Fraser and Kean benched as budget FPL defender Rico starts

Bournemouth face Everton in the first of two Premier League matches to take place this Sunday.

Kick-off at the Vitality Stadium is at 14:00 BST.

There were a couple of surprises when the teamsheets were released, although we have come to expect the unexpected with Eddie Howe.

Lewis Cook (£5.0m) makes his first Premier League start of 2019 after recovering from a long-term knee injury, while Ryan Fraser (£7.3m) drops to the substitutes’ bench for the first time this season.

Adam Smith (£4.4m) has failed to recover from a hamstring problem so is replaced by debutant Jack Stacey (£4.4m) at right-back, while Chris Mepham (£4.9m) is only fit enough for a place on the bench after picking up an injury while on duty with Wales.

Nathan Ake (£4.9m) moves back across to centre-half, paving the way for a return at left-back for budget FPL defender Diego Rico (£4.0m).

Dominic Solanke (£5.4m) also starts for the Cherries, alongside Joshua King (£6.3m) and Callum Wilson (£7.8m).

Marco Silva has himself named two changes from the team that defeated Wolves a fortnight ago, one of which sees Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.8m) return up front at the expense of Moise Kean (£6.8m).

Morgan Schneiderlin (£4.5m) replaces the missing Andre Gomes (£5.4m) in Silva’s only other alteration.

The Everton boss has since confirmed that Gomes has picked up a rib injury.

Alex Iwobi (£5.9m) and ‘out of position’ FPL defender Fabian Delph (£5.4m) make their second successive league starts for the Toffees.

This fixture generally generates goals: 31 of them have been scored in eight meetings between the two sides since Bournemouth were promoted.

Bournemouth XI: Ramsdale, Stacey, S. Cook, Ake, Rico, Billing, L. Cook, H. Wilson, Solanke, C. Wilson, King.

Everton XI: Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne, Delph, Schneiderlin, Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Calvert-Lewin.

    Trossard >

    A. Cantwell (gives funds to update Montoya > TAA later)
    B. Mount
    C. Ceballos (if he plays advanced today)

A for me too though I like B as well. TAA is just great value, he's just so attacking. Unlucky not to get returns yesterday.

Best City defensive option? On WC right now. Can't afford Walker, but who's the best of the rest?

Personally I wouldn’t touch them right now. They look suspect.

Looking on the bright side here - holding Martial was no worse than playing Digne 🙂

AWB and Rico were obvious picks in retrospect

Can someone please explain to me how EO works? Guess it goes down if players are benched in FPL teams but what makes it go up, captaining/TC?

      Would you WC from:

      Pope
      TAA / Digne / VDD* / KWP*
      Salah* / Sterling / KDB / Mount
      Haller / Pukki

      Button / Lund / Dendo* / Wickham*

      To:

      Pope
      TAA / Digne / Soyoncu*
      Mane* / Sterling / KDB / Mount
      Haller / Pukki / *Abraham

      Button / Cantwell* / Mings* / Lund

Would rather have Salah than Mane but I think the compromise is worth it for the benefits. 3-4-3 is looking like the best formation this season as mid range strikers are offering more value than premium defence at the moment, I would rotate the 3rd defender depending on fixture that week plus it give me a much stronger bench. Not sure how to get Tammy in without WC. Also I have two FT currently and 0 ITB.

For 5 changes? Nah. I'm thinking of a WC... Would be looking to make 10 changes

-12 is too big a hit though. Might try and work out doing it in stages but not sure I can without being priced out.

All to get in Abraham? Not worth it. If you want Abraham make 2 transfers after next GW. TAA for Kelly (or higher priced defender), Wickham for Abraham

That’s the biggest reason but also to get Cantwell in and give myself a full playing bench rather than deadwood like Wick. I wouldn’t get rid of TAA, he’s an attacking beast and a season keeper, plus Kelly is probably dead wood too now so defeats the purpose.

Too late anyway now, I’ve done it ha. I can see the point that it’s a bit wasteful for 5 changes but I’ve had a solid start and have been trying to try Tammy in the last 3 weeks without affecting team balance so thought it could pay off, We’ll see!

I'm thinking of transferring out my goalkeeper Heaton. If he doesn't get a clean sheet soon the heat is on. Pickford might be a good pick. Gunn is a good shot stopper. That save by Krul was pretty cruel for city. It's funny, Hart used to be number one but now he's lost all heart. What do you guys think?
