Is Riyad Mahrez a viable cut-price FPL route into the Man City attack?

Averaging 10.50 points per start and providing better value for money (based on points per million spent) than all other Manchester City assets bar Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m), Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) is hovering on the Fantasy Premier League radar at present.

With De Bruyne nursing a groin injury and a doubt for the visit of Wolves on Sunday, the demand for Mahrez’s services may well step up a notch as we approach the weekend.

Currently, the Algerian is the fifth-most-bought FPL midfielder of Gameweek 8.

Successive double-digit hauls against Watford and Everton have increased interest, although he is still very much in differential territory when it comes to FPL ownership (4.1% at the time of writing).

Is he worth considering as a Fantasy option, then, in the weeks ahead?

      Doubt he'll fall in price (see Martial falling by just 0.1m despite ownership tanking by 75%+) so will be expensive to put back in if you take him out.

        Yeah i play 3 at the back and so it’s TAA on two others, I’m considering Montoya to Tomori, yes I can do Wilson to Vardy In one move, equally I can to Mané to Salah In one move, this is why I’m reluctant to do Montoya to Otamendi which wouldn’t be a sensible move I guess but I like having that money In the back to enable me to have a range of options.

    Have KDB so first on the bench likely to play, but who to put there?
    A) Soyuncu
    B) Rico

    I'm thinking that although Bournemouth are likely to get nailed by as many as 4, Arsenal's defence is so poor that an assist by Rico is not out of the question, so maybe he gets between 3-4 points with a bit of luck? With Soy, I think Leicester have the ability to frustrate Liverpool, but a clean sheet is unlikely so a 2 or 1 pointer. But in my gut it feels that Soy has the higher ceiling.

        I had Pepe from Totenham game, and it's been frustraiting. Mahrez feels like a much better option at this time.

    2FT, I can't believe this but I'm actually considering burning one. Maybe swap Button for McGovern though that feels pointless if he is going to be 3rd choice soon anyway? Any ideas?
