Merry Christmas from Fantasy Football Scout

Christmas Day has finally arrived, providing many of us with a chance to take a much-needed break from Fantasy Premier League, as hard as that is.

While you’re doing your best to ignore FPL, everyone here at Fantasy Football Scout would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

While you’ll probably be digesting roast dinner rather than FPL content on this special day, I am sure many of you will be considering what to do with Son Heung-min after his Gameweek 18 red card.

Don’t forget, if you’re struggling to balance family life and FPL, former world champion Simon March has provided us with some much-needed tips. READ THEM HERE.

Thankfully, we had enough time to produce plenty of articles ahead of the Boxing Day fixtures so make sure you head over to our Gameweek 19 guide in the top menu for everything you need for tomorrow.

Until then, I would like to thank our many readers, listeners and viewers for another year of fantastic support for Fantasy Football Scout.

After the transitional season of 2018/19, with myself, Neale and Geoff coming onto the team, the 2019/20 campaign has been one of continued growth for the site.

Further increases in viewing figures and membership sign-ups have helped us invest back in more new signings including a team of talented ProPundits, video and community manager Andy Mears, as well as expanded involvement for FPL Family pair Sam and Lee Bonfield.

A great big thanks also goes to our team of mods for the thankless job they do for us every day.

That just leaves me to make another rare request for you to tear yourself away from the site for this one day of the year and spend some time with your family and friends.

Captain Sensible and the Scout Picks articles went up yesterday so there won’t be too much more to have a look at today.

We’ll be hearing from Pro Pundit Az Phillips a little bit later today but apart from that, it’s going to be a quiet one until the Boxing Day matches.

Once again, everyone here at Fantasy Football Scout, wishes you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and a Christmas Tree of green arrows between now and the end of the season.

What player do you think will be the most transferred in player the upcoming three GWs?

    I’m guessing Pogba

Imo he will be playing too deep in the MF and won't be on penalties - he cud enhance the chances for martial and rashford in terms of FPL but I doubt if he gets a big haul for himself

I’m very exited about how Ole will utilise him. They need his creativity further up field I think.

Ole will just ask him where he wants to play. Pogba will tell him and Ole will agree.

Dropping Rashford can backfire when he is a captaincy material this week but incoming players should do well.

Its risky but I would say yes.

(Just dropping Son to someone is also an alternative)

Yeah. My problem is I don’t like how Spurs looked, and can’t get to Salah without a hit.

Just wait one week, play Cantwell and get salah for free next week? Have mane.

This was one of my options for the week for -4 but I think I’m keeping Rashford and just doing Son >> Cantwell

So I can afford Richarlison/Moura >> Salah next week.

    Dunk to Aurier for a - 4?
Spurs has good upcoming fixtures. And I think Mourinho will get the defense back on track. Dunk or Aurier will be playing for me next week, and since I think it's more likely that Spurs gets a CS, good move?

      Not sure to be honest

It can work but based on last few performances, there is not much difference in Brighton and Spurs' defense.

If you're relatively certain Aurier will return, go for it, but taking a hit for a defender generally doesn't work out well.

Who would you captain here? 4.3m in bank:

    Henderson
    Aurier, Lundstram, Kelly
    KdB, Willian, Alli, Cantwell, Mane
    Mane, Rashford

    McG, Ings, Soy, Rico.

    Thanks dudes.

Thinking vardy as well. On KdB for now, but don’t like the wolves fixture - they seem to have «found out» city.

Had it on vardy and last minute changed to son this weekend - still annoys me. Starting to think it’s better just to keep it on a Vardy than to move it around

Anyone think there is rotation risk with Lundstram vs Watford? He is on 4 yellow cards and the next two are City and Liverpool where Wilder would perhaps be less likely to rest first team players. The fact that Freeman is also a more attacking player makes it more reasonable to rest Lundstram vs Watford if he will be rested in any of the 3 matches within the week.

He is my first choice captain if he plays so wondering whether it’s too risky or not. Any thoughts?

Doubt it. Think he plays. If it ain't broke...

Don’t the yellows reload after Watford as well? So it’s the only game where he risks the suspension?

          The threshold changes to 10.

Yeah I think so. If he will be rested at any point, pretty sure it will be vs Watford. However last season Norwood and Fleck played full 90 in championship in all games with a similar schedule so looks like Wilder isn’t that much into midfield rotation.

Overall I think he is still more than 50% likely to start but perhaps a but too risky for captaining.

Have Grealish. Was a bit worried about Mount rotation.

You can try Zaha. Otherwise options are limited...

Haha. Have zaha as well actually. I think I'll just toss a coin bw Mount and Antonio.
Was considering Son and Jimenez out for Kane and a 6.9 in for a hit.

    Gazzaniga
    Lundsram TAA Kelly

Mcgovern Soyüncü ( Rico mcginn ) out

On WC20, which of the premium midfield / fwd assets do we think are most likely to avoid rotation?

Would like either Mane/Sterling to add to KDB/Salah/Alli midfield.

Or am I safer spreading the cash and strengthening bench?

    Current wc20 draft:

    Ramsdale McGovern
    Soy Aurier Lund Kiko Dunk
    Salah Sterling KDB Alli Grealish
    Vardy Tammy Greenwood

One nonstarter is the most you should aim to have on your Bench

Greenwood is the only non starter (except gk which is irrelevant)

Don't know much about ancelotti. What do we expect from him? Should we invest in attack or defence?

Wait and see. He's used to coaching better technical players than he has at Everton. Needs to cut his cloth to measure so too soon to tell what me might do.

      A raised eyebrow.
Likes a 4-4-2 with one of the full backs pushing up.
Guessing Digne will be the one to look at.

The others are a wait and see for a few weeks to see who he likes. Hoping Siggy comes to the fore.
I have Richarlison but probably moving to Salah next week.

Hmm. Maybe Siggy and Digne then. I'm all set on Siggy for some reason. Liverpool rated bottom of fixture difficulty so I'm not sold of Salah. Already have Mane and taa

          Liverpool fixture proof.
Siggy is at a good price. I’m hoping he starts against Burnley.
2 tough fixtures after that though. Newcastle and Man City.

          I’d wait until after City.

Based on his Napoli days, one thing we can expect is heavy rotation of attackers. Even Mertens, Napoli’s best player, was benched quite often.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

I would like to play Cantwell and perhaps Tomori as well but no room at the inn. Would you bench any of these and play either of the aforementioned?

    Guaita
    TAA Tomkins Lundstram
    Mané KDB Alli Grealish
    Vardy Abraham Jiménez

    Button Cantwell Tomori Soyuncu

    Cheers!

Is there any movie or web series that you can watch more than once?

I find it pretty boring to watch something that I have already completed! 😀

Is there an easy answer to who is better to bring in as Son's replacement out of
    A) Richarlison
    B) Grealish

Richarlison plays more advances, slightly better team. But on the other hand there is the uncertainty factor with the new manager

Grealish is the star man for AVL and on penalties. But, with Mings' and McGinn's injury not really sure about the team's overall performance
