The FPL line-up lessons we learned from Gameweek 5

We take our regular look back at the Premier League line-ups from the weekend just gone, analysing the systems and personnel used by the 20 top-flight clubs and seeing what lessons could be learned ahead of Gameweek 6.

The article has taken a slightly different format this week as we harness the use of the average position maps in our Members’ Area.

The figures in brackets given after each player name correspond to the numbered shirts in the position maps.

    Depending on Mount news, what do you think of these moves?

    VVD, Zinch, Dendo > TAA, Lowton, Cantwell (-4)

      Don't think you need two 4.5 Keepers. Maybe downgrade one to 4.0 and use the 0.5 saved to upgrade Kelly. Just bench Mount this week.

    Think people are jumping the gun here. I would certainly not transfer out either of Sterling or Salah despite recent blanks and minutes.

    Hold, it is early days and they are the two most expensive players in FPL which makes them tough to get back without a hit when they start hauling again...

      Forward line looks great. For me, it's better to spread the points across the team and we're currently blessed with cheapish forwards that can get similar returns to the expensive ones. I worry about no auba, but I'm happier with my team overall

      I am in a similar situation, or actually much worse. Thinking to go light at the back faster than I had planned. It is a close call, but you could just swap Sterling and Barnes to Kun + Cantwell for -4.

      I'm in same boat - have Haller instead of Barnes and TAA and Walker instead of Robbo and VVD. I've been close to wild carding to get aguero in for days, was hoping Sterling would score tonight and come off early to give me more confidence in him. I love my team for this week, and I think sterling will start - just losing rank due to captain blanks (sterling) and rivals owning aguero. It's a tough decision.

      Imo probably yes. But he was transferred out early when they were chasing, and it isn't a good sign. Happened to Sane last season and he was dropped after that.

              It's not really possible without massive changes.
              Digne > Rico
              Mount > Salah
              Wilson > Greenwood

              But you obviously lose your 3 up top. And actually sacraficing those 3 isn't worth it. Salah won't outscore those 3 combined.

      Who knows with Pep. He can have a rest after the Watford game for a week and as they're 5 points behind already he'll surely want his strongest 11 out, that's sterling, KDB and Aguero.
