Kane and Eriksen benched for Spurs trip to Leicester

Harry Kane (£12.5m) owners are in despair after he was named on the bench for tonight’s game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettio has shuffled his pack ahead of Tottenham’s crunch tie against Barcelona on Tuesday night. Midfield maestro Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) is another who finds himself on the bench.

Son Heung-min (£8.4m) looks set to lead the line in Kane’s absence. The South Korean has been in fine form in recent weeks with two goals and an assist in his last three appearances. It will be no surprise to see him register more attacking returns tonight.

Ben Davies (£5.6m) starts ahead of Danny Rose (£5.8m) while Dele Alli (£8.9m) comes back in to the starting XI having come off the bench against Southampton in Gameweek 15. Jan Vertonghen (£5.9m) also returns having served his suspension.

Harry Maguire (£5.4m) is named amongst the substitutes for Leicester City. Kelechi Iheanacho (£5.9m) leads the line again in the absence of the injured Jamie Vardy (£8.9m).

James Maddison (£6.8m) owners will be hoping he can find the back of the net for the third consecutive Gameweek. He’s likely to be on spot kick duty if the Foxes are to be awarded one.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Pereira, Morgan, Evans, Chilwell, Mendy, Ndidi, Iborra, Maddison, Gray, Iheanacho.

            Nows the time if you are going to, always the threat he will be dropped. I like him as a fantasy option, so attacking and arsenal great fixtures if they can string together a run of cleanies he will be fantasy gold.

    Think asking advice on transfers before the midweek games have played seems pointless, a lot will decide on how many minutes players get midweek. Seeing moves like Salah > Sterling when Liverpool will have two extra days rest than city and playing Man Utd at home is a favourable fixture for Liverpool.

    Just shows you that class tells.

    So much talk on here over the last month of getting rid of Chelsea assets like Alonso and Hazard and even Salah for the likes of Sterling and Auba, whom I'd love to own but cannot afford unless Hazard or Salah go.

    I'm keeping both. Keep class players they will pay you back long term.

    Play the differential game with cheaper players around the core.

    Hindsight sucks. Should have just stuck with my initial gut feeling: Arnie > Chicharito. FOMO (Arsenal) got the better of me. Lesson learned.

    My plan was going Salah to Sterling for GW17 and upgrade Success to Chicha/ Mitro (play 4-3-3)

    I know you are probably shaken by Salah hattrick but:

    Sterling Chicha > Salah Success in next month?

      Salah won't hat trick every week. He has been reliable without hauling until this week, and Sterling with less game time was outscoring him.

      It is tough. They are both quality players.

      Assessing the pair is interesting. You are trying to capture the value proposition which is great. Too many on here weeks ago were competing Mane and Salah without a good consideration of the return generated from the extra 3.5m they could invest elsewhere.

      Sterling, Chica will easily outscore Salah, Success.

      I don't think Success is the right foil. New manage favourite Kamara is the budget striker of choice for me, while success represents 2pts/week bench fodder.

      Still I think
      Sterling, Chica will outscore Salah, Kamara but it is a closer contest.

      Chica is an on form striker who is fairly safe to start with Arnie out and it is his points not Sterling's that tip the scales for me.

        Think I will play 4-3-3 now. I am glad for Salah 3 goals and while everybody is buying him I will sell. But I think this is the way. Being without no City attacker is also dangerous.
