How FPL managers plan to tackle Blank Gameweek 31

Fantasy Football Scout users are keen to find out the consensus on many issues connected with Blank Gameweek 31.

Most of us have either two or three remaining free transfers before that depleted round of action, so time is running out to prepare for it.

In our first week of Fantasy Premier League Think Tank articles, we have received some great polls that you want answers for.

We have embedded them in the article below so you can all cast your votes to each question.

Hopefully, it will help us get a feel for how the FFS community plans to tackle the biggest talking points in FPL right now.

TrippierHazard has asked us to register what our current thoughts are on the chip strategy for Blank and Doubles season.

With the Free Hit perhaps one of the most important chips during this year’s ‘chip season’, Pranavs9 has asked when the best time to deploy it is.

Both AK and ladsandlasses were interested to see how we were approaching the Liverpool triple-up…

MikeBravo has been wondering what the consensus is on the out-of-form Felipe Anderson (£7.2m) considering his fixtures in both Blank Gameweeks.

The_Fish has been looking at those who aren’t playing in those Blanks, especially those who we have valued tied up in.

Dan United and shaun_drift are keen to know how many players managers will be planning to field in Blank Gameweek 31.

Said_LFC and Kiwivillain have been thinking about how managers will facilitate those Blank Gameweek 31 squads in relation to the free transfers available between now and then.

KOPKLOPPERS is asking what our thoughts are on Everton, who haven’t exactly thrilled Fantasy managers of late but do play in Blank Gameweeks 31 and 33.

mcbain1234 has a question about the Triple Captain chip, which, as yet, does not have an obvious home this season…

Finally, like many of us, Vobinho has been looking at West Ham options and wonders what we are thinking about Marko Arnautovic (£6.8m).

I'm thinking Clyne or Smith, but leaning towards Smith for greater goal threat (admittedly not recently).

Do you really need a 5th defender for GWs 31 and 33?

Adam Smith or Clyne I guess.

Has anyone got a Crystal Ball to tell me if it is worth a -4 and a 0.4 loss in value to take out Rashford this week? 0.5 in the bank.

A - Yes and spend the money on King / Barnes or Wilson
B - No - He will get a few attacking returns and dont sell next week either
C- No - do it next week in conjunction with Aguero to bring in Higuain and Vardy

Bottomed. Which is the best option here?

Basically wondering if I should guard against potential price changes.

    A) Rice (can afford precisely now)

    B) Diop (allows for potential Mane/Hazard rise or Son/Sterling drop next week, which could scupper my Son/Sterling to Mane/Hazard transfers)

    Is Diop nailed?

    Hope that makes sense!

    Thanks

I might have a new plan.
    Currently I want to do:
    A) Doherty, Jimenez and Anderson -> Ake, Vardy and Brooks (-4)

    new plan :
    B) Pogba, Jimenez -> Brooks, Vardy

I would lose 0.2 on Pogba and still have my FH for GW 32 and WC for 34 to get him back. If I go for option B than I will be able to get Hazard in for Son so thah might be more interesting?

Yep, more games will be added

Plus if you FH in 31, there is a chance of poor performance in 32 or 33

Cheers holmes. Any idea how many games to be added?
Would it be better fielding 6 players in gw31 to save FH chip for 32?

        1. Holmes
          • 10 Years
          5 years, 1 month ago

Not sure yet as it depends on FA cup result. I guess 3-4 games will be added including likes of Man City/Chelsea/Spurs.

Maybe take couple of hits to get more players for GW31? Looking at fixtures, I think 6-8 players will be enough for GW31

Can someone explain to me why so many people voted for GW32 for the FH? I have my bench boost activated for this week, and was planning on using my FH for 31 (given the lack of games available and that my entire friendly league has already used their free hits/ will surely drop points with players not playing). What is the reasoning behind GW32? Simply due to United's DGW, or for other reasons?

    1. Pork Pie Sausage Roll
      • 13 Years
      5 years, 1 month ago

Because of 33 being another blank, and similar teams playing in it to 31. It’s an easy way to get max coverage for all of 31 32 and 33 if you build your team for 31 (and therefore also 33) and then free hit in an entirely different squad for 32

I've built for 31/33 with hits to get XI out in each (need Watford to beat Palace in the Cup though). Will free hit in 32 and go from 34 as normal with a TC in DGW 35. Am BBing this GW as I should have 15 players with good points potential.
