Should FPL managers own Salah or Mané for upcoming fixtures?

Eight Gameweeks into the 2019/20 season and Sadio Mané (£11.7m) has scored more points than Mohamed Salah (£12.5m).

The Senegalese international has 57 to his name, coming from five goals and two assists.

Meanwhile, his Egyptian colleague, still the most expensive Fantasy asset, has found the net just four times on top of his three assists.

That has made for a total score of 55, two short of his cheaper colleague.

That difference of £0.8m in price between the two players exacerbates the concern Fantasy managers have right now.

According to the official FPL website, Mané is offering a season value of 4.9, compared to Salah’s 4.4.

Thus far, those who spent the best part of an extra £1.0m on the Egyptian international have not got what they paid for compared to those who went with Mané.

With the second international break coming at an ideal time, it means we can assess how the two assets have played so far this season and work out which of them will prove the better option moving forward.

How do they compare for goal threat this season?

    Which one? Cant choose really.

    a) Pukki to Vardy for free.
    b) Salah and Greenwood to Maddison and Vardy for a hit.

Looks like as always when Mane outperforms salah his stats are unsustainable. Everyone will come crawling back to Mo soon enough

3.5m price difference and 0.8 price difference are Worlds apart. Easy not to go to mo last year with use of extra funds but this year. I’d prob still go back to mo in a few weeks after just selling this week. Only go for Mane if I miscalculated my planned buy back financial / budget.

Mane is a superb player, Mo is a superb player with set pieces and pens who costs 1.0 more...

Double up very viable but ultimately in the 'choose 1' scenario, its hard to look past Mo, for me personally anyways

The same pattern repeats itself quite often - Mo has a few quiet games, gets sold, hattricks, gets bought back, does well for a few games, gets bought some more, has a quiet few games, gets sold, hattricks etc etc

B, 1 for the long term (though fixtures are better for King than McGinn)

Right now the Salah owners are being punished and unless you got Pukki Lucky and smart about KDB early...your rank sucks

Salah and all player returns are naturally lumpy. That’s the game. So dumping Salah is risking his lumpy returns after you suffered the drought

Yep, I can be wrong. I’m not a top 5K player. So DONT LISTEN to me, find a better FPL player

I like your thinking bud, Salah will come good and I'm keeping instead of Mane so I dont miss a big Salah hatrick
