Sané misses out on starting XI after Double Gameweek disappointment

Leroy Sané (£9.6m) is the man to fall foul of Pep Guardiola’s rotation policy for their big game against Chelsea today.

The German international has been named on the bench for the Gameweek 26 clash at the Etihad Stadium, continuing a frustrating spell for his owners after he scored just point in Double Gameweek 25.

Starting on the flanks of Manchester City’s three-man attack are Raheem Sterling (£11.3m) and Bernardo Silva (£7.5m).

Having scored a hat-trick in his last Etihad Stadium appearance, Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) keeps his place at the spearhead of Manchester City’s line.

Kevin de Bruyne (£9.7m), Fernandinho (£5.3m) and Ilkay Gündogan (£5.4m) are the central midfield trio, with David Silva (£8.5m) on the bench.

Double Gameweek 25 star Aymeric Laporte (£5.9m) keeps his place in the team once again but is back in more familiar surroundings as Guardiola has selected him at centre-back, after two outings on the left.

Next to him is John Stones (£5.2m), with Oleksandr Zinchenko (£4.7m) and Kyle Walker (£6.4m) on the flanks.

There are fewer surprises in the Chelsea line-up as Pedro (£6.3m) joins Eden Hazard (£10.9m) and Gonzalo Higuain (£9.5m) in their front three.

Manchester City XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko; Gündogan, Fernandinho, De Bruyne; B Silva, Agüero, Sterling.

Chelsea XI (4-3-3): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rüdiger, David Luiz, Alonso; Kanté, Jorginho, Barkley; Pedro, Higuaín, Hazard.

I actually think it's easier to deal with these type of swings,

Holding Auba for last GW instead of a somewhat risky transfer to Aguero who wasn't nailed and not really delivering his usual returns / underlying stats was completely fine move, given that Auba then faced hud, SOT, BOU.

Auba then getting ill and flagged meaning the Aguero movers either held onto him or went with Laca or Firmino who both delivered points is just a horrible kick in the teeth from the FPL gods.

Just remember it's all variance, if you replayed these two GWs 10000 times what's happened would be at the absolute extreme of possible outcomes.

        You are completely right.

Kun shows none of this promise over previous weeks so anyone banging on about it being an obvious move having him are deluded.

He barely used to make 60 minutes!

Yeah GW 18-24 he had good but unspectacular stats; 7th among forwards for xG, 10th for shots in box.

Of course you're getting 2x that in DGW 25 so for those with an extra free transfer and no other issues he was a good differential punt but it was far from a no-brainer and two hattricks was absolutely not 'coming'.

That's a load of rubbish. Klopp may not be blessed with magicians like De Bruyne and the Silva's but he has player that suit his style a lot better. There's not much difference between the quality of the squads all things considered. If Fernandinho gets injured again, City are screwed.

I've had him since before Christmas, was guessing a timeframe without looking at stats. Main point is that I was happy with him but I'm glad he's gone for sure.

That’s the misconception, no one should have been happy with Sané for a long, long time - yet people were because they were blinded by his Man City shirt - he has underperformed his price tag for months
