How Man City assets changed towards the end of 2018/19

Manchester City options are likely to form the bedrock of Fantasy Premier League teams again this season.

However, selecting the right ones might prove challenging in the early part of the season.

In this latest article, we take a look at how they performed last season and what trends were set at different stages of the campaign.

As this uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout members area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

    Trying a team without Salah

    Ederson
    Robertson, TAA, Digne
    Fraser, Perez, Sigi, Sterling
    Jota, Vardy, Wilson

No playing subs - only Dendoncker of note but is it good enough without Salah please?

I don’t think this is strong enough without Salah. Currently only one reliable captaincy option.

I’d swap Vardy to a premium forward by downgrading wilson or Fraser (or maybe sigi given their preseason). I’m not keen on double ups though so up to you!

This is back up option with Mo

        Heaton
        Robertson, TAA, Digne
        McGinn, Perez, Sigi, Salah, Sterling
        Wilson, King

        Better?

Depends what you mean by surprise. Us staying up seems like it'll surprise most people. In terms of maybe 'over achieving' I'd go us and Villa

Bilva could be my Captain. Have Salah and Kane as premium captain choice.

Is a Sharp - Wesley frontline too weak?

Considering Haller, Deulofeu, Dendocker > Sharp, Wesley, Lanzini

They all have to start week in week out.

I have no 3rd striker. I don't see value in 3 strikers this season. A 6.5m mid is far superior to a similarly priced forward.

The only problem with cheap frontline is that you need 2 transfers to buy someone more expensive.

But not sure if Sharp's the best choice given Oli and McG are there.

There has been lots of chat about how Gueye in the double pivot made Everton defence tick. Zouma looking unexceptional at Chelsea seems to verify this.

Are there any parallel theories about United? Are defensive issues as much about the midfield pivot as much as personnel at the back. Is Pogba plus one a minus for defence perhaps?

Pure speculation and very open question.

I am just down to two options:

    1) Origi and Dendoncker or
    2) Greenwood and Mcginn.

I have gone for 1) because of Liverpool’s fixtures but we all know Origi will become a bench fodder.

Is Ozil a viable prospect? Decent price, great forward line to assist. Main issue is game time, but surely he will play. Wanting to swap to him from Zaha with his uncertainty of club.

Why would you make such a commitment that could be a huge detriment to your season?

Yes.. but you had a 3 million price difference on Mane to rely on. New season, new prices.. new mentality required

      Like this a lot!

      I’m also going without Salah...

      Ederson
      Robertson, TAA, Digne
      Fraser, Perez, Sigi, Sterling
      Jota, Vardy, Wilson

Nice! Many on here will say that you need a second captaincy option but I don't buy into that at all, a captaincy punt on occasion can do wonders for your rank and makes the game fun, GL!

Sterling can be captain every week basically so agree!

Cant see why everyone is going with 4.5 defenders and cheap mids when you can solid proven players in every position instead!

I have a draft without Auba where Sterling would be my only big hitter! Would be very happy to permacap a possibly differential Sterling (at times) and have a nice VC punt lined up in case he gets a rest, makes the game exciting, GL 🙂

There's no value in mids at 6.0 - 5.0 so might as well get Dendoncker and 6.5m

No playing subs disaster. Bournemouth frontline fixtures aren't that great. "Newly promoted teams" hype. Leicester got beaten opening day by Hull season after they won from memory

Since my last team go slated for a weak defense, I changed it around a bit. No Salah but can't have everyone you want.

    Team lineup:

    Heaton (Ryan)
    Van Dijk- Walker-Peters - Keane - (Kelly - Lundstram)
    Fraser - Sterling - Perez - Pulisic - (Traore)
    Aubameyang - Firmino - Abraham

This is a more balanced team than my last. Thanks for any input

      Is this a joke?

On a serious note.. Lundstram to Rico as he was awful yday and can't see him playing much. Pulisic I love. Abraham and Firminho are interesting punts, could work but better options for their combined price e.g. Wesley and Vardy imo

haha thanks 🙂 has Rico nailed his spot in the team?

Firmino will be a started (Isn't he?) and has easier games than Vardy in the beginning, Abraham is a punt but everyone else in that price point don't have a good run of games (at least for what I've found).

Rico more nailed than Lundstram I think. I do like Firminho but most would say he's a waste of a pool spot and not good for fpl. I kind of disagree and Abraham not yet nailed with Batman in the ranks but who knkws
