Robbo & VVD over Trent for me, at least for the start of the season anyways. Think Trent could be reduced to 60/70 minute games instead of the whole 90 now Gomez is back

Potentially. But what’s to say he isn’t prone to a half time sub or even just before that 60 minute mark

Hi didn't look sharp in his last match and his set pieces were off, but he will still take them, improve with the time. He needs minutes- MAtip, Lovren, Gomez will fight for the spot- predominantly

    Fellas, need help:

    A- Barkley, TAA, 4,0

    B- Siggy, Giulbert, Montoya

Depends on the rest of your team.

If you already have a lot of punts/players that may be rotated, go with B.

If you want TAA's possible double digit hauls, A.

How am I sitting on the below please chaps? What needs to change?

    Heaton
    Robertson - Zinchenko - Coleman - AWB
    Sterling - Barkley - Perez - Salah
    King - Kane

    (Pope) - Greenwood - Dendonker - Kelly

It's quite solid actually. I'd be tempted to use 0.5 from a gk to bolster Kelly to a definite starter though against risks (Barks) just in case.

    Barkley question...

Am I right in thinking that we all think he’s a good option besides comfort on playing time?
To me even if he starts 50% of games, he’s coming off the bench the other 50. We saw last year with Willian/Pedro data that coming off the bench was no bad thing and also rotation was worth it for explosive players from other teams, especially given high chance of penalties.
For 6mill I don’t see the downside? Even if he gets 25 mins every other game off bench?
    Thoughts?

his scoring will be inconsistent and it will frustrate you but other the long run it might not be that terrible
rotation is better when they get 0 or 90 mins

    What are your thoughts ?

    Pope / McGovern
    TAA - VVD - Digne - Montoya / Gilbert
    Sterling - Salah - Perez - McGinn / Dendoncker
    Auba - King / Greenwood

    GW3 : I will probably do Auba => Kane
    My worries :
    * Not having Fraser and/or Fraser but only King,.. he is on pens so... may cover
** Not having a city defender
    *** Will Pope start GW1 ?

    What are your thoughts ?

Relying on too many cheap ones?

    Ryan/Button
    VVD/4.5/4.5/4.0/4.0
    Salah/Sterling/Robinson/Neves/4.5
    Auba/Kane/Ings

Could take out Aub for Vardy and upgrade Neves to Martial?

    What do you think?

    1. BattleOfDeBruyne
      • 4 Years
      4 years, 7 months ago

That's really good actually, I like when people have a lot of cheap players who start and perform well.

The Ryan/Button combination is good, I'm going with the same. I usually dislike having 2 GKs from the same club as it's a disaster with blanks, bad fixtures, etc and it's always great to be able to pick between 2 decent 4.5's, but the past few seasons have proved that this can be a great tactic when used correctly.

I do think you are going a little overboard with having basically the 4 most expensive players: Salah, Sterling, Auba and Kane. I think that might very well be costly. VVD is a good budget choice (as far as expensive defenders go), and the rest of your defense seems alright, although I would maybe be looking for some Everton converage (lot of clean sheets/reasonably priced defense). Your biggest issue is the midfield, Salah/Sterling is nice but you are probably going to have to start Ings along with Robinson/Neves a lot. I really don't like playing 4 defenders, especially when you have only 1 good defender (VVD). I think it'd be worth playing a 343/352 when you have cheap defenders like this. It's why I have a similar defense but haven't paid for Sterling or Auba. I think Salah > Sterling and Kane > Auba, so I've chosen them 2, and then got some decent 8m strikers/midfielders, saved up a bit to be able to have 4 powerful midfielders, 2 good STs, 2 good defenders. That way I have to pick 1 defender out of a (4.5/4.5/4.0) and either 1 midfielder/striker out of 2 decent midfielders and a decent striker. It allows me to have good coverage each gameweek.
