Rough: Did not do -4 for Doherty to Daniels which I will end up doing this week anyway, another blank from all 3 defenders (3rd week in a row)
SMOOTH: Hitting over 100pts for first time (110) without using a chip or any hits. Captain Sterling, Mane, Vardy, Jimenez, Lacazette, Hazard all performing amazing. Huge green arrow 70k-> 16k

Luckily Camarasa, Sterling, Hazard and Salah (C) brought a bit of joy with Vardy too.
77 points in total though starting Arnie before Jimi and benching Kolasinac didn't pan out as planned.

Can't grumble but there was potential for a much bigger score. I'm sure I'm not on my own when I admit giving Sterling the captaincy for most of the week until Saturday morning 😀 I'll learn one day

Got a surprising green arrow with Kun (c). Mane Haz and Jimmy recused me. Used my two FT not well at all and only gained one point from it. Put me with a headache this week... mad at myself as was so well set up proir to moves.

Smooth - Forced transfer of Lloris to Boruc (due to GW31 planning) paid off! As did keeping Wilson for the last six weeks. +Sterling.

Rough - Digne on my bench matching the rest of my playing defence. JWP on my bench outscoring the rest of my midfield other than Sterling.

A nice smooth which doesn't involve owning or captaining Sterling.

Did Son and Jimenez to Vardy and Maddison for a 13 point profit and 2 players who play in the blanks.

Also had Almiron chip in along with Mane and captain Kun.

Smooth - Went from 512k -> 460k with a score of 59. Sterling & Jimenez in the points.
Rough - Captained Aguero over Sterling. Kept Son as I went to St Mary's. Double Liverpool defence fail.

Smooth: All attackers did well, including (C) Vardy and autosub Jimenez (Alonso no show...not so great for next GW though). Sterling hattrick and Fraser haul was nice too.

Rough: GK and 3 defenders got a total of 2 points (1,1,1 and -1).

88 points - Sterling (c), Mane, Vardy, every one else including my bench blanked.

Truth be told, I think luck played a big part in my smooth. If it wasn't for the BGW31 planning - I would not have had Mane, Vardy in my team.

Held Sterling until now, so that counts as good planning too I suppose.

Smooth: Took a -8 to do Auba, Pogba & Son > Sterling (c), Hazard & King.

Assuming I'd have captained Salah otherwise (my lack of trust in him is why I moved for Sterling), that's a 32 point swing even factoring in the hit.

Rough: sold Jiminez for King and benched H.Barnes instead of Arnie - those 10 points lost would have put me on 100 exactly.

Smooth: Sterling, Mané captain, Vardy, Hazard all massively paying off, giving my GW29 wildcard another huge payoff.

Smooth: Sterling (C) & Rondon single handedly saved my gameweek. No one else returned anything

Rough: Agonised for ages about the correct Liverpool triple up and wanted a Bournemouth striker. I bottled the Wilson decision based on Howe's comments and bought TAA & King rather than Mane & Wilson. Only by GW34 will I know if it was the wrong decision for the blanks. Stuck with a Felipe Anderson in terrible form and Perreira has been a horrendous pick so far.

My 11.20 transfer of Son -> Mané (c) netted me 22 points. Crazy.

Smooth: 78pts put me 3K OR on saturday, down to 5k OR by end of yesterday. Salah as captain as well, so pleased with contribution of all midfield and my squad selection.

Rough: 3 man defence of TAA, Robbo and Chilwell scored 5 points. Thinking LC defensive assets could be a bandwagon I jumped on rather than making sense. WIll BR sort them out? TAA and Robbo was a blip - it happens!

Dilemma - all chips available and how to set up for next few weeks. Have 10 for GW31. GW32 squad looks ok so even toying with saving FH till later in the game to shore up any anomalies (players being rested for cup etc)

My 15th captain of the season Vardy delivered alongside Sterling, Rondon, Mane & Hazard. Five players delivering 88 points!
Rough: -1,0,0,01,1,1,1,1,2 rest of my team and bench, mental!

