Leicester differentials could reward investment in 2019/20

Leicester City’s squad could provide Fantasy Premier League managers with some powerful differentials in the early part of 2019/20.

Probably because of uninspiring opening fixtures, none of Brendan Rodgers’ players is owned by more than 13.7% ahead of Gameweek 1.

However, there is enough in the underlying statistics from last year to suggest the Foxes could enjoy Rodgers’ first full season at the helm.

As this article uses data Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who are signed up for the 2019/20 can access it in full.

How about this for a 4-5-1?

    Lloris (Button)
Robbo TAA Digne Zinchenko (4.5 def)
    Salah Sterling Maddison Fraser Barkley
    King (Greenwood, Wickham)

Not really: Dunk and Diop seem to be faves around here.

If Arsenal tighten up, Koscienly and (hopefully Mustafi) go, Holding or Chambers could end up starting for Arsenal...I know they can’t defend, but a starting 4.5 for a top 6 team could be good. Just something to monitor.

Not attracted by WHam or Brighton defence really. An Arsenal defender at 4.5 would be great!

I think that Chambers or Holding would be terrible picks from a dire defence. Can't see the benefit of picking either of them.

Have to assume that Arsenal will get some clean sheets at some point, they’re still going to finish in the top 6 and at 4.5 would offer tremendous value.

    Pope/Heaton
    TAA, Digne, Ake (Diop, Kelly)
    Sterling, Mane, Fraser, Lamela, Dendoncker
    Kane, King (Greenwood)

I got 1.0 in bank... thinking either Lamela to Anderson after GW1
    OR
Do I get Greenwood up to a Jota/Deulofeu by changing Lamela someone cheaper

Saying ‘Fraser over-performed’ as a fact like that is ridiculous . Look at Frasers points per min for
The two previous seasons he is decent many started the season with him last year based on the stats at the time. Back that statement up with some facts

You should look at the expected goals & assists data on him from last season.
            He over performed.

To a point but it’s important that a players finishing ability isn’t considered by XG it will judge Benteke in the same way it will judge Messi if you think they will have the same outcome it’s crazy! so to say Ryan Fraser is over performing because his XG says so and nothing else isn’t right in my opinion. I’m
Glad I didn’t look at his XG this time last year he was a huge

Why does logic dictate 2 x Everton ? It doesn't. The main CDM has departed resulting in a change in balance of the whole side.

3 x City maybe but Zinchenko is a very dodgey pick .

People want to convince themselves of the Everton players due to their favourable opening fixtures. Historically only two players in FPL were 'fixture-proof':

          Michu and Fellaini

    TAA / VVD / Zinchenko / Coleman (4.0)
    Salah / Sterling / Maddison / Jorginho (4.5)

    Hendo
    Robo TAA Cathcart
    Bilva KDB Salah Perez Robinson
    Jota Lacazette
    (4.0, Wesley, JOC, Diop)

3 4.5m defenders rotate nicely... Wesley can rotate with Robinson or Perez. KDB can easy become Son... Laca easy become a 6.5 and then Bilva to Sterling etc. 🙂 thoughts?

Evening all! Back on 3-5-2 and quite liking this lot despite the weak bench:

    Pope
    TAA | Robbo | Coleman
    Salah | Sterling | Perez | Barkley | Norwood
    Kane | King

    Button | Lundstram | Kelly | Greenwood

    - Could drop one of TAA/Robbo to VVD to enable Digne over Coleman.

    - Norwood could be another 5.0 mid like Jorginho/Noble, although Norwood looks like he could be on all set pieces.

    - Still debating Perez or Tielemans also.

    Thoughts?

I'd rather Wilson or Fraser if I was going Bourne. But think people are overlooking them fixtures too much, won't be as many goals as you think imo. Villas fixtures just as good after gw1 and Wesley looks prepped. From the 5.5m mids I'd say Robinson, Mcginn, ceballos, possibly even Hughes are good shouts

If not it's double Chelsea mid with Jorginho, or Noble or even Dendoncker and play 4-4-2 with a 4.5 def

Cheers, the issue I'm having is where to spend a potential extra 0.5 by getting VVD!

But, I can foresee myself being lured into 'wasting' sideways transfers swapping TAA/Robbo around when one is inevitably on more form or more nailed than the other.
So if I have both, I can 1) Easily downgrade to VVD and 2) be content I have both anyway in case of the form switching.

*Cue VVD to score a shed load from corners!

Cheers, I think Barkley is worth the risk at 6.0 given form etc.

The most viable alternative I can see is Norwood to Dendoncker at get a 4.5 def.

I'd be really tempted to go Zin to VVD and Coleman to a 4.5.

But only because of how popular (& annoying!) double pool defense is, to the point where you almost feel forced to have 2.

I don't understand the logic here. Why would the 4.0 player not make it to GW 3? The only one I can see that being an issue for is Kelly, who might lose his spot to players coming back from injury. Is that what you mean?

        1. Athletic Nasherbo
          • 7 Years
          4 years, 8 months ago

The ‘logic’ is that they’re 4.0m for a reason. Lundstram, Hanley, Kelly, Rico are all prospects because of injuries. As soon as the injuries are sorted the 4.0m option is back to the bench in real terms. Only one who potentially can be nailed is Lundstram.

Wenger just stopped thinking about balance from 2009 onwards. No centre mid that was primarily a destroyer has been bought since then. Just forgot that he needed a Vieira/Gilberto Silva type player to win with all out attack strategies...

I’m happy Arsenal have bought Pepe, but would have preferred a peak career defender from a mid table Italian team or something.

I’ve seen better. The main reason I say this is because you’re very restricted- the Liverpool defenders are set and forget so you can’t really jump on a good defence with 2(4.0) and a 4.5. Don’t like Tielemans and Barkley- look for one of them.
