How Liverpool’s key FPL assets compare ahead of 2019/20

With a week to go before Gameweek 1, five of the eight most-owned Fantasy Premier League assets are on Liverpool’s books.

The Reds’ players were a rich source of FPL points last season and there is optimism that they can replicate that in 2019/20, although we have had to swallow price rises with a number of their key Fantasy assets.

FPL managers will be especially keen on Liverpool in the first two months of the upcoming season, with the Reds sitting second on our Season Ticker in Gameweeks 1 to 8.

Can the Reds match their performance levels of 2018/19, though?

In our latest Numbers Game series, we assess Liverpool’s key underlying statistics from last season and highlight the numbers that matter to Fantasy bosses.

    What would you change here?

    Lloris
    TAA Robertson Digne Zinchenko
    Salah (C) KDB Perez Barkley
    Kane King

    4.0 Greenwood Kelly Dendoncker

Would love to have Sterling in the team. But I figured I can go without him for the first couple of weeks.

King hasn't played any pre-season has he, and Solanke has looked good. I'd be slightly concerned about King. Rest of the team looks very nice, you're confident pool and do the defensive job again this season? And you think Barkely is first choice in the no.10 role?

Yeah worried about King too. Might go for Jota/Deulofeu. Who do you reckon is the better forward to go for in the 6 5 bracket?

And yes im fairly confident in Barkley playing the no. 10 role. Must Chelsea fans seem to think he is the prefered option and Lampard seems to love him. Might get benched at some point for Mount. But I believe he will flourish under Lampard. For 6.0 he is definetely worth the risk

Nice Kane and Salah team. I'd be tempted to drop KDB to take advantage of the 7.5 to 8m bracket and upgrade your first sub, which may work out better for your team

I think the subs will do just fine. I just need them be a 2 point cover. Having KDB is good for team structure. I can get Son/Pepe in easily

Cheers matey, yeah i agree, feels strange changing it and losing Sterling as a result, but guessing it is a sensible compromise, plus it would be much harder to jump on a premium if they did well from two 6.5's. Would be moderately easier to jump on Sterling if he lights it up from KDB i guess.

You can always do Salah -> Sterling in gw3 if you regret. I think not having both Salah + Sterling is healthy for the team. Going with Kane is one million cheaper and its easier to get in the likes of Auba, Laca, Aguero etc if they start firing. Balance is a good thing

Thanks mate, yeah neither am i, just from what i've seen of him he looks extremely eager and willing to give it his all.
Ings i like, but would always be worried about how long he'll last with injuries and stuff, Adams a good shout cheers for that 🙂

Downgrading Fraser to Barkley (if you dare) would free up 1.5. Would then go for A and upgrade VVD + Coleman + Wesley to Robertson + Digne + 6.5

I think that would be a good move. And BAM. We got the same team except you went for Laporte + Heaton whereas I got Lloris + Zinchenko

Your very welcome! I'm taking a risk wirh Zinchenko. I admit that. But another good 5.5 will emerge. There are plenty potentially good 5.5's: Stones, Alder/Vert, AWB. Not the worst bracket to take a risk on

    How do I find 0.5?

    Ederson
    TAA | VVD | Coleman | Rico
    Salah | Sterling | Perez | Barkley
    Kane | King

    Button | Gibson | Dendoncker | Greenwood

    a) King to Adams
    b) Ederson to Pope and Rico to Gibson to 5.0 if so who?
    c) Perez to Adams (is no Greenwood and 3 up top an issue)
    d) something else?

Double BHA? Hopefully Dunk moves to Leicester in the wake of Maguire’s departure. Not keen on spending 15.5 on two Bournemouth attackers either. Just a bit punty with Barkley thrown in as well. It’s not bad but I think you can tweak it a bit

What do you guys think about set & forget GK?

In 4.5 price bucket, Ryan isn't convinced me since Brighton will likely to go more offensive this year, while Burnley GK situation is quite unsettled.

In my opinion, the 5.0 GK bucket are overpriced compared to the 4.5. Meanwhile, i think the 5.5 bucket are not that good, and I'd rather adding 0.5 to get the more guaranteed CS 6.0 GK.

So it's kinda 4.5 or 6.0 choice for me atm. However, i'm starting to consider De Gea due to the signing of Maguire.

