How Scout Membership can help Fantasy managers in 2019/20

Full-season Fantasy Football Scout subscriptions are still available for £17.50 – that’s the equivalent of less than 39p a week.

Over the years we have added to the benefits that our Members enjoy and we will be re-investing back into the site to enhance it further in 2019/20.

The most recent addition was the new Flat-Track Bully tool, which allows Members to conduct research in greater detail.

Using this new feature (pictured below) you can exclude/include certain teams (i.e. the ‘big six’) when scrolling through the various tabs in our Player Stats section.

This will help you identify players who perhaps perform better against weaker opposition and even those who thrive against the top teams like Raúl Jiménez did in 2018/19.

We also recently put a call out for web developers and we have a number of other site improvements in the pipeline that will hopefully help our subscribers even more.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

In 2018/19 we published more Members’ articles than ever before and there will be at least 150 such pieces in the 2019/20 campaign.

We also introduced Members-only comments and Hot Topics to allow for detailed discussions of content behind the pay-wall.

Our Projections and Rate My Team tools (below) have both been tweaked, with RMT’s Professor – aka Chris Atkinson – elaborating on the changes in a recent Hot Topic.

Reigning Fantasy Premier League champion Adam Levy is a paid-up Member of our site and he discussed what tools of ours he finds most useful in a recent interview.

In previous seasons we’ve helped FPL winners Tom Fenley and Simon March, while in 2015/16 we were thrilled to see Ed Masters – the winner of that year’s Members’ League – finish third in the overall rankings.

In 2017/18, Paul Gee went one better. He won our Members’ League and finished second, losing out to champion Yusuf Sheikh by just eight points.

We are hugely grateful to those who show their support by signing up as a Member each season. This continues to enable us to maintain the site, grow the Fantasy Football Scout team and develop more ideas.

Here are just some of the features you can enjoy as a subscriber:

Head-to-Head Comparisons

Compare both teams and players head to head.

Match Analysis

Analysis of every Premier League match (going back to 2011/12!), together with charts which plot average positions and our collection of heatmaps for touches, shots, chances created among other statistics.

Custom Stats Tables

Members can also create custom tables based on the data and share them with other subscribers (an example from last season is shown above).

Perhaps the most famous of these is Joe’s Goals Imminent table, which looks to predict which underperforming assets will find the net next.

Customisable Season Ticker

Sort by fixture difficulty and find out which teams’ matches rotate well using our customisable Season Ticker.

Be sure to check out all the other benefits of signing up as a member here. A full FAQ on our Members’ Area is also available here.

Ndombele at 6M if anyone looking to fill a spot at that budget is the one.

He was outstanding in the minutes he got vs Juve... assists incoming

Starting to doubt my double up of pool defenders after watching their preseason games in the States, their defense is all over the place, like they've never played together.

Liverpool defend as a team, you can’t take anything from these two performances with a hybrid backline, midfield and Migs in goal.

It's fine to start with. We'll have a better idea of the cheapest starters when the season begins. 1-2 starters on the bench is usually enough.

If you are predicting to get more points from bench players, you should have put them in your starting XI no?

Scout membership can help fantasy managers by getting people who know about and consume football to provide the analysis. Not some scruffy middle aged men who have 'only watched a bit of MOTD' as they took the kids out to Peppa Pig world on the Saturday and had the in laws round on the Sunday.

Keep flip flopping here, mainly on the frontline and 3rd mid. What do you think the best bet is to start with?

    A) Vardy King 7.5max (thinking Fraser)
    B) Wilson Deulofeu 8.5max (not convinced on Everton mids)
    C) King Deulofeu 10.0max (KDB, easy option to get Son when back)
    D) Other

    Pope (4.0)
    TAA VVD Coleman Zinchenko (4.0)
    Salah Sterling ___ Perez
    ___ ___ Greenwood

From a quality pov, Siggy, Wilson & Jota and bump Coleman up to Digne. Sure it's template but it's a nice XI.

Interesting, cheers. Wilson I get and Jota v Deulofeu is a tricky one for me. Not wholly convinced Digne is worth that 0.5 more than Coleman though - may prefer to keep it ITB - and what's your reasoning on Sig? Ik he's popular around here but feels like a bit of a trap, if only cos it's such a template pick.

