Salah benched as Mane and Robertson miss out altogether

Six Premier League matches take place this evening to bring Gameweek 15 to a swift close, with many Fantasy Premier League captains – and vice-captains, following Sergio Aguero (£11.0m) and Raheem Sterling‘s (£11.5m) no-shows at Watford – set to be in action.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Harry Kane (£12.4m) and Eden Hazard (£11.0m) are the second, third and fourth-most popular captaincy options of this midweek round of matches – but just two of these in-demand players start for their respective clubs tonight.

Salah is only among the substitutes for Liverpool tonight as Jurgen Klopp rings the changes at Turf Moor, with injured pair Sadio Mane (£9.8m) and Andrew Robertson (£6.5m) not in the match-day squad and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£5.3m) and Roberto Firmino (£9.2m) also dropping to the bench.

Xherdan Shaqiri (£7.0m) lines up in a front three with Divock Origi (£5.0m) and Daniel Sturridge (£5.8m).

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.2m), who has experienced price rises in three consecutive days having been transferred in by over 525,000 FPL managers ahead of last night’s deadline, also lines up for Arsenal as the Gunners head to Old Trafford.

Alexandre Lacazette (£9.6m) is named as a substitute for the third match running as Unai Emery perseveres with a 3-4-2-1, while Jose Mourinho has dropped Romelu Lukaku (£10.7m) and Paul Pogba (£7.9m) to the bench as he matches the Gunners with a three-man backline.

Hazard is named in Chelsea’s starting XI along with Marcos Alonso (£7.1m) as the Blues head to Molineux, though there are five changes elsewhere in Maurizio Sarri’s starting XI.

Morgan Gibbs-White (£4.3m) replaces the suspended Ruben Neves (£5.0m) for Wolves, while Ryan Bennett (£4.2m) is recalled to Nuno Espirito Santo’s line-up.

Dele Alli (£8.9m) is among five players dropping out of Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI for the visit of Southampton, with Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) fit to play at right-back.

Kane and Christian Eriksen (£9.2m) retain their starts after Sunday’s north London derby defeat.

Kelvin Davis has made four changes to the Saints side in what will be his only match in charge, with the south coast club reverting to a flat-back four.

Richarlison (£7.0m) is back on the left wing for Everton as Cenk Tosun (£6.6m) returns up front, with Rafael Benitez going ultra-defensive with a 5-4-1 at Goodison Park.

Jamie Vardy (£8.9m) is absent through injury as Leicester head to Craven Cottage, with Tom Cairney (£4.8m) dropping to the bench for the hosts.

Back to the fixture where we started this round-up, Sean Dyche has made five changes to his Burnley starting XI as James Tarkowski (£4.7m) returns in defence.

Burnley XI: Hart, Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Gudmundsson, Cork, Westwood, Brady, Barnes, Wood.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Milner, Keita, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Origi.

Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Zouma, Mina, Digne, Gueye, Gomes, Lookman, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Tosun.

Newcastle United XI: Dubravka, Yedlin, Fernandez, Schar, Lascelles, Manquillo, Ki, Diame, Atsu, Rondon, Murphy.

Fulham XI: Rico, Christie, Odoi, Mawson, Le Marchand, Kamara, Chambers, Seri, Sessegnon, Vietto, Mitrovic.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan, Soyuncu, Chilwell, Mendy, Ndidi, Albrighton, Maddison, Diabete, Iheanacho.

Wolverhampton Wanderers XI: Rui Patricio, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Moutinho, Saiss, Vinagre, Gibbs-White, Jota, Jimenez.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, Alonso, Kante, Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek, Willian, Morata, Hazard.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Dalot, Bailly, Rojo, Smalling, Darmian, Herrera, Matic, Lingard, Martial, Rashford.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Bellerin, Sokratis, Holding, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Torreira, Ramsey, Iwobi, Aubameyang.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Foyth, Rose, Dier, Winks, Eriksen, Son, Lucas, Kane.

Southampton XI: McCarthy, Cedric, Yoshida, Stephens, Targett, Hojbjerg, Davis, Redmond, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, Gabbiadini.

