Pro Pundits

Introducing the FFScout Pro Pundits initiative

The Fantasy Football community has never been bigger, with over seven million managers picking a team each week. Of course, this also means its never been more competitive and harder to maintain a top rank.

Over the last twelve years, Fantasy Football Scout has established itself as the leading resource in this space by serving the entire community with tools and tips to help you stay ahead of the game.

This week we’re delighted to announce a brand new initiative to provide even more advice for every aspiring manager and consolidate our position within the industry.

Our Pro Pundits squad collects together some of the leading voices and rising stars from across the Fantasy world to share their insights. Every week these Fantasy philosophers will publish updates on their own teams in the form of articles and Hot Topics on site outlining their tactics and the thought processes behind their selections.

Our Members will also benefit from their full unedited insight and some enhanced elements and, as part of our ongoing commitment to support the community as a whole, we will be sharing a fair amount with all FFS visitors.

We will also be opening up a chance to engage with the Pro Pundits via regular Hot Topics and comments on the site plus appearances on popular videos such as the Scoutcast and Breakfast Club.

You can expect to hear a lot more information about recruits to the Pro Pundits in the coming weeks, but for now, we’d like to introduce you to a first names we have signed up.

Our Pro Pundit Signings

  • Simon March
  • Ash from FPL Hints
  • Az Phillips
  • Utkarsh Dalmia (FFS user zØphar)
  • lateriser12 (FFS user)

Simon March – Former champion

Simon March is a former Fantasy Premier League world champion, who claimed the title in the 2014/15 season and has been a regular on the FPL punditry circuit ever since.

He has made regular appearances on our videos and in the columns of the Question Time article – so we are looking forward to hearing more of his insight.

FPL Hints

Chief or FPL Hints, is a huge Fantasy community influencer. With over 75,000 followers on Twitter, he has been producing content on our favourite Fantasy game for years.

He has also been a valuable member of our Question Time panel over the last 12 months and has this season taken on the responsibility of selecting the best differentials each Gameweek. He will continue to publish this article for the duration of 2019/20 as well as providing us with updates on his own squad.

Az Phillips

Az has been a contributor to the site and Scoutcast guest for many years and we are excited to finally be able to promote him to the Pro Pundits scheme. The Brighton supporter has three top 10k finishes in his long Fantasy career, the best of which was a rank of 817 in the 2017/18 season.

Lateriser12

FFScout user Lateriser12 has a very impressive Fantasy CV. He has registered two finishes in the top 200 (one of them equating to number one in India) and four in the top 10,000 in the last 6 seasons. The secret to his success has been playing non-conventionally and fearlessly, swearing by ‘upside chasing’ and not giving ownership much of a look.

Utkarsh Dalmia (ZØphar)

An FPL veteran of 10 seasons, Utkarsh Dalmia has been a member of the site right since 2009 and has finished in the top 5k in six of those campaigns, with a best finish of 17th in 2010. A Chelsea fan based in India, he relies heavily on statistics for his FPL decision-making process.

Keep an eye out for Pro Pundits articles and Hot Topics from now on, the first ones should be arriving later today.

We have also added a section on the top menu bar of the website, between our ‘Gameweek Guides’ and ‘Articles’ tabs for you to have easy access to the latest Pro Pundits content.

Furthermore, we will be unveiling further new signings to the squad next week.

Thank you once again to you our readers for the support you have given us over a period of transition in recent years.

It is through your contributions and input that we are able to continue growing the site and maintaining its position at the top of the Fantasy field.

Flip flopping right up until the deadline knowing me...
I'm quite keen to take a few modest chances (CHO, Tierney etc.) but already have a dodgy rank. It's decisions like Auba that are hard near the deadline - suddenly you get the fear to bring back Sterling even those he's been a pain for ages

    Sterling or Mane. Tough decision.

    Sterling
    - fixtures
    - better captain option
    - easier to downgrade to Mane
    - pep says ' back to basics' so may mean sterling not stuck on left

    Mane
    - form
    - rising in ownership and value
    - not stuck to the left sided advertisement board
    - no sofa for pool games

    Already have Kun and KDB

    So it's a dream that I had.
It was a DGW, I had City assets (think more than 3), I opened my team to see
Kun 1st on bench with 25 pts and that too after not starting the first one of the DGW.
I had the person who started instead of him in the first match in my XI, scored around 15pts - Jamie Vardy, who was apparently playing for the lighter blue City.
    Weird stuff

        How come you'd avoid?

I need one player around that price to rotate with Cantwell as my final attacker (not a fan of bench fodder).

I meant Maupay. Connolly looks like best bench option in 3-5-2 though.

Liverpool have tricky games coming up, so not sure I'd be doubling up on their defence?

Thanks Tambling5, good point - I could double up on Wolves or Leicester who have good fixtures upcoming. The double up on Liverpool is a pure punt, based upon Alison returning and both Man U (A) and Tot (H) being eminently clean sheetable before the fixtures apparently turn. On that basis, weeks 9-18 are pretty good with the exception of MCI (H).

Doing this on a w/c saves me a transfer for Matip (if affordable) in week 13. There aren't any other defences / defenders I trust outside of these 3 teams, so the other option is go cheaper (say Boly) and bank the extra 0.6, as there's no ultra compelling option I can think of to upgrade the front 7 (and no point upgrading Nakamba).

Sneaky old Poch doesn't seem to have said anything, but Son was still in South Korea this morning so at best is probably still in the air on the way here.

No mention, Son owner here though and have been keeping an eye on any news. It appears he was still in Asia this morning after enduring a pretty tough game against NK on Tuesday. With champions league and a Liverpool to follow next weekend I’d be surprised if he featured at all. Also to note Lucas moura and dele had no international duty so they will be fresh to play.

    Wilson Vardy Abraham

CHO could be huge, Vardy easy downgrade or upgrade to Laca etc. Saka could become Dendonk but such a low ceiling

If I would pick one player of Leicester it would always be Maddi instead of Vardy.
I'm also going with Jimi but it's a risk with those stupid EL fixtures.

Your wc looks good! Hope Tierney works out.

    Quiet Thursday afternoon

Starting Man City striker guess play:

    PL (a) Palace : Jesus
    CL (H) Atalanta: Aguero
    PL (H) Villa: Aguero
    LC (H) Southampton: Jesus
    PL (H) Southampton: Aguero
    CL (a) Atalanta: Jesus

Ps Sterling will start 4 or 5 and won’t be involved at all in minimum of 1 ( think villa or one of Soton matches)

City have played 7 away games this season:
        Jesus started 5 (5 wins)
        Aguero started 2 (1 win / 1 loss)

Jesus missed Bournemouth away due to injury & was benched having just returned from injury v Norwich.

Aguero starts everything at home in CL and PL dating back to January 2019 (missing Cardiff in April only due to injury)

Aguero not been away over int break, so if fit I think he'll start against Palace. Atalanta game should be more straightforward so I think he may rest then.

Are there many Norwich players back this GW and more specifically- any attacking/creative options back that are going to help out Pukki?

happy with my team but have 2 free transfers and it seems a waste to not use one. any of you guys ever run into that 1st world problem?

With Liverpools small run of tough fixtures, was thinking of freeing up some cash and getting rid of VVD (have Trent).

    VVD to

    A) Tomori
    B) Soyuncu
    C) Boly

    or just hold.
