Joe is joined by Az and David for the latest episode of the Scoutcast tonight.

This instalment will overlap with some EFL Cup action so we will do our best to bring you live updates from those matches if they have Fantasy Premier League implications.

Some of the key topics for dicussion in episode 302 include the luck vs skill debate as well as budget and premium defenders.

Gameweek 6 was characterised by the benching of Raheem Sterling (£12.1m), a popular captain candidate.

The fact that he did not take to the pitch for Manchester City’s 8-0 win over Watford meant that many vice-captains came into play.

Some of those fell to Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), some to Sadio Mané (£11.6m), while others landed on Kevin de Bruyne (£9.9m) who scored a whopping 17 points.

Joe, David and Az will fight it out to decree whether or not those who got the Belgian’s haul doubled-up were reaping the rewards of a good decision or simply lucky.

      Good attack but you've 8/7 starters and I'm not fond of Pamela. Maybe Majella to 4.5 and upgrade defence, especially Maitland Niles.

            I agree with this. Digne does have good attacking threat but it would be pretty exceptional if he got 10 assists over the season and if he’s not keeping cleansheets you’re then looking at a return every 3-4 games, which isn’t good enough.

              Yeah he has 106 points in 22 games year to date which is more than good enough - people are putting WAY too much emphasis on a couple of bad games imo - much more patience needed (for me anyways) before selling a player with such unbelievable potential & track record

                Also, isnt that 106 points almost entirely from that remarkable clean sheet run at the end of last season? They don't look even close to the same team. In preseason a lot of people said those clean sheets would dry up without Gueye and I disagreed; but they were right.

                  The CS run was over the last 10 games of the season so by the power of mathematics we can deduce that it contributed significantly - and that he's still in 4 PPG this season (I. E. On track for 160-ish,which I think he'll exceed)

                  Its sometimes important to consider where form ends and class starts - as form is temporary whereas class is permanent - and from an FPL perspective, Digne is class - his role is a huge advantage over almost every other defender in the game bar maybe TAA

                  Selling him to buy him back after he's hauled just doesn't do it for me 🙂

          Problem is that a higher proportion of people above you will already have Aguero for example - Sterling will almost be a differential in himself compared to the higher ranked managers due to a few blanks.

      I went back and forth between the two for some time. Dilva seems more consistent to me, so that's what I went with; and spent the extra money on Fabianski instead of Pope.

      Aside from that your team is pretty similar to mine. I have Sterling/Guendozi instead of KDB/Mount; and Tomori instead of Soy.

      Does it really matter. They don't look particularly likely to keep clean sheets so even at 4.0 he's probably not great value. If you're never going to play him, does it matter if he's nailed?
