Scoutcast Episode 306 – What to do about Aguero and Man City rotation?

Manchester City rotation and the fallout from Leicester City’s remarkable 9-0 win over Southampton dominate the discussion in this week’s Scoutcast.

David and Az have the perfect guest to reflect on the rout at St. Mary’s, as they are joined by Foxes fan and Jamie Vardy captainer Andy Goddard.

Andy also reveals how he has ascended to the top of the FFS Mods and Cons mini-league despite – or perhaps because of – having no Liverpool and Manchester City representation.

There is plenty of airtime devoted to Pep Guardiola’s maddening tinkering as the debate rages over how we handle the unpredictability of the champions’ starting XIs.

A discussion on the defensive template also throws up various names, both budget and premium.

Andy takes his turn to choose a differential after the success of Joe’s Neal Maupay pick, while David reveals the best teams for clean sheets.

There’s plenty of roughs and a smattering of smooths as Az summarises the community’s fortunes in Gameweek 10.

The trio’s transfer and captain plans are also unveiled as we prepare for the penultimate Gameweek before the November international break.

    Sorry, Bottomed on last page....

Very close at the top of my mini league between 3 of us.
They both have KDB and Dilva, I have KDB and Sterling.

Assuming they both cap KDB (likely) should I do the same and hope Sterling gets more than Dilva (likely) or is it best to Cap Sterling in that situation?
I'm historically bad/unlucky at captain choices, but having my best year so far, so wondering what people think.

    Any help appreciated

Rule #1 with captaincy is pick the player you think will score the most

      don’t worry about others’ captains

      1. Boberella
        • 7 Years
        4 years, 5 months ago

That's a fair bit of feedback. Although I just do not know who I think will scorer most out of the two. Could go either way.
I'll stick to my gut with KDB..
And Sterling is my differential to the rivals anyway, so if he hauls I'll still reap the rewards.

      2. Pukki Blinders

This strategy has failed me... 7 captaincy blanks so far.

Surely has to be Sterling in this case. If they had Sterling I'm sure they'd captain over KDB. After all you are paying 12.0m for him so may aswell captain him.

Still way too early in the season to worry about what other people are doing. Play your own game.

You should just go for the player.you think will score most. It should work out in the long run if you keep doing it.

May be they somehow bring Sterling in the team and captain him? So I guess go with the player you think will score more points. I am on Sterling BTW

How do people rate this move?
    Wilson + Madds --> Jimi + Martial

No Vardy worries me but no other way to get him in without removing one of KDB/Sterling/Mane... don't mind taking a bit of a punt.

it was a big factor for burnley last season and wood and barnes didnt come good until they were free of those extra games AND travel time. sean said afterwards they underestimated the impact.

I brought Maddison in last week and immediately regretted it. In a 9-0 game he was very lucky to get any points; he was playing so deep, him and Ndidi playing just in front of the back four, every time they rebuilt from the back he would drop back further and never got anywhere near threatening the area. I'm looking to ditch asap and Martial is high on my list of potential replacements.

But it's basically a striker, who might be on penalties in for a holding midfielder who is on set pieces. I'm looking at Barnes, Tielemans or dare I say it Perez as Maddison replacements. Barnes has been looking superb and frees up funds to bring in a Robertson on Vardy.

He has been creating chances every match. Also next matchbis hapless Spurs. After Norwich he definitely should be gone but next 3 there is good chances of returns

Too short term an outlook imo. You'll probably feel the same about a Pool attacker in a couple gameweeks, but you'll still have Otamendi and King in your team.

And don't lose KDB. I take it you've used WC already?

Save FT probably. I'd be looking to move It's on, Robertson appeals. Or downgrade and upgrade King to Vardy.

A sounds too sideways. Maybe Mane to Sterling and get back after city game. Mendy back has helped Sterling a lot. I would personally do King to Rashford if I were u

Save FT. - 8s are rarely the best ways to catch up if you are behind. Losing the defender who is just behind KDB for putting balls into the box, just before a purple patch of fixtures is lunacy.

The -8 not nice, but and against what people will say, using TAA funds might not be a bad idea. Mids prices from 5.7 to 6.5 are good value atm. If TAA was playing for Citeh, he would have 505 more points than he has now. It is dangerous moving him out but if you are chasing it could be a decent call. Moving Cho is a good call but I would look for a straight swap in his price bracket and bank the 8 points for now.
Every stat suggests TAA about to explode but it has not happened yet. With (Lund Soy Rico) there is ample cover for a Cancello, Mendy to miss the odd game and probably have the potential to score same points per minute as TAA Robbo etc.

definitely not for me sorry. keep taa, pool fixtures are turning soon and you will fall further behind if he hauls.

Rank dropped from 12k to 500k in 3 gws. Better to play it safe and do kun > sterling for a hit? Or take a chance with kun c and save ft? If kun gets benched and sterling gets a brace it's over.
