Fantasy Premier League managers are encouraged to use the Fantasy Football Scout members’ area if they are planning to tackle Blank Gameweek 33 with the Free Hit chip.

This is the first instalment in a two-part series considering this tactic for the weekend’s depleted round of fixtures.

We have run comparisons on the top options from the four positions ahead of Blank Gameweek 33, using the data available to us in the members’ area.

In this article, we will be looking at the goalkeepers and defenders together.

        I do have doubts over not having Mane and over Higuain not starting and whether to get Lacazette before likely price rise tonight (as plan to get on WC) but yes you are probably right!

    I have a question that I think will be more relevant next week (when a lot of wildcards are in play) but I'm interested in some early thoughts. If you're chasing something like a 50pts + gap in a mini league what sort of things should you now be considering?

    Getting a few differentials asap?
    Avoiding as many players as your opponent owns as possible?
    Going a bit different on captaincy?
    Going aggressive now or leaving it to the last 3 or 4 game weeks?
    Or simply play it cool and hope they falter?

    Appreciate your thoughts, as well as any past successful come back stories you might have? 🙂

      Think just play your own game and instincts and don’t try to change tactics as from experience that could come back to bite you.

      50 points isn't that much at the moment, play your normal game until about 3 weeks to go - if you're still adrift it's time for a few maverick captains

        I know it's not a huge gap in theory but he's no mug. Trying to find differentials to gain that sort of gap in just a few weeks is almost impossible. It's almost like it will require a hattrick scorer as captain that he doesn't own.

          it's not almost impossible, pretty sure I did it with Kane once - of course you'll need some 'luck' but it's very much doable

      if youre planning on keeping ALLthe non playing players for your WC and have money tied up in them just play 10 otherwise just replace anyone of them with someone playing GW33 (silly not to)

      i went for fraser over brooks in gw31, but just be prepped that it could easily go either way! fraser link up play with wilson usually v good though, seem to bring out the best in each other points wise

    Hi folks, in nees of some advice please. I'm only a few points off the top of 3 mini leagues, but only have FH and TC chips left. My rivals still have WC. As it stands I have 8 players available for BGW. I'm just really not sure when to play the FH.

    Hey Guys,

    I am on my FH for the next GW, and I was hoping for some help. My biggest dillemma is whether I should include Salah or not. I haven't had him since Christmass, horrible at first, but great for the last GW's. It has helped me get closer to the ones I am chasing. On the other hand it would feel like a comfortable shield to have next GW.

    Team 1:

    Kepa - Guaita
    Chilwell - Kolasinac - Schlupp - (Valéry) - (Simpson(3.8))
    Tielemans - Hazard - Salah - Mané (Redmond)
    Firmino - King - Vardy(c)

    Team 2:
    Kepa - Guaita
    Chilwell - Kolasinac - TAA - (Azpi - Schlupp)
    Hazard - Tielemans - Mané - Mikhtaryan (Siggy)
    Firmino - King - Vardy(c)

    What do you think? Not having Salah saves so much cash I can upgrade even my 4th defender to Azpi :-/. Then again I kind of like a punt on Mikhtaryan, if he would start he could deliver some points, if he does not I just have to hope he does not play 5 mins.

      I wouldn't take a hit for a BGW, and I would just stick to Fabianski. He always gets some saves points.
