Which Watford players should FPL managers consider in 2019/20?

It’s as you were for Watford going into the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

At the time of writing and with just 24 hours before the transfer window closes, the Hornets had made only two first-team signings this summer – one of them Danny Welbeck.

Centre-half Craig Dawson (£5.0m) has arrived from West Bromwich Albion and he was the only player not on the books in 2018/19 who was involved in Watford’s final pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad last weekend.

Javi Gracia’s side are also set to be lining up in their familiar 4-2-2-2/4-4-2 shape, with the Watford boss having briefly experimented with a three-man backline in their penultimate friendly against QPR.

We can be fairly confident about the system and personnel going into Gameweek 1 and beyond, then, but what can Fantasy managers expect from Watford’s players this season and are they worthy of consideration?

Our latest Big Numbers piece delves into the underlying data from 2018/19 to see which players could prosper in FPL this season.

Wilson (in 4-3-3) or Fraser (in 4-4-2) ?

Bench not an issue. Heard Fraser better against Lower oppositions.

I think Bournemouth attack is being overrated. King at 6.5m is plenty

I disagree ... Wilson is a great finisher in a team that primarily just attack because they cant defend

King is a poor mans wilson

Because Mendy is apparently not fit to start GW1, which means Zinchenko plays. £5.5m for a starting Man City defender = value. Early wildcard means getting a bit out of Zinchenko early makes him a good play.

Is nobody worried about Trent and Robertson's returns being affected by Keita and Ox being back. In the community shield we dominated the second half when Gomez filled in at right back and they came on in midfield. Especially Trent with rotation risk

Trent will start against the weak teams, which are the teams defenders are more likely to get a clean sheet and/o.r assist in.

I don't buy that logic at all TAA got more points last year than VVD.
Higher points per game - therefore he is more likely to score more points when he starts than VVD.
Also if you have a half decent first sub this negates any loss even further.
