Who are the best Arsenal players to consider under Mikel Arteta?

Won one, drawn one, lost one: Mikel Arteta has had a so-so start to life as Arsenal manager by way of Premier League results.

Monday night’s victory over Leeds United in the FA Cup was also a Jekyll-and-Hyde display, with the Gunners very much second-best to their Championship opponents in the first half before drastically improving after the break.

While the scorelines haven’t always gone Arteta’s way, there have been visible signs of improvement under his stewardship.

Should Fantasy managers be renewing their interest in Arsenal assets, then?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.8m) aside, we have largely dodged the Gunners this season: the Gabon international is the only one of Arteta’s squad who can boast a double-digit ownership in Fantasy Premier League at present.

FPL bosses may have been sufficiently scarred by Unai Emery’s team selections or the Londoners’ dismal away form in the preceding 18 months to be tentative about revisiting Aubameyang and co for now.

Still, the fixtures demand our interest.

Arsenal face only two of the current top seven between now and Gameweek 32 (the clash with Manchester City in Gameweek 28 may well be rearranged due to the Citizens’ likely involvement in the EFL Cup final) and sit fourth in our Season Ticker as a result.

With that in mind, we follow up our recent articles on Watford and Everton by looking more closely at the impact that Arteta has had on the Gunners.

          I mean he's a great candidate if he plays but there is also the chance of a 1 pointer off the bench. Captain choices are hard enough without that danger being in the mix. Personally I'd captain Vardy out of your team, Salah an option too but Maureen might park the bus big time.

    There's so much talk about which 3 Pool players to get, but surely it depends on which two you already have right? So I was looking at double-ownership combinations in the top 10k. In each case, who would you go for in each of the following cases?

    A) Already have TAA and Robbo (7.19%). Get in Salah or Mane?
    B) Already have Mane and Robbo (9.54%). Get in TAA or Salah?
    C) Already have Salah and TAA (13.3%). Get in Mane or Robbo?
    D) Already have Mane and Salah (5.82%). Get in TAA or Robbo?
    E) Already have Salah and Robbo (1.71%). Get in TAA or Mane?
    F) Already have Mane and TAA (58.7%). Get in Salah or Robbo?

    I reckon Mane, TAA, unsure, TAA, Mane, Robbo.
    I've personally already got Salah and definitely want to get TAA so it's down to Robbo or Mane for me.

      That decision isn't as complicated as you think imo... If you can get mane and salah without destrying your team or do multiple hits so it's the best option if not go with defence double up... Firmino isn't a very bad shout too.

        Yeah, it's the same number of transfers for me since I had downgraded Kane to DCL after his injury.
        So it's either get Robbo and replace Pulisic with someone around the same price-bracket and keep Rashford. Or get Mane, and replace Rashford with Ings or Deeney. I think you're right, given my situation the Salah + Mane double is an obvious choice.

      I think its better to look at what you can achieve easily without much sacrifice plus what you want for long term.

      Salah, Mane, Trent is being considered as ideal trio. I dont think you could go wrong with any of the possible trio. Can always make the change if required.

        I have enough in the bank to get either Salah, Mane, TAA or Salah, TAA, Robbo with the same number of transfers. And I have enough players that warrant removal in each position, with Pulisic, Rashford and Evans all on the chopping board. I think I will go with the offensive double and enjoy the games.
