Leicester City’s permanent capture of Youri Tielemans (£6.5m) adds to the Foxes’ attractive options in Fantasy Premier League next season.
The Belgian midfielder, signed for a reported £40m from Monaco, impressed in a brief loan spell towards the end of 2018/19 and was a successful differential pick for those FPL bosses who backed him.
The central midfielder scored three goals and registered a further five assists in just 13 starts, averaging 4.8 FPL points per game – more than any of Leicester’s other Fantasy assets apart from Jamie Vardy (£9.0m).
You can read more about Tielemans’ history in our Scout Report.
The Foxes’ opening eight fixtures are a mixed bag, with Brendan Rodgers’ side facing five of last season’s top seven in the first two months of the campaign.
There are also matches against Sheffield United, Bournemouth and Newcastle United in that time, however.
For those wishing to back a Leicester asset from the off, there is a bit of a selection headache.
Ayoze Perez‘s (£6.5m) case for inclusion was heard in a Members’ article last week but in Tielemans and James Maddison (£7.0m) we also have two FPL midfielders who provided us with decent value for money in 2018/19.
In Vardy, we also have a premium forward who scored more goals than any other Premier League player in the final ten Gameweeks of last season.
This latest article will scrutinise the numbers behind Tielemans’ appearances for Leicester so far.
