Which Spurs players are worth owning in FPL this season?

Tottenham Hotspur players are causing some Fantasy Premier League managers dilemmas at the start of the season.

They have a favourable opening fixture at home to Aston Villa but with a trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 2 and relatively expensive price points, their assets could be the ones to miss out on those initial teams.

However, there are some encouraging reasons to own some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players at the start of the new campaign.

In this article we assess Spurs’ defensive and attacking potential based on last season’s underlying statistics.

As this analysis uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

      Get Ryan / button combo instead of Heaton. Like the rest to be fair as apart from Perez Mcginn and wilson I have King lucas Moura and Lamela.

      I would do Zinc to KWP but keep.5 in bank - Heaton fine as permanent goalie. Same as my team then except I have Aubameyang and King over Vardy Wilson. Not sure I would double up Leicester attack from start

        I just tried the same team, but swapped out McGinn for KWP, 5-3-2. Looks good if you don't mind rolling with both him and Zinc, could both be GW3/4 transfers.

        I don't think it's worth it. You're basically banking on Kane outscoring Vardy-Wilson-Digne. I don't have a lot of faith in King or Coleman.

      Barkely, I think KDB not only will score like he did 2-3 seasons back but also from a team structure POV, you need a 9.5 mid. Easier to swap for Pepe / Son when they go ballistic.

        As a Spurs fan, I would definitely go as far as saying KWP is almost guaranteed the first 4-5 games (Foyth injured for at least a month and Aurier currently returning from injury with no preseason mins at all). This is all on the assumption Spurs don’t sign a new RB

    A couple of points regarding this article...

    'Kane's points per match was second amongst forwards"
    Yes it was, but Auba was O.O2 behind and had better points per 90 minutes played. Also Wilson was 0.1 points per game behind Kane and look at the price difference.

    "Lloris recorded his highest ever points tally"
    Yes he did and what a dramatic change compared to prior seasons - 145 vs 144 the season before and 143 the season before that.

    Why are these statements made like they are showing a big edge with these players when there is really nothing in it at all?

      The fact is that Auba was being fed by Iwobi and Mkhitaryan for a lot of last season and still managed to somehow win the golden boot. Put PPM to the side, we've now signed Pepe and might get Coutinho as well, I think he could hit 30 goals if he goes without injury and much rotation.

      ElMo won’t start- Guilbert place to lose. Kelly won’t start with Cahill signing. Kean will come off bench I think week 1 and Origi 1 game at most. Too much spent on goalies. Really sorry but think you need to rethink this team

    Feels too early for Fornals but not sure what else I can do.

      Looks pretty good. Agree on Fornals and lots of options at that price point. Worry keeping an eye on though
