below the Dane, Rui Patrício (£4.6m) shakes off his Unfavourable Fixtures factor as Wolves schedule eases a little. After a trip to Arsenal this week, the newly-promoted side have Huddersfield (home) and Cardiff (away) as well as a trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 16. However, the Gameweek 15 visit of Chelsea and Gameweek 17 meeting with Bournemouth keep his fixture factor blank for now.

Ben Foster‘s (£4.5m) schedule swings in a different direction as his Favourable Fixtures factor becomes an Unfavourable Fixtures one. Watford’s next four matches are Southampton (away), Liverpool (home), Leicester (away) and Manchester City (home).

Patrício’s Wolves colleague Matt Doherty (£4.9m) is the only rising defender. That fixture swing is what has underpinned him creeping just past Keiran Trippier (£6.3m), who faces Chelsea (home) and Arsenal (away) in two of the next three Gameweeks. To his credit though, Trippier has finally shaken off his Rotation Risk factor having started the last 10 Premier League matches in a row and featuring only as a late substitute in Spurs’ midweek Champions League win over PSV.

Kiko Femenía (£4.2m) remains on the list as a starting £4.2m defender but Watford’s fixtures (mentioned above) push him to the bottom of the pile. The options from Leicester (Chilwell), Everton (Digne) and Newcastle (Yedlin) all look better for the near future. Femenía’s form also drops to B, with two hauls and two blanks in the last four matches.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Eden Hazard (£11.3m) remain above Raheem Sterling (£11.1m) among midfielders for Gameweek 12, in spite of the Man City man’s 21-point haul against Southampton. He keeps his Rotation Risk factor on account of missing two plum home fixtures to Pep Guardiola’s selection policy earlier this season. Meanwhile, Hazard loses his Injury factor having officially recovered from his back problem.

After switching him to Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.5m) for Gameweek 11, Richarlison (£6.9m) has returned to the Watchlist. We consider it a peace offering after he ruthlessly punished our decision to remove him a week ago. Fantasy Football Scout members will be able to look at the data behind his return to the Watchlist by reading this article.

James Maddison’s (£7.0m) knee injury sees him drop to eighth place while Ryan Fraser (£6.1m) and Anthony Martial (£7.5m) benefit to occupy sixth and seventh place respectively.

Fulham’s problems in front of goal have seen Andre Schürrle (£5.9m) drop off the end of the list to be replaced by West Ham’s Felipe Anderson (£6.8m). It’s mainly the fixtures that hold him there for now as we’d like to see some consistency before pushing him higher up.

A 13-point haul against Southampton is enough for Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.4m) form to go back to A. Therefore, he holds onto top spot in the forwards’ section.

12 points registered against Burnley sees Marko Arnautovic (£7.1m) improve his form to B and he is set for another week in second place with West Ham’s nice run.

The only other change in the forwards’ section sees Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) fall off the bottom in disgrace. His replacement is Álvaro Morata (£8.7m) who has four goals in his last four matches and impressive underlying statistics to back that up too. He comes in just below Harry Kane (£12.4m) but one above Roberto Firmino (£9.2m)

    After a poor few weeks, I could really do with some advice on the below team;

    Ederson (Hamer)
    Alonson TAA Trippier (Bennett) (Wan-Bissaka)
    Mane(c) Maddison Hazard Fraser (Hojbjerg)
    Kun Vardy Arnie

    0.1 ITB 1FT.

    Thanks in advance!

      Maddison out:

      The gamble: Felipe Anderson

      The safe: Richarlison (if fit)

Surprised you've had poor weeks, team looks pretty decent.
Vardy hasn't been great, but I'd stick with him for the fixtures.
Spurs have some tough games, so maybe Trippier to someone else for the next three.
I have, and will be keeping TAA for the Fulham game.
...and Maddison is injured in case you didn't know.

Nice team... maybe as a one week punt (based on the chance that Liverpool could bang 5 past Fulham), bring in Wijnaldum or Shaqiri (probably the first) for that game

Looking at a gw15 or 16 wildcard. Can probably only squeeze 3 of these heavy hitters in....so who should I leave out??

    A...kun / sterling
    B...hazard
C...Kane (best captaincy option thru xmas)
    D....mane

Does it seem viable to have no lpool attach through December?

