Captains

Vote in the Captain Poll for Gameweek 22

Mohamed Salah (£13.3m), Eden Hazard (£11.1m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.4m) could be set to do battle for the Gameweek 22 captaincy this week.

You can now vote in the poll below, or in the sidebar, as well as watch our latest captain video on YouTube.

Liverpool travel to Brighton in the hope of getting their title challenge back to winning ways after losing to Manchester City last time out.

In spite of a blank at the Etihad Stadium, only Son Heung-min (£8.8m) has better form than Salah right now, according to the official FPL site.

The Egyptian has three double-figure hauls in his last four Premier League outings, four goals and two assists in his last four away matches.

With Liverpool still in exciting goal-scoring form, Salah’s colleague Roberto Firmino (£9.2m) may also be looked at, with four goals in his last two matches.

However, Hazard should provide stronger competition for Salah, as Chelsea host a Newcastle side still allowing plenty of chances to their opponents.

The Belgian may have blanked in his last two matches and be without a league goal at Stamford Bridge since Gameweek 7, but his underlying data still looks promising, as Fantasy Football Scout members found out recently.

Also providing a compelling case for the captaincy is Arsenal striker Aubameyang, with goals in three of his last four matches.

Meanwhile, West Ham are still without a clean sheet at home since Gameweek 6, when they frustrated Chelsea in a 0-0 draw. Since then, they have conceded 1.88 goals per match at the London Stadium.

Elsewhere, recent high-performing assets at Spurs and Manchester United may be discounted based on the fact that the two sides go head-to-head at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester City options have underwhelmed in recent weeks and they may end up going under the radar once again in Gameweek 22 as Wolves come to the Etihad Stadium.

The newly-promoted side has already frustrated Pep Guardiola’s men once this season, in the 1-1 draw at Molineux back in Gameweek 3. Wolves are also building a reputation for being more defensively sound away from home than in front of their own fans. The only sides to have conceded fewer goals on the road than Wolves this season are Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City themselves.

    No Pool attacking coverage, so;

Alonso, Son > Laporte, Mane -4

    Worth it?

Laporte is not good value, Mané could be with Liverpools fixture. Pool defender? TAA? Or go to the 5m defender bracket, pereira/digne/kola/ or Luiz 5.9?

With Lovren out, and being on a wildcard, I'm debating going for Gomez now and letting him sit on the bench for a week.

I'll definitely want him in my team in a week or two anyway and I have the squad to cover for a week or two without him if needed

I don't think it's really that risky though.
Part of my thinking is that Shaw, who I would probably otherwise own, will be on my bench this week anyway

not sure liv defence will be less solid with Fabinho if he must play a game or two so can´t see your logic. Lloris at 5.4 could be a gem, Spurs have 4 CS in last 6 games and nice fixtures, if you want an alternative.

Dont wildcard - what would you wildcard to? Your team is very similar to mine except I have Salah rather than Hazard.

Salah is the big risk for you but you can’t have them all so you have to choose which risk you want to take. No city isn’t a big issue this week in my opinion due to their relatively low ownership (that could all change when they start firing again)

    Fabianski / Hamer
    TAA / Digne / Robertson / Doherty / Bennet

    Jiminez / Auba / Rashford

    Thoughts?

Yeah you probably do need to move away from the triple UTD, and Liverpool should be good long term but expect Son to punish this week. Think Spurs should score 2 or 3 against that United defence.

    From twitter.
Excuses made by big-time bosses versus Wolves.

    Guardiola: "Ball was rubbish"
Pochettino: "We were tired" (despite winning 4 games immediately before and 2 games after)
    Klopp: "It was windy"

What next? Fireworks too noisy? Centre circle not big enough? Mascot looks shifty?

I also think there was a misunderstanding between VVD and Lovren in the last match. Leading to the latter faking an injury. Maybe they do not enjoy playing together. Fabinho as cover is not good news to me,however, I will keep the two Liverpool defensive assets at my disposal. I hope Gomez and Matip return on time.

I feel I should make a Public Service Announcement

I always try to comment on other people’s posts and give advice etc

On the other hand I always check out other members’ FPL track record and current OR/ performance before jumping on advice.

Therefore given my highest season finish is 38k OR and the last 6 weeks have seen me drop from 30k to 300k I would take what I say/ advise with a pinch of salt 😆

Good news for all with double LIV defence, chances of CS have greatly improved now with Lovren out 😉

Want to bring in Salah next gw, would appreciate some out of the box thoughts.

        Current lineup.

        Fab
        Rob Alonso Digne Awb (Bennet)
        Haz FAnderson Pogba Son (Hoj)
        Auba Kane (Success)

        1.5itb 1FT.

Plan is to take out Son+Alonso+FAnderson --> Salah, Shaw, Delofeu/Kante/Iwobi/Camarasa.

sounds decent...with Deulofeu or Camarasa as mids.
Can't see why everyone here like Shaw so much though, there are much better picks even at that price point

Fair point there, but who else besides Shaw tho?
