FFS Cup

The latest FFScout fixtures and results

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup competitions are preparing to go into full swing ahead of a busy week of matches.

We’re here to bring you the latest from the public FFScout Cup and the FFScout Members Cup too.

At this point we’d like to issue a formal warning that, due to the disastrous nature of Gameweek 13, this article may not necessarily make for comfortable reading…

Public FFScout Cup

The trials and tribulations of Gameweek 13 wreaked havoc on Fantasy Football Scout staff and a handful of former winners in the opening round of the FFScout Cup.

No fewer than four ex-champions were dumped out of the competition at the first hurdle.

Scoutcast and Breakfast Club contributor J0e will perhaps feel the most upset as he missed out on the second round by just one point, defeated 32-31 by stripeless.

Wild Rover lost 50-33 to Christobisto, Leon Harris was seen off 49-47 by cobblers304 and 2EyedTurk suffered a 50-40 defeat at the hands of Harvard.

Meanwhile, editor DavidMunday815 and community manager Geoff also saw their terrible Gameweeks write off any chance of a cup-run. The former losing 53-35 to Tottispicks, the latter to Roger C by a 51-37 scoreline.

But it wasn’t all doom and gloom as our glorious leader Mark‘s 60 points was enough to see him fight another day in the cup.

Maverick Scoutcaster D1sable also triumphed over srini venkat with a score of 37-35.

Alongside him were five other former champions who sealed their passage to the second round.

A Manager Has No Name beat Alan the Llama 50-45, Ninja_Fit_Saints emerged victorious from a 45-37 match-up with Dugarry 21 and MCH slugged it out with Madeinireland to win 45-43.

donnellyc and Gribude complete the list of ex-champions in the next round as they saw off River Template (69-45) and MARTINB (43-37) respectively.

It was also good news for the two members of the world’s top 100 managers as both Sir Oux, ranked 15th, and High as a Keita won their cup ties.

The full list of results from the first round can be FOUND HERE.

FFScout Members Cup

The long-awaited first round draw of the 2018/19 FFS Members Cup took place this week and we can reveal some of the stand-out fixtures that have been arranged.

Over 1,728 managers applied for the 512 places available in the first round draw, with the Gameweek 13 qualifying score is set at 45 (after hits) and an overall rank of 6,101 or better needed for those hitting that total exactly.

Goo was the lucky manager who scraped through the qualifying round in 512th place.

Such was the fallout from Gameweek 13 that just three former winners made it through the preliminary round.

Fuzzy Dunlop, currently ranked 51,354, faces a tough test against Blakouk who sits in 17,929 worldwide.

Malaikat Jihad, with an overall rank of 1,627,496, faces 40,942 ranked DavidG whjile rrcmc (33,959) must do bttle wirth shiregeriatrics (28,749).

Three managers in the world’s top 100 preparing for the first round include Sir Oux and High as a Keita, as well as 21st-place Ulrich Steinschweiger. They will face off against Iaoshi (28,400), Dele Alli Oxenfree! (433,860) and dkonis (22,480).

Anybody transferred in Sane? How confident are you?

I have and I'm not confident - regret going for the transfers tbh (for the first time this season)

        Why the regret?

        1. Don Kloppeone
          • 6 Years
          5 years, 4 months ago

Because it involved ditching Martial and Laporte - I was frustrated and half asleep when I did it and immediately regretted

I do now have mid that includes Salah, Haz and Sané with Kun up top but 2 of those 3 mids could end up not playing and Martial could feasibly haul vs SOU

Going to do it with WC. I see him getting as many minutes as Sterling or probably more with Mendy out. That extra 2m or so helps me to get a deeper bench for the inevitable Pep roulette

      • Eze Really?
        • 9 Years
        5 years, 4 months ago

He scores a point every 10 minutes so I have no issue with an enabler. Fraser and Ings in my case. Also Mendy out so he will play most games with Delph. Also Pep does not mind tiring out youngsters. Only concern will be the odd cameo

last season burnley had one mean defence. This season Hart collects more balls from inside his own net than the number of passes that whole team strings together.

Look at it like this, they're both a risk but which risk could bring more reward? (hazard trained wednesday, seems fit just not risked for yesterdays game)

Your choice obv but personally I'm holding on to Mané (and I have Salah as well), not only because he tends to do well against Everton but more so because Liverpool play Burnley and Bournemouth in their next two and I don't know about you, but personally I have positions that are more prioritized than removing offensive player from a top team before they're coming up against those two teams.

I do like Sané's fixture this week, but the next two after that aren't great. I'd look at the swap ahead of GW17.

        Whatever you choose, good luck!

Nothing to suggest this is a true way to show how players rest. Say he rests mid week he still has to play 6 games in 18 days anyway so doesn’t matter where the rest comes whether it’s a weekend or not has no impact

It matters when you play Chelsea then CL. If there is one game that makes more sence to bench your best players it shoud be the one directly before two big games not then one before Watford.

Second person was meant to be AWB. I'm more of a fixtures over form person and was very impressed with their Chelsea performance and Kane has been taking the number of shots I'll like to see of recent. Their defense has been solid this season and with Trip on set pieces, he could be the best asset of all of them. I have a decent enough bench to stomach the odd rotation

Bench order right here? Is it mad to go with 5 defenders?

      Ederson
      Alonso / TAA / Chilwell / Bennett / AWB
      Sterling (c) / Hazard / Mane / Richarlison
      Arnie

      Bench: Hamer, Mitro, Wilson, Hojbjerg

      Cheers