    Thanks

I'm running without Kun, not particularly interested in Kane and Mané's fixtures are turning but he is still good value and helps to cover Liverpool attacking fixtures. Priority list for me is Hazard, Sterling, Mané, Kun, Kane.

Got Maddison myself, not many appealing kids in the under 6.7 price bracket if you already own Richarlison and or Fraser.

I’m considering downgrading to Brooks to free up money to get RAM

I do. Its hard this. But I am convinced that Wilson is the real deal this season, and the best striker at his price (assuming you have Arnie). So I will go for him for Mitro, regardless of the fixtures to come.

I think my plan with Maddison is either to keep and bench (play Doherty), or to switch him for Felipe Anderson. Leaning towards Anderson.

      1. Royal5
        • 12 Years
        5 years, 5 months ago

My bench is terrible. I'm also looking at Anderson even if I have Arnautovic. I think Wilson could be the best replacement for Mitro, although those fixtures are pretty tough.

    Any advice would be appreciated...

    Ederson (boruc)
    Trent, mendy, alonso, (bennet), (awb)
    Hazard, mane, richarlison, schurrle, (hojberg)
    Lacazette, aguero, wilson

    1 FT, 0 ITB

Thinking of swapping schurrle for someone but not sure who? (Schurrle only worth 5.9)

He was rested in the game before the game before last. I mean, he might be but that would be unlucky for owners (I'd be looking at 2 rests in 4 since I wildcarded him in).

    Fab - Hamer

Feel like this year no big hitters in attack is essential.(apart from hazard maybe)
it's about shifting them in terms of fixtures. For eg I swapped Salah with Kane for (hud CAR) where he scored 2 goals. In that period Salah blanked(MCI che).

Then I did reverse where Salah had (hud CAR) scoring 2 goals 2 assists while Kane blanked against (whu MCI).

I know it's small sample but I think this tactic could work. Thoughts?

That’s the entire game in a nutshell - get the players in when they score big! Drop them as they blank.
In theory is perfect but you have to nail the timings.

Exactly . Better to avoid kneejerking and get ahead of the curve.

    Patricio
    Alonso Mendy Robbo
    Hazard Siggy Mane Fraser
    Arni Aguero Wilson

    Speroni Doherty AWB Stephens

    Short list:
    Felipe Anderson
    Shaqiri
    Jimenez

Nah - team looks v solid and all your shortlist are v punty.
2.3itb is nice - could just use to upgrade one of Siggy / Wilson / Fraser.

      Definitely not.

Some of those on your short list are very questionable.

Anderson - he has only had one decent game so far and that was hopeless BUR. Rest of the time he has been very ordinary.

Shaq - always on the bench.

Jimenez - not heavy enough even for a budgeritoe.

Morata - has recent form bit still not trustworthy.

Ryan - 3 cs but the underlying defensive stats for BHA are awful.

      Just hang on.

    Planning Mitro & Holebas -> 5.4 & Mendy.

    2 questions:

    1. Do both this week or play Holebas v Southampton, transfer to Mendy next week
    2. Best 5.4striker? Success and bank money? Vokes?

    Patricio
    Robertson Alonso Chilwell (Holebas WB)
    Salah Mané Richarlison Fraser (Masuaku)
    Aguero Arnie Mitro

    2ft.

I'd do Mitro to Jimenez/Ings/Wilson and play Holebas. Would say 2FTs for next week more valuable than the difference between Holebas vs Soton / Mendy against United. All depends what are you planning to do with Salah/Mane going forward seeing you don't have Hazard/Sterling

Not expecting a great deal this weekend with double City defence versus an unusual United side and Rich a doubt, even if fit with Chelsea away. That said, GTG?

    Ederson
    Mendy Alonso Robertson
    Haz Mane Martial Richarlison
    Aguero Arnie Wilson

Forgot about Ings, could be a decent replacement for Mitro. Don't like Raul against Arsenal.

There's a reason you forgot about Danny Ings.

He doesnt set the world on fire but at 5.5 with some decent fixtures, one could take a punt

I opted for Ings as Salah enabler. Soton has couple good fixtures and rotates very well with Wolves/Palace defence midterm.
