Top 10k remain unmoved on popular transfer targets for Gameweek 37

The top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers have been largely unmoved by some of Gameweek 37’s key transfer targets.

Manchester United’s players have been much discussed over the last few days ahead of their final two fixtures with Huddersfield and Cardiff.

Meanwhile, Eden Hazard (£10.9m) has been looked at as a decent captain option when Watford come to Stamford Bridge.

However, neither Chelsea or the Red Devils are particularly well represented in the top 10k, who have seemed keen on minimal changes from their Gameweek 36 exploits.

As you can see from the graphic, none of Manchester United’s players have managed to break into the list of most popular options in the top 10k – which has not changed much from the Gameweek 36 template.

That’s despite Paul Pogba (£8.5m) and Luke Shaw (£5.0m) among the top five most signed assets ahead of Gameweek 37, transferred in by 115,000+ and 100,000+ respectively.

The Frenchman is the most fashionable at the top level, currently sat in 26.6% of top 10k squads, indicating his ability to make a difference for his owners.

Marcus Rashford (£7.3m) is owned by 15.8% of managers in the upper echelon, while left-back Shaw is enjoying 18%.

That suggests that the current top 10,000 managers are more concerned with form rather than fixtures.

The Red Devils have by far the most appealing schedule between now and the end of the season as they face Huddersfield and Cardiff, both of whom are struggling at both ends of the pitch right now.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have won just one of their last five Premier League matches, and their most popular Fantasy assets have performed poorly.

In that run, Pogba has averaged 4.6 points per game, but has blanked four times, while Rashford is without an attacking return since the first match of Double Gameweek 32.

Furthermore, Shaw has averaged 1.6 per Gameweek in the last five, although he was suspended for two of those.

That has understandably ensured they are poorly represented in the top 10k, although if Huddersfield can bring the best out of them they will almost certainly act as powerful differentials.

The same goes for Hazard who is owned by just 15.4% of managers in the top 10k.

The captain armbands that he has been trusted with take his effective ownership to 22.1%, which is still relatively low.

Given that Watford have conceded more big chances than any other side this calendar year, and Hazard has three double-figure hauls in his last four at home, a high score could force plenty of movement in and out of the top 10k.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah‘s (£13.3m) 19-point haul against Huddersfield has reduced his impact as a difference maker at this level.

His ownership in the top 10k has now increased to 39.6% which is finally enough for him to return to the list of the top five most popular midfielders.

The Egyptian is also the third-most captained in the top 10k for Gameweek 37, ahead of a trip to Newcastle, taking his effective ownership to 47.5%.

The most important asset by some stretch is Sergio Aguero (£11.9m) who has been captained by 52.3% of managers inside the top 10k.

That takes his effective ownership at this level to 132.5%, roughly 40% more than the second highest in this department, Raúl Jiménez (£7.0m) on 93.8%.

We have further confirmation that ‘chip season’ is very much a thing of the past as none of the power-plays were used by more than 4% of the top 10k for Gameweek 37.

As you can see, the Triple Captaincy was the most popular with Aguero, Raheem Sterling (£11.6m), Hazard and Salah those considered for it.

It is worth noting that there is still a small group of managers inside the top 10k who are yet to exhaust their chip supply.

91% of them have done so at this stage, but there are still 9% with chips left in their pocket.

Not surprisingly, it’s the Triple Captain which is likely to be the most deployed on the final day of the season as managers hope to benefit from what usually proves to be one full of goals.

Having three Southampton defenders is a bit of a pain. Probably just give their attackers a miss, would seem like a waste of my 2FT to bring in one. Anyway lots of matches to play a bit early to be thinking of moves.

Hazard (TC) Sunday 🙂 nice differential in that top 10k, hopefully it works out, got Kun and Sterling as well so their damage is limited if either do haul. Kun is the only one with the OO over 100%. I just fancied a throw of the dice there. Good week to do it imo.

From memory they pick the games based on which fixtures have something riding on it. If Liverpool win tonight then expect Liverpool/City to be televised, otherwise it will probably have something to do with the top 4. I think they usually have 2 fixtures live on Sky Sports.