Smooth: Rather successful wildcard. brought in hazard, mane, vardy for Pog, Son and FAnderson
Rough: Kun (c) Sterling (vc) will haunt me for the rest of the season.... 32 points lost there
Ended up on 86 points. Rose from 150k to 70k so my 30k target is well on course

Rough: everyone else: Fabs, Lascelles, Robbo, TAA, Salah, Son, Pog, Rash and Arnie: 14 points.

85 all out. Bizarre really as only 4 players contributed: Salah, Vardy, Fraser and Sterling (c). Had some good luck with Sterlings offside goal opening the floodgates; and some bad luck with Doherty conceding in the 93rd minute, to Hazard of all people, a player I don't own with decent ownership, Mane (non owner) scoring in the 93rd minute, and Mane missing a TAA (owner) assisted chance which had a xG of 95%!

Up to 123k now. Seems to me that the biggest rises and falls this season, both for my team and for others, is entirely related to which City player feels good on a given day. I've had huge negative swings missing out on Aguero in GW2, GW25 and GW26, but also huge positive swings in GW11, GW13, GW14 and GW30 by captaining Sterling.

The answer was probably to own the pair of them all season.

Rough:
- No Liverpool attack, and only 3 pts combined from Pool defenders, Robertson and Alexander-Arnold, thanks to a foul on Alisson during a Burnley corner.
- Held onto Martial through only 94 minutes played in the previous 6 gameweeks to find him fit but benched against a supposedly torrid Arsenal defence. He came on way too late to make a difference and scored a final 1pt goodbye present.

Smooth:
+ I own Aguero (5) and Sterling (21), and successfully captained Sterling (42) 😀
+ Hazard's injury time goal scoring him 8pts extra (10 total)
+ Played Boruc (6) over Patricio (3) and Kante (2) over Clyne (1)
+ Persuaded rival Jia You Jia You to captain Vardy instead of Sterling as I thought it would give me an advantage https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/20000607). This conniving plan initially backfired, with Jia You feeling fairly smug after Vardy's 16 pointer (https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/20007512). But thanks to Sterling's haul, it ended up costing him 5pts (https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/20009050). These points could be crucial seeing as he again extended his lead with a total of 94 pts anyway
+ 76 pts total for me. 24k > 13k

Rough: this season I can't hit a score above 80pts. 65pts after Saturday with 6 players on Sunday. They mustered 12pts between them to bring me to 77pts. Schär 10th yellow card that leaves me with the choice to take a -4 to field 8 players in BGW31 or to take a -8 to have 9 players. Absolutely in rage.

Smooth: Sterling captain, Vardy and Boruc CS accounting for nearly 3/4 of my points.

Smooth - Vardy transfer in, Mane, Rondón(!) and Sterling giving me 80pts and upto 291. Rough - had armband on Raheem until Thursday night and then bottled it for Mo.

Preferring Higuain/Hazard over Vardy/Sterling for my free transfers hurt... Jimenez and Jota saved the day though...

Rough: 7 point from my back 5.
Benched 22 points including Richarlison goal against my own keeper.

Smooth: 49 from my front 6, 56 all out and a small (1k) green arrow to 35k. Set up with 10 for GW31 at least too.

Smooth : 64(-4)not too bad

Rough : 19points on the bench. The 13th time I've had double digit points sitting on the bench this season

Rough: Shocking 4 points from defenders and gk. Small annoyance at not getting Wilson due to fitness concerns.

Smooth: 114 points from everyone else for 118 and nice symmetry 118 gw rank.

99 points despite my keeper and defenders scoring a massive 6 points between them, and captaining Salah. Gone from 44k to 8k in the last 5 weeks now, despite transferring in "GW31 dross" during this time that was supposed to cripple my team and rank according to some......

Finished on 93 points after also having Rondon, Jiminez, Richarlison.

