FPL Gameweek 38 – an analysis of the key underlying stats

The 2018/19 season comes to a conclusion this Sunday, with all 20 Premier League clubs kicking off simultaneously at 15:00 BST.

Gameweek 38 represents the final chance to claw back a mini-league deficit or improve an overall rank for those Fantasy managers who are struggling.

For the front-runners amongst us, there may be more ‘defensive’ strategies employed as impressive ranks and mini-league leads are consolidated.

Ahead of this weekend’s later-than-usual deadline, we take a look at the data available to subscribers in our Members’ area and present the eye-catching statistics that could influence Fantasy managers’ decisions and transfers whatever the approach.

We’ve run down the stand-out stats in every position, as well as looking at the strengths and weaknesses of various teams to assess which Fantasy Premier League assets could have a profitable Gameweek 38.

Members can read on for our analysis below.

    Defending a 15 point lead.
Should I do a covering transfer here? Thinking maybe Son > Pogba.

    **My squad**

    Foster
    Bednarek - Shaw - TAA
    Sterling - Son - Salah - Eriksen - Hjojberg
    Aguero - Jiminez

    Ryan - Llorente - Duffy - Dunk

    **My rival's differentials**

    Gunn
    Trippier - Laporte
    Pogba - Mane
    Vardy - Zaha

Vardy or Mane probably the ones to worry most about, but I assume you'd need a hit for them? Which isn't worth it

Lost on last page. Appreciate the advice.

Plan is to use FT to do:
    Jota > Babel
    To give me:

    0.6itb
    Lloris
    Robbo*, Laporte, Valery
Salah (C), Sterling, JWP, Babel, Mili
    Aguero, Wilson
    (Foster) (Jimi, Doherty, Yoshida*)

Hopefully we get something definitive on Robbo tomorrow but if he’s out would you just leave it with Doherty coming in or bring in TAA or VVD for -4?

Also would you start Jimi (liv) or Mili (BOU)?

    Cheers!

    Foster -- Patricio

    A: Son >> Redmond/Babel/Ozil/Fraser

With 16 points behind in mini league and with a FH in hand. Who should I punt on to gain those points. I'm going Salah who he doesn't have and trying to look for others. What do you think about Auba?

      10 guaranteed starters are:

      Foster
      Laporte, TAA, Valery
      Sterling, Hazard, Mane, Pogba
      Aguero, Jimenez

11th starter a choice between Bednarek and Llorente.

On bench will be Ryan, Hojberg and Doherty.

      1. pingissimus

BB if you choose a strong 15 and are lucky for all to play. But risk some will miss out on last day.

Extra 4 players versus another layer of your captain points.

I say TC and spent well in starting XI with Southampton cheap defenders on bench.

    0.0 ITB 1FT - The squad:

    Ryan
    TAA / Laporte / Valery
    Mane / Salah / Moura / Redmond / Sterling
    Long / Aguero

    Patricio Jimenez Duffy Dönk

    1) Transfer Patricio to Rico(Ful)?
    2) Or Döffy to Obi-Wan-Bissaka and bench Long?
