Which Spurs players are worth owning in FPL this season?

Tottenham Hotspur players are causing some Fantasy Premier League managers dilemmas at the start of the season.

They have a favourable opening fixture at home to Aston Villa but with a trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 2 and relatively expensive price points, their assets could be the ones to miss out on those initial teams.

However, there are some encouraging reasons to own some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players at the start of the new campaign.

In this article we assess Spurs’ defensive and attacking potential based on last season’s underlying statistics.

As this analysis uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

      Really concerned about this eriksen thing. If they get Coutinho it might work, but otherwise will not be good for Kane.
      Eriksen sets the tempo, changes side, hold it near the box, comes to collect at CB to start moving. He's a true 8 & 10 modern days

      My two cents on walker. I think he's the worst option for att returns, and normally as the fastest in recovery he might end up with a few YCs for "smart fouls"

        Toby or Vert are safe options tho, they actually are even compared to wan and espcially zinchenko whos minutes arent guarenteed. That leaves coleman who is a good option but maybe u got digne or coleman already. For 5.5 they are up there

        Preseason was weak for Everton attack. But with Kean and potentially Zaha the frontline could look very different come GW 3 once they are integrated into the squad. Richarlison also missed most of preseason at the Copa. So I think Everton will be a different side on the attack compared to preseason

    Bit of a full send with Salah TC, but Liverpool at home to Norwich is probably their strongest fixture of the whole season.

      Very similar to my team below. The reason I compromised a little more on defence was to allow that Fraser /Martial spot become a Son/ Pepe/KDB if required.
      Well I have the cash and moves planned for Son in GW3 after slightly downgrading the defence.

        Yeah I am leaving myself in a slightly tricky spot possibly; I just really want to cover that City defence. Thinking about it though, with Cancelo coming in, Walker is by no means nailed, so I may just leave that minefield.

      They've got far more chance of winning the CL than the PL (as last season showed). The CL format means that in the latter stages, pretty much anyone can beat anyone. There's no way they'll come close to winning the PL. That's not a slight on them, it's just that they won't keep pace with Liverpool and, in particular, City over 38 games.

      To be honest, I can't see anyone else winning the league while Guardiola is in it. It requires someone to get 100+ points.

      I'm too set in my ways to consider a 4-5-1 (4-4-2 is taking some getting used to for me), but the team looks very solid. I'd be slightly hesitant with Zinchenko & KWP - they feel like 2 transfers just waiting to happen.

        But yes for 2 transfers I can have pretty much any forward.
        But I won't do that. There's a reason we picked 451 can't knee jerk away when a forward hauls 🙂

      I have to say I think its too much money invested on defenders... if they are not as solid as last season a lot of teams are in trouble...