Someone somewhere may have the stats but is this on average (say for top 10k) the highest scoring season in a while? Ive been playing the game 9 seasons and whilst having my best season rank wise, I’ve also smashed my best ever score. could hit 2500 points by end of next game week. This isn’t a subtle brag, genuinely interested to know

Really, really dissapointed this morning. Missed the start of the match last night and saw it flash up that Richarlison had scored (my captain this week) and was very happy. Reason I picked him was as the only other ones I fancied were either Jimenez who my ML rival has or Lacazette who isn't certain to start so was too risky to pick. It ends up going down as an own goal s o only an assist and then he goes off injured before 60 mins and gets no bonus and just 4 points doubled up to 8.

So the whole plan was to give myself half a chance chasing down 67 points going into the last week which won't happen now but 3rd place in paid ML who is 91 points behind now has a sniff of catching me with Aguero (c) & Sterling who I don't have.

Do you still think my team has enough to see him off?

    Mine:-
    De Gea
    Doherty VVD Bednarek
    Salah Richarlison(c) Son Mane
    Lacazette Wilson Jimenez

    His:-
    Pickford
    Digne Rice Kolasanic Shaw
    Mane Son Sterling
    Jimenez Aguero(c) Rashford

You think that 2nd place in my ML is that secure and it was worth having a go at trying to catch 1st with a differential captain on a player who was at home to Burnley that he never had?

    Morning dzz, who wins here:

Me: Foster Kola Shaw Sterling Kun
Rival: Gunn Robbo Jota Pogba Firmino

Initiallg looks close but The more I think , I think rival will piss all over me as pool won’t concede and I expect both pool and city to score max 2 goals. So I expect his robbo/Firmino to be on par or ahead of sterling/Kun

Between the remaining games, I think his Pogba and Jota have a massively potential then Shaw and Kola

I needed Fraser to drop in price so I could swap Jota, he was on -103 last night but annoyingly is rising again this morning and won't likely drop now. So I need a backup plan. Am I really going to have to bring in Babel?

True. Though if 7th place is all sorted today I'm not sure what Watford are playing for. Might rest some for the cup final?

    Any changes needed for 38?

    Lloris
    Shaw - Trent - Valery - Laporte
    Salah - Sterling - Pogba - Jota
    Wilson - Aguero -

    Foster - Jimenez - Deulofeu - Doherty

I would go Jim over Jota just because he has a reputation against the big boys if scoring

Maybe something like Jota > Babel. Really depends if you’re chasing or protecting a rank.

    ML leader: Salah + Kun + Mili + Kola + 6
Me: Hazard (C) + Son + Trippier (Valery)

My ML can be decided by Hazard single handedly, too excited.

Chasing 12 point mini league led

Can get Salah in for Sterling for Free

Rival would need to do surgery for Mo..

Worth one last Mo captain shout?

You can make up 12 points over 2 weeks easily enough by just doing what you think us best and getting a little bit if luck.

It depends how many you think the points difference you will gain between the 2 transfers will be.

If you see Salah captain 20 points. Sterling captain 10 points vs Jota 2 points vs Fraser 5 points then you are beat with the Salah pick.

I'm expecting a City win with us to score too - but certainly not a roll over. Rodgers would love to do Pool a favour.

For a while I have felt this is City's toughest game. Even more so than United. That is why I went with Hazard over Kun (even though I tend to play safe with the captain pick).

Bizarre thing - we're both on 0 points this week but your GW rank is 5,5 million and mine is 2.5 million. What's that all about?

PS Good luck with getting to under 1K - it's still possible.

Oh, #2 in my mini-league (who were 77 points behind) played his WC chip and went for 8 different players to the leader.

His first differential, Digne, already earned 9 points advantage from the first match of GW37.

The remaining differentials are including : DDG - Shaw, Laporte - Moura, Jota, Sane, Pogba (c)

And, interestingly, #2 still have BB chip for the last game with Guita, Kelly, Zaha, and DCL on the bench.

It'd be very interesting last two gameweeks.