Yeah, I'm not sure on Siggy. He's the one I always swap out first when I'm trying to find funds for other ideas. If he was 7.5 I wouldn't think twice but 8 mil is a tad much. I guess I keep him because he's the main man on penalties and shares free kicks, and they have nice fixtures at the start. I also think as you say it's fear as so many will have him in the template. Easy to swap out to someone else (Fraser, LEI, Bilva, etc) if he doesn't fire and they do. I can completely understand those who go without him though.

Amazing how templates form. I guess it's the result of Salah + Sterling + double Liv defence, Zinchenko and Bournemouth's fixtures.

Who's on your radar but you can't quite squeeze in?

For me, it's KdB, Lacazette and Kane. Lacazette might be possible.

With my current team (above), the ones I'm reluctantly going w/o atm are Vardy, KDB, Robbo (saving 0.5 with vvd right now). Son and Kane also ones I may look to get in if Spurs start well, and I'm interested to see how BSilva performs in terms of attacking returns. Any consistency there and he's straight in my team

      1. Twisted Saltergater
        • 14 Years
        4 years, 8 months ago

Yep, Moura is in my starting 11 at the moment (easy switch to Fraser, Siggy, BSilva if I bottle it). BSilva has been in and out ... whenever I have him I know Wilson > King gives me 1.5m to do BSilva > KdB, and that makes me feel uncomfortable lol.

I'm not sure about the VVD pick when Robertson/TAA are only 0.5m more. They offer such attacking threat. I know their overall total points are similar but VVD had a bit of a purple patch towards the end of the season with attacking returns.

It sort of develops a life of its own and before you know it it's template because you want certain cover/quality of certain teams and the price points take care of the rest I guess.

Then you look at fixtures and wonder why Sterling in weeks 1 and 2. His fixtures only begin to look tasty from 3/4 on.

Start with Fraser Auba move to Sterling 6.5 in 3. You end up with a captain choice in 2 that all the template junkies miss.

          typically, Mariappa and Femenia.

Another option would be Diop if you can bench him GW1.

I have 2ft planned for gw3 already... Thinking Digne and a 4.5 but I’d have to play the 4.5 each week.

Planning the one probably won’t either then 😆

I have Origi as my first two week punt. Plan on taking him and Auba out for Vardy and Haller or Jiminez gw3.

I an currently considering TAA, VvD, Zinch and Cathcart/Diop rotation. Gw6 is "a bit" tricky (Dendoncker/transfer/wc/3 defs), but first five fixtures are BHA, bha, WHU, new, avl.

Has anyone found better cheap combo to start with?

Not sold on Deulefeo or any 6.5 striker that is not King

    Really tempted by 4-5-1

    Ryan
    Robbo Taa Digne Zinch
    Salah Sterling Siggy Perez Moura
    King

    4.0 Greenwood Kelly Nketiah

Just feels like all players here are grrat value

Moura decent captain choice GW3 as well

    1. IN SANE IN DE BRUYNE

Son is back for GW3, Moura could be benched.
That is a good team on paper but you have two 4.5 strikers on your bench. Probably none of them will be starting players.

Cheers mate. I do have the extra mil. I prefer Wilson to Vardy. Vardy goes in patches, Wilson is pretty reliable v weaker sides and that fixture run is too good. Lei tough games, don't get why everyone jumping on them

I'm not sure I'd captain an Arsenal player home to Burnley, over Salah(c) at Southampton.

Don’t buy perma captain Mo personally. Arsenal were prolific at home and I’d have either Laca or Auba over Mo away.

Nah, you're right but no EL this season should help them.

If I could squeeze Lacazette in, I probably would be tempted to captain. I just can't overlook Salah and Sterling from the off.

Quite an achievement to squeeze those three big hitters in without sabotaging the rest of your team. Ake is not going to get many clean sheets though, as the cherries can't defend at all.

Still think Bilva Fraser far better call.

Bilva has poor fixtures weeks 1 and 2. Fraser is s much much better option than Brooks when Wilson us in the pitch. In week 3 if you want to move off Bournemouth you have an easy move to KdB and 6.5.

          1. Lacabacca
            • 5 Years
            4 years, 8 months ago

Fraser definitely is a better option than Brooks. My concern is Bilva -> Fraser leaves me with no City attacker. But again, Bilva isn't going to make up for the lack of Sterlings and KDBs, so might as well take your route. That extra 0.5 can also get me an Azpilicueta. Hmmnn.. not a bad shout.

          2. Twisted Saltergater
            • 14 Years
            4 years, 8 months ago

He has BSilva and Perez at the moment = 14.5m. I'm not sure how he can go from that to KdB + 6.5m without other serious restructuring? That's an extra 1.5m.
