Salah benched as Mane and Robertson miss out altogether

Six Premier League matches take place this evening to bring Gameweek 15 to a swift close, with many Fantasy Premier League captains – and vice-captains, following Sergio Aguero (£11.0m) and Raheem Sterling‘s (£11.5m) no-shows at Watford – set to be in action.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Harry Kane (£12.4m) and Eden Hazard (£11.0m) are the second, third and fourth-most popular captaincy options of this midweek round of matches – but just two of these in-demand players start for their respective clubs tonight.

Salah is only among the substitutes for Liverpool tonight as Jurgen Klopp rings the changes at Turf Moor, with injured pair Sadio Mane (£9.8m) and Andrew Robertson (£6.5m) not in the match-day squad and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.3m) and Roberto Firmino (£9.2m) also dropping to the bench.

Xherdan Shaqiri (£7.0m) lines up in a front three with Divock Origi (£5.0m) and Daniel Sturridge (£5.8m).

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.2m), who has experienced price rises in three consecutive days having been transferred in by over 525,000 FPL managers ahead of last night’s deadline, also lines up for Arsenal as the Gunners head to Old Trafford.

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.6m) is named as a substitute for the third match running as Unai Emery perseveres with a 3-4-2-1, while Jose Mourinho has dropped Romelu Lukaku (£10.7m) and Paul Pogba (£7.9m) to the bench as he matches the Gunners with a three-man backline.

Hazard is named in Chelsea’s starting XI along with Marcos Alonso (£7.1m) as the Blues head to Molineux, though there are five changes elsewhere in Maurizio Sarri’s starting XI.

Morgan Gibbs-White (£4.3m) replaces the suspended Ruben Neves (£5.0m) for Wolves, while Ryan Bennett (£4.2m) is recalled to Nuno Espirito Santo’s line-up.

Dele Alli (£8.9m) is among five players dropping out of Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI for the visit of Southampton, with Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) fit to play at right-back.

Kane and Christian Eriksen (£9.2m) retain their starts after Sunday’s north London derby defeat.

Kelvin Davis has made four changes to the Saints side in what will be his only match in charge, with the south coast club reverting to a flat-back four.

Richarlison (£7.0m) is back on the left wing for Everton as Cenk Tosun (£6.6m) returns up front, with Rafael Benitez going ultra-defensive with a 5-4-1 at Goodison Park.

Jamie Vardy (£8.9m) is absent through injury as Leicester head to Craven Cottage, with Tom Cairney (£4.8m) dropping to the bench for the hosts.

Back to the fixture where we started this round-up, Sean Dyche has made five changes to his Burnley starting XI as James Tarkowski (£4.7m) returns in defence.

Burnley XI: Hart, Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Gudmundsson, Cork, Westwood, Brady, Barnes, Wood.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Milner, Keita, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Origi.

Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Zouma, Mina, Digne, Gueye, Gomes, Lookman, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Tosun.

Newcastle United XI: Dubravka, Yedlin, Fernandez, Schar, Lascelles, Manquillo, Ki, Diame, Atsu, Rondon, Murphy.

Fulham XI: Rico, Christie, Odoi, Mawson, Le Marchand, Kamara, Chambers, Seri, Sessegnon, Vietto, Mitrovic.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan, Soyuncu, Chilwell, Mendy, Ndidi, Albrighton, Maddison, Diabete, Iheanacho.

Wolverhampton Wanderers XI: Rui Patricio, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Moutinho, Saiss, Vinagre, Gibbs-White, Jota, Jimenez.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, Alonso, Kante, Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek, Willian, Morata, Hazard.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Dalot, Bailly, Rojo, Smalling, Darmian, Herrera, Matic, Lingard, Martial, Rashford.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Bellerin, Sokratis, Holding, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Torreira, Ramsey, Iwobi, Aubameyang.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Foyth, Rose, Dier, Winks, Eriksen, Son, Lucas, Kane.

Southampton XI: McCarthy, Cedric, Yoshida, Stephens, Targett, Hojbjerg, Davis, Redmond, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, Gabbiadini.

I did similar. Already had Auba, but I did Salah Arnie to Felipe kane. Both transfers in have amazing fixtures, Kane is a good captaincy option, and if Felipe fails (which I hope he won’t wapecially given short term fixtures), I plan to get rich in 3 weeks or so as well

Could work great, or Mane could punish. Certainly some players sold for -4 are going to dish out some pain this weekend. Equally it could work out brilliantly for you. Good luck!

Anyone else finally dropped Salah after this gameweek?

Did it to fund Kane in personally, but Salah just wasn’t getting it done for 13m. Kane fixtures are pretty dreamy

      Captaining Salah after his rest

I was so confident about my Salah captain this week with his early sub last week and the fixture.

That didn’t turn out so well, and it made it easier to drop

        1. Hits from the Bong
          • 5 Years

His early sub when they needed a goal tho..

Ditto - changed him to captain over Kane after his early sub. Oops.

Keeping him for one more week though - fancy him for more points than most others this week. He may well disappoint though.

I've sold tonight despite the rest. I've waited 15 gameweeks for 1 double digit score and for 13m that is not good enough. He will score no doubt against Bournemouth but lord than likely 7-8 points and you will probably get that off a 7.5 ish priced midfielder. I've had him all season and I think especially over Christmas that money will be vital spread around squad

Absolutely no idea what to do. Was planning a hit involving Salah and Arnie out for a City mid and an Arsenal forward but surely can't do that now that Salah's been rested. Any ideas?

    Patricio
    Alonso, Robertson, Doherty, Balbuena
    Salah, David Silva, Martial, Richarlison
    Kane, Wilson

    Hamer; Arnautovic, Kenedy, Wan-Bissaka.

Why are people considering Arsenal defence all of a sudden? They've only kept 2 CS all season and their defence was comical for the 2 goals they conceded against United
