Masuaku set for attacking midfield in Gameweek 22 opener

David Moyes has re-opened the door to an avenue once thought firmly closed.

Fantasy Premier League defender Arthur Masuaku (£4.2m) looks set for a return to the attacking midfield role he played during Moyes’ first spell as the West Ham manager.

He has been named in the same side as Aaron Cresswell (£4.7m) while attacking midfielders Robert Snodgrass (£5.2m) and Pablo Fornals (£6.0m) are both on the bench.

With the Hammers preparing for two fixtures in Double Gameweek 24, all eyes will be on Masuaku tonight.

Meanwhile, there is just one change to the Sheffield United side that lost at Liverpool.

Lys Mousset (£4.8m) drops to the bench so that Oli McBurnie (£5.7m) can star alongside David McGoldrick (£5.4m) up-front.

That means key Fantasy assets such as John Lundstram (£5.1m) and Dean Henderson (£4.9m) keep their places in the starting line-up.

Sheffield United XI: D Henderson; O’Connell, Egan, Basham; Stevens, Fleck, Norwood, Lundstram, Baldock; McBurnie, McGoldrick.

West Ham United XI: Fabianski; Cresswell, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Zabaleta; Noble, Rice; Masuaku, Lanzini, Anderson; Haller.

Only on those minuscule not clear and obvious offsides, for everything else seems to be working fine.

Flappy owners, here is a thought:

      Keep Flappy and do 4.0->McCarthy.

Flappy might be back for DGW. McCarty covers the injury now and in 26/27 when Wham play City/LIV, Sou play Bur and Villa at home.

Haha - well some are considering upgrading him to Pickford etc.

          Skimps can get Ryan/Foster.

Btw Id lose points as a Lundstrum owner. Talking about the games itself have been a home and away match going season ticket holder.

I was just about to post something similar. I cancelled my sky sports subscription because I don't get any enjoyment out of watching the games anymore. Even watching soccer saturday, listening on the radio etc is a joyless experience because you can't celebrate or kick the cat because you know some muppets in an office are going over it with a fine tooth comb looking for an excuse to chalk off the goal.

It's absolutely this I'm glad I rarely go to the match any more because moments like this will ruin your weekend. Also given what it costs to go to premier League games especially if you have a children it's crazy. If they don't get this system in control I can see far more kids being put off the sport.

Football was the beautiful game for a reason.

Makes me glad I go and watch a non-league team with my son. Sometimes the refs are awful and mistakes are made, but you can't beat celebrating a goal in the moment, it's what football is all about and VAR has killed that for supporters of premier league teams (and fantasy football players!).

      Anyone blaming VAR is clueless.

      It’s the stupid rule.

VAR did it’s job perfectly implementing the rules.

The problem is I'm sure I can recall handball incidents/goals that go to VAR that just hit the hand like that and it hasn't overturned them.

People seem to forget that VAR was brought in to disallow goals. Because fans kept moaning about handball (remember Henry vs Ireland or Boly vs Man City?) and offside goals being given.