The appeal is that he scored the most goals, has (joint) 3rd most points, and has favourable fixtures.

There's 2 games he came on as a sub for 29 mins. He scored 2 goals in both of them. Honestly, I wouldn't be worried about him being on the bench.

Say what? his stats are nothing to shout about? He was the first player since 2007 to score with 10 consecutive shots on target last w/end.. or do you mean his cards recd stats? Which I agree, they don't look good on paper, he's recd none!

Good chance he's rested this weekend, but they have a vibrant attack and good fixtures. Would be surprised if he doesn't score multiple goals in at least one of them.

Went with Alonso and Arnie to Kolasinac and Laca instead of Hazard and Arnie to Anderson and Auba

Main reasons are not confident enough of Auba starting so wouldnt captain him(would Laca because of the rest, and always starts vs easier opposition), and I just have a feeling about Hazard that it would be a mistake to sell him

    What do you think ?

He lasted fifteen weeks in my team, but I've finally pulled the trigger on selling Salah. He had steady returns for the most part but only one glimpse of the explosiveness of last season. Still, for my money, the only Liverpool attacker worth investing in but think I can go without Liverpool for a while.

Salah + Arnie -> Sane + Auba confirmed.

    Fabianski Boruc
    Alonso Robertson Doherty Diop AWB
    Sterling Sane Sigurdsson Pereyra Anguissa
    Kane Auba Jimenez

Next on the agenda, tempted to downgrade Alonso to Tripper (injury allowing) or failing that, Laporte, and using the spare funds to improve my fifth midfielder for the busy Christmas period. 20k OR, still recovering from the travesty of GW13.

How "out of favour?!" He's one of Pep's first choice CB's!!

As soon as Ota was fit he came in. Games are frequent at this point of the season, Laporte and OTA rested so I doubt he plays the next game?

Too afraid to get Aubameyang, what if he gets rested? I am thinking I should get Lacazette instead

he has played a part in every game so far this season, so its unlikely he'll play no part in a very winnable game with Arsenal playing catch up vs the top 4

For those with/bringing in kane/aubameyang, are you planning to captain pretty much every week (set and forget captain) for foreseeable future?

Starting to doubt my plan of captaining a city mid (sterling/sane) every week and going without a premium striker as I don't know i'd captain the premium striker every week and would rather spread the funds.

Well done to kane owners. Auba owners- feel that next week it will all even out, chin up.

Brought Kane in this GW and Auba/Laca next. Plan is to rotate captaincy with those and Sterling.

Yeah, here's hoping. That's a big IF though 🙂 Hazard is the one making way to enable that. He is still putting good stats and good fixtures coming up. Morata out of confidence and Arsenal scored well in their previous run of easy fixtures.

    Bench order okay this week?

    Fabianski
    Alonso Robertson Doherty
    Sterling Sane Richarlison Fraser
    Kane Aubameyang(c) Wilson

    Hamer Camarasa Dunk AWB

Hard to say, a lot of your players have tough fixtures this week, but you don't want to bench the wrong one. Good team but might be a rough week for you if Liverpool win to nil and the City game is a tight 0-1/1-1

55 pts. Dropped 800 or so, been stuck in the 20Ks for a few weeks. Enjoyed the first 10 weeks of the season, now it's turning into the usual grind-it-out-athon.

After 8 points on Tuesday and my captain benched I'm delighted to end on 48 this gameweek and just about stay in the top 10k.

Is it worth taking out Duffy for Bellerin or TAA for a minus 4?

    Current team is:

    Fabianski

    Alonso, Doherty, Robertson

Salah (c), Sterling, F Anderson, Richarlison

    Wilson, Auba, Jimenez

    Hamer, AWB, Duffy, Obiang.

Would mean benching Alonso or Wilson

I missed the price changes but still what would you do?

    A) Arnie to Chicharito for free
    B) Arnie + Cairney to Laca + 4.3mid for a hit

    Patricio.
    Robertson, Alonso, Laporte.
    Sane, Sterling, Felipe, Rich.
    Arnie, Mitro, Kane.
    Foster, Doherty, AWB, CHO.
    1ft, 0.0m ITB

    Arnie -> Wilson probably?