I think De Gea is gonna be a good option for:
    1. CS potential. Really hope United can really boost their defensive area with Maguire on board
    2. Save points potential. I suppose De Gea will still get a lot of save action for additional points this season, unlike Ederson
    3. Less likely to get -2 points from conceding 4 goals. unlike the other lower priced GK, I don't think United will concede that much in a single GW
    4. Saving 0.5 ITB compared to Ederson or Alisson

Hope to hear your opinion about this. Thanks guys!

I've played this game nearly 10 years now. I've done 5.5 goalkeepers, 5.0 goalkeepers, 4.5 goalkeepers, rotating keepers, even had a 4.0/4.0 rotation going once if anyone remembers sorensen

Last year went Ederson set and forget, best decision i've made on FPL. Guaranteed 6 points or more on at least 20 weeks and saves a headache.

Lots of good GKs in the 5.5 range. De Gea, Lloris and Pickford (with Everton's early run of fixtures) could all do really well - not convinced by Kepa as I think Chelsea could be a bit loose at the back.

4.5 options are starting to open up now. Heaton at Villa, Pope/Hart at Burnley and Hendo at Sheffield could all rack up save points.

Its more expensive to go 6.0 + 4.0 compared with 2 x 4.5's. However that 1m will buy you security knowing you will never need to spend a FT on a GKer. Personally I see the 2 x 4.5's to be the more 'attacking' play.

this one's unique i'll give you that. If gigi can rediscover his form this year you're on to a winner. Not the most conventional attack either but easily adjusted to the likes of wilson, jota and jiminez if they perform instead. Overall i like it.

Not a fan of the goalkeepers though, if sheffield end up having a rough time you're gonna be in for a rough one too

I like it (even though I think Pulisic is a bit of a punt at this point), but I'd personally have another 4.5 GK to rotate with Hendo (although you could always just use a free transfer).

    Fab ( Button )
Alonso, AWB, Digne, Robbo ( Guilbert )
    Salah, Eriksen, KDB, Tielemans, Barkley
    Wilson ( Greenwood, Nkitieh )

Why Tielemans over Perez? And Alonso is not too likely to start (Emerson seems to be favoured) - VVD/Laporte are more sensible picks. Otherwise, looks good - Fab is fine!

        Changed to
        DDG , Button
        Alonso, Robbo, Digne, AWB, (Guilbert)
Kdb, Eriksen, Salah, Tielemans, (Douglas Luiz)
        Wilson, Wood, (Nketieh)
        442
Tielemans I prefer. Don't think city will keep clean sheets to begin, that's why no Laporte. Vvd, I've never picked him, not rushing to now. .
Utd Defence should be more solid now. Awb bps magnet,
Alonso my only real punt. Could be Gold.

Love the Eriksen pick. If he stays and gets head right, with Tripps gone and addition of Ndombele, no reason he should not return to prev status as 200 pt’er.

Yeah, pretty template and kinda boring. Unsure about Jota considering the EL qualification matches and Wolves' dodgy program the first couple of matches. Any better for 6/6.5? Deeney? Wesley?

It's a good team bro, very good in fact. Your defence is great, your midfield is great. If you want an alternative to jota i'd try looking deulofeu? he strikes me as a better option than deeney and wesley at least

            • 4 Years

Thanks pal! Think I prefer Deeney over Deulofeu, mostly because of penalty duties. Jota is the best forward in that price bracket in my opinion though, but thos EL qualification matches kinda scares me...

Fraser v streaky. Could crush it or do sweet FA. I think Perez can be great value this season; come close to/exceed Fraser points. Lloris should outscore Pope in early fixtures. Intrigued by Wesley, but need to see him perform before bringing in for Jota. Although, having typed this, it’s also yet to be seen whether Barkley can show worth this season, so maybe you option 2 is more neutral than first met my eye.

    Ederson
TAA | VVD | KWP (Spurs 5.0 RB)
    Salah | Sterling | KDB | Perez | Barkley
    King | Adams

    Button | Rico | Gibson | Greenwood

With that as your bench, you will likely have to WC early (unless Gibson plays/switches teams); otherwise, your team could get hammered when Guardiola rotates Sterling/de Bruyne.
