My Alonso © success a couple of weeks back has me hankering to back Doherty (or Alonso again) a little! Jimmy surely has to be due this week too...time to fire up some friendlies.
I'd go Kane too. I want him in my team but would involve dropping Salah or Mane. Right now it seems too risky to choose, but also could have it done for free transfers if I could make my mind up...
Random off topic question.....Anyone here ever play the bundesliga fantasy league? I decided to start a mini league with some friends...obviously a shortened campaign with only 10 or so matches left....and definitely tough to make a balanced squad with most player prices so high after 75% of the season completed....but something to keep us busy until premier league fantasy starts back up...whenever that is.
One thing I've found is the point categories are much better in bundesliga....they award points for things like shots on target, duels won, etc. Much more fun. But the filters they have for analysis are so lacking. They don't even have a filter for minutes played.
Just curious if anyone has any tips or feedback on their experience playing bundesliga fantasy.

There are 9 green fixtures this gameweek which is a lot. Man City and Liverpool play each other and I will want Salah and TAA back for Norwich at home on Sunday. Plus it's a bank holiday and I fancy tinkering!! 😀
i wced out salah and taa but might do like lego and just get salah back with 2ft just for the norwich game. taa bound to erupt soon but got sick of waiting so ill just have to accept it when it comes.

Is anyone looking at KDB for the Captaincy in VFPL? Although Man City are playing against the leagues meanest defence, they have scored 29 goals at home, and KDB is yet to blank in a Home game so far.
Thoughts on the 5 subs allowed now when play resumes? Seems like it could make the scoring lower possibly as well as difficult to navigate who will and won’t be subbed on the reg??

If we get a resumption there will be no VAR. That can only be a good thing.
VAR’s biggest problem is it doesn’t cater for the fans in the stadium. As there won’t be any fans in the stadium then if we do get a resumption i think it would be the perfect time to use it.
VAR doesn't need to take place in the stadium either. Makes no sense to cancel VAR
How can that be a good thing. Playing most the season with VAR then taking it away. Suppose it benefits teams like UTD.
Integrity dies a little more with each idea they have.
Besides they haven't taken it away, UEFA gave the green light . Ive read it is very unlikely the prem will act on it due to upholding integrity * sniggers*
Football in its absolute essence is simply 11v11.
Many embellishments which have caused the game to have evolved to its current state, we think of as natural components rather than contrived additives.
However each of these creates an imbalance of some form or other.
Stripping football back to 11v11 is a step towards integrity of the game, not away from it.
VAR is a wonderful thing and the majority think so. It will only get better as it is used. Changing the rules for anything with 9 games to go is not a step towards integrity regardless of how desperate you may ( or may not ) be to get footballer back. The season should start and end with the same rules. If that can't happen then it shouldn't go on.
I dont understand the reasoning. Can VAR really only be officiated by putting multiple people in a small room? Seriously? We've all had to solve much harder problems than this.

I'd be looking at getting rid of Auba, if rumours are true he's definitely leaving I wouldn't expect him to play much in the restart. Could also be good to have some differentials like Alli, Son (from Barnes upgraded) or Rashford, Kane
In FPL GW 37 is scheduled to start at 2pm today. Am I right to think that transfers made after then will be for GW38 and then there will be no more Ft's? Is it likely that your FT will carry over to the restarted season (assuming there is one) if you don't use it?

No. For that to work you would need FPL to go against a all players earn 0 points in GW38 statement they have already given, and make a no more GW's are going to be added announcement before next weekends GW38 deadline.

I think we're all clueless at this point! Maybe get a second playing keeper, so possibly Button to McCarthy and Stephens to a United defender?
Looks pretty good - you could possibly look at Leicester attack (I’m still backing Vardy as a Suárez-lite in that Rodgers system - hopefully he doesn’t have any more kids or injuries) & (don’t laugh!) Man Utd defence though
Utd had actually finally started converting those (consistently solid) underlying defensive stats (or at least XGc) into Clean sheets with 5 CS in their last 8 games, and 4 CS in their last 5 games, all are reasonably priced too - AWB in particular was in a pretty explosive patch of form
The effect of Bruno on that team has been close to transformative - his ability to retain the ball is excellent, takes so much pressure off the back line, and McTominay’s return has helped a fair bit as well. Your namesake is still a bit of a weak link, particularly under the high ball, but there’s definitely a very visible uptick in defensive output there, with nice upcoming fixtures to boot
I’ve slow wildcarded to Salah, but now having second thoughts on whether Son + Rashford mightn’t be an interesting alternative to Salah + DCL
Salah is obviously top drawer - but I was looking at his PPA the other day:
Salah away 5.1 PPA (62 points, 12 apps)
Salah home 8.9 PPA (124 points, 14 apps)
Salah with no Mané 11.6 PPA (58 points, 5 apps)
Mane is presumably going to play
Liverpool have 4 home fixtures remaining
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Salah underwhelm in his remaining 9 games
But then it also wouldn’t be surprising to see him get 100 points in those 9 games
Is there a vague order of effectiveness for Salah in FPL now though?
E.g. Salah with no Mane > Salah with Mane (home) > Salah with Mane (away)
Overall though, the resumption when/if it happens will surely see the form book thrown right out the window - it’ll be like GW1 all over again where the variance is ramped up to ridiculous levels & things will be pretty crazy FPL-wise

I can agree with that, I recently just got rid of Gary Cahill as his fixtures are very bad I may go with C.Taylor?
Max Aarons or Cathcart- both played considerably more minutes than any other 4.3 or under defender
But with more subs likely Williams might be an option for possible United attacking returns. Luke Shaw may struggle to maintain fitness if games come around fast

I don't get the need for neutral venues when the police seem happy with the home stadium being used.
Where have you seen that the Police are happy with games at home stadiums? Why would they want to have to deal with large numbers of fans congregating?
