The impact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had on United’s Fantasy assets

The jury is still out on Manchester United’s Fantasy assets going into the new campaign.

The new manager bounce that the club experienced after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment in December gave way to some middling form in the final nine Gameweeks of the season.

Their pre-season results (five wins from six) have been quietly encouraging, at least, with Inter Milan and Spurs among the teams already beaten in July.

This latest Numbers Game piece differs from the usual format as we focus on the impact Solskjaer had on United’s assets in the second half of last season.

The Norwegian first took charge of the Red Devils in Gameweek 18, so we will examine United’s stats before and after the departure of Jose Mourinho.

I'm pretty certain I'll be going with Murray in my gw1 team (if Brighton don't sign a new striker)

    What's not to like?
    - Brighton play arguably the worst 3 defenses in their opening 3 games.
    - 2 out of these are home games.
    - Brighton lie 2nd in the fixture ticker in terms of attack.
    - Murray has played most of the preseason minutes and is nailed at least for the start of the season.
    - Murray is on penalties.
    - Brighton have scored a good amount of goals in preseason.
    - Murray is 6m.
    - Even if it doesn't work out, there are other good options in the same price range, thus not the end of the world.
    - Again, he's not a selection for the entire season but just the first few gw's and he can easily prove to be a differential as I've not seen many around going with Murray.

Talk me out of it 😉
    Cheers all 🙂

Its the Leicester double up that's SLIGHTLY bothering me. Should it? Who are the alternatives for either Vardy or Perez?

Would've gotten Laca for Vardy and Gunn->4.0, but Laca yellow-flagged and all that has forced my hand.

Honestly 6.0 for an Everton defender is a dodgy price imo.

This often seems to be the case. It's a bit like tossing a coin and either it confirms what you wanted to do or you ignore its decision cause you're not happy with it. Either way it has served its purpose in confirming what you really wanted to do.

    Ryan
    Robertson Luiz Coleman Zinc
    Salah Sterling Moura Perez
    Wilson Murray

Subs: Pope (For GW5 run), Lund, Dend, Greenwood

£1.5m ITB for Moura > Son on his return.
Murray because Andone clearly isnt the striker in favour many thought he was. Brighton have a clear run and Murray still on pens.

Can't decide between Wilson and Vardy, I already have both Perez and Fraser so would be doubling up on one team depending on who I pick

Wilson's fixtures look too good to ignore, but Vardy turns up against the big teams so see him as more fixture proof

The other option would be to get KDB in instead

Gut says Vardy so may have to follow that

Why's everyone going for Perez over Teilemans?

Plays up front OOP. Tielemens has usually played quite deep in the past (aside from his loan spell at Leicester)

Perez OOP striker. Tielemans plays deep.

I thinks it comes down the long-discussed battle of "explosive player" to "slowly ticking on" player. Perez looks nailed, and free-scoring enough in preseason. Tielemans is a good option too, but I'mma take the explosive option this time around.

    A)
    Pope, Button
    TAA, VVD, Zinchenko, Zouma, Lundstram

    Kane, King, Greenwood

    or

    B)
    Ederson, Button
    TAA, Zouma, Taylor, Dunk, Lundstram
    Salah, Sterling, Perez, Barkley, Trossard
    Kane, King, Greenwood

Robbo for me. TAA has been poor pre season and Robbo has no competition .

TAA has corner kicks and some free kicks so I'm going with him

It's hard to get both + Digne

Robbo for me. Literally no threat for rotation and is much better in open play. Also more likely to get more bonus points when neither has attacking returns but do have CS as Robbo is incredible defensively as well.

Robertson purely because he's nailed and I don't want the headache of wondering whether Gomez will start ahead of him. TAA will likely get more assists though

This. I’ve been on TAA all the way but likely to bottle it at the last minute and save myself the nervous team announcements.

Liverpool's first 5 are very enticing attacking wise so TAA could easily hit big. Longer term robbo possibly wiser...

Been on both since launch but now I'm starting to think I'm better off with Robbo and VvD due to security of starts. Don't want to spend transfers on my defense.

TAA on set pieces, underlying stats from last season are much better too. Had one more assist and played way less minutes. I think Robbo owners are trying to convince themselves TAA isn't nailed...
