Lundstram returns as Klopp names a full-strength team

The final match of Gameweek 21 – and the last of 39 Premier League fixtures contested over the past fortnight – takes place at Anfield.

Sheffield United are the visitors to Liverpool, with kick-off on Merseyside at 20:00 GMT.

Given the no-shows from the likes of Jamie Vardy (£10.1m) and Sergio Aguero (£11.7m) on New Year’s Day, some Fantasy managers may be counting on returns of some sort from John Lundstram (£5.2m).

The good news on that front is that Fantasy Premier League’s most-owned ‘defender’ is fit to start this evening, having made a swift recovery from the twisted ankle that forced his absence at the Etihad on Sunday.

Lundstram replaces Mo Besic (£4.4m) in the Sheffield United starting XI, while David McGoldrick (£5.4m) returns to the side at the expense of Callum Robinson (£5.0m) in Chris Wilder’s only other alteration.

Jurgen Klopp has also kept changes to a minimum, with his solitary tweak seeing James Milner (£5.3m) replace Adam Lallana (£5.8m) in midfield.

Naby Keita (£5.8m) had originally been named in the team but injured himself in the warm-up.

That means there are starts for all five Liverpool players who have a double-digit ownership in FPL: Mohamed Salah (£12.3m), Sadio Mane (£12.3m), Virgil van Dijk (£7.0m), Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.4m) and Andrew Robertson (£7.0m).

Salah and Mane are among the ten most-captained players in Gameweek 21, with only one of the other eight – Tammy Abraham (£7.8m) – scoring more than two points yesterday.

The reverse fixture of this match saw Liverpool defeat the Blades 1-0, with Wilder’s side one of just three teams who have not conceded more than one goal to Klopp’s troops in a league fixture this season.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita, Salah, Mane, Firmino.

Sheffield United XI: Henderson, Basham, Egan, O’Connell, Stevens, Baldock, Lundstram, Norwood, Fleck, Mousset, McGoldrick.

        Cheers mate. Been a weird season. I was in the top 50k and 100k for a few weeks and then fell consistently every week until last few when I have had small green arrows every week. Wrong captain choice this week cost me more (Vardy, KDB).

        We are only half way through the season - still plenty of time for you to get back to where you belong mate 😉

    BAPs and assist in FPL are an absolute disgrace - yesterday we see Söyüncü getting 2 BPS in a game where he does absolutely nothing (gets same BPS as Perez, who got winning goal + assists).
    Today Salah is robbed of an assist and may end up with 0 BAPs after one of the best passes in the game.
    LOL, it just doesn't make sense.

      I'll settle the debate. Double defense is a MONSTROUS risk, that rarely if ever pays off for more than a week or two. Mane and Salah are two of the highest scoring players in the league, and you only need 1 fullback to complement them. Anyone who argues otherwise can take it up with me, I'll debate them until I am put into my grave.

    However in FPL land I’m 53 all out and a red arrow from 124k to 133k. Feels very meh.

    After this match I’m still undecided whether to get in Salah or Robbo alongside Mané and TAA...

    A brutal Christmas period. I only scored 178 points across 4 GWs seeing a disastrous OR drop from 100k to 850k (my new rank according to LiveFPL). I’m losing serious ground in all my MLs too. For the first time in 10 seasons of playing, I will be using my WC now as opposed to later in the season (around the usage of chips and DGWs). I can’t afford to drop back any further at this stage. Painful season so far!

    Do you think that's enough differentials for somebody who is 600k and not really going anywhere? I know you should just pick the players you think will do well, but tonight was a bit of an eye opener. I had TAA(c), Robertson & Salah owner and still only got myself a poverty green arrow.

    Feel I need to do something different. Half considering adding Sidibe to my backline and playing 4-4-2 most weeks. That would give me Doherty, Trent, Robbo, Sidibe

      You don't need differentials, just pick the best players that you can. I've gone from over 2m to 255k in the last 11 weeks without any 'differentials'.