In the last 8 gameweeks I have gone form 57k to 2k so thats the real smooth here

Smooth - Stelring (C), Fraser, Vardy, Mane and Jimenez and a cheeky Salah Assist were all very welcomed.
Rough - Not a fat lot - Benching Kolasinac and playing Doherty was my 1 minor slip up.

104 points jumping from 85,000 to 25,000 after only hitting top 100,000 first time this season in wk 29.

It's been all rough since the new year, dropping from 13k to 278k (until this week).

Rough - Got in Boruc for a hit this week in case Guaita doesn't play (and for 31 & 33) but ending up benching him and starting Guaita.

Smooth - 113 (-4) giving me a huge season saving green back up to 93k. Last weeks captain villain turned into this week's hero (no prizes for guessing who)!

Removed Vardy for Rashford on wildcard, silly mistake from me as I did not realize Vardy had Fulham at home, and got Rashford for his double.

Switched armband from Sterling to Kun in the last hour, due to Kun being the pen taker.

Rough only this week - couldn't decide on which Cherries assets so went safe and brought in King and Brooks (5 points, vs 23 points when compared to Fraser and Wilson). Played Fabianski (2 points) instead of Boruc (6 points) and had Jimenez smiling at me from the bench (8 points). Changed captain from Mane (possible 28 points) to Kun (10 points) 10 minutes before deadline. Total lost points = 48. Total actual score for the week = 42 points. Sheesh.

Smooth: Pogba -> Fraser. Sterling C. 89 points, 22k -> 8k in rank. Caught my mini league leader by 53 points!

Smooth: 98 points from my first ten players including sterling captaincy, vardy, jimenez, mane (no salah) hazard.
Rough: pogba couldn't get me two points to make a century!

Roughs - Double Liv defence, Diop, Pogba, King... and Bench boosted for a grand total of 4 points!

Ended on 83 points though, third green in a row up from 250K to 150K

Smooth - Got rid of Aubamayang and Sterling last week for Vardy and Sterling

Smooth - Needed a rank jump and chasing my ML leader (43 points behind), so went for Sterling Captain (now 9 points behind)

Smooth - Refused to drop Jimenez where many others did

Rough - had TAA and Robertson but no clean sheet

82 points, rank jump from 90,000 ish to 40,000 ish....

Top 10,000 may just about still be possible with all chips in tact

A minor "smooth" this week for me. Decided to make an aggressive move & took a -8.

Son, Kolasinac, Jiminez, Jota OUT for Mane, TrentAA, Vardy and Brooks.

By my count i'm definitely up & also have 4 more for the blanks. It hurt getting rid of Jimi but I was prepared to buy him back if necseasry at some point.

Hopefully they will repay more over time

Well done those who cap'd Sterling but what a risky punt - I guess I take comfort from the fact that future risky decisions will not work out and the points will be made up.

Strange week as i thought my week was bad, buti got from 16 k to 12k so it was good after all. Guess 65 points without Sterling has to be considered a good week perhaps.

Smooth was my intention but rough is my default. Vardy and Fraser in : Rashford and Jota out for a hit. Somehow forgot to save my team before existing browser so Fraser sat on my bench for a -4.

Finally a green (first in 12 weeks) .....

My wife and I play in the same FPL mini-league, with a separate bet each week on our head-to-head score. Winner gets a fancy dinner the following GW made by the loser. While I'm out front overall this season, she has been all green arrows recently up to 5th in our ML. This past week was definitely smooth for her and pretty rough for me.

Me: managed exactly the average of 48 thanks mostly due to smooths from Vardy, Jimenez and Aguero (c). Rough was getting only a combined 9 points from my 7 defenders and mids ( Pogba, Son, FAnderson, Robbo, TAA, Wan-Bissaka, and Fabianski). Even rougher was 19 points on the bench from Boruc, Kolasinac, Westwood, and Schindler. Should have bench boosted!

My lovely wife: very smooth with 86 points overall including Mane (c), Sterling, Fraser, Jimenez, Boruc, and Aguero. She bested my whole team score with just two players (Mane and Sterling). Joe, got any fancy dinner recipes you recommend?
