Fantasy Allsvenskan Forwards

Our positional coverage ahead of Fantasy Allsvenskan concludes with forwards. There are plenty of options to consider so let’s just jump in!

Premium Forwards

Paulinho Guerreiro

Paulinho Guerreiro (10.5m) left Häcken at the end of last season to play for Hapoel Be’er Sheva. After picking up an injury in training he failed to feature for his new club, and they agreed to break the contract in January. Instead of heading back to Häcken however, Hammarby snatched him up to replace Nikola Djudjic who moved to Chinese side Chengdu Better City FC. There is no doubting the quality of Paulinho with his 31 goals and 12 assists over the last two seasons, but there are some question marks about his fitness. He’s had multiple knee injuries in the last couple of seasons but when he plays, he’s usually been one of the best strikers in the league. Now playing for an incredibly attacking Hammarby side, the interest he’s gathering is very understandable. In pre-season he looked quite off pace though but a lot might have changed since then. One thing that did stand out, however, is that he seemed to play more as a support striker or in the midfield, rather than as a classic “number nine”. That said, if things click for Paulinho, he’s likely going to be a big fantasy factor this season – regardless of position.

Aron Jóhannsson

The Hammarby striker that did impress in pre-season was Aron Jóhannsson (9.0m). Another player who’s struggled with injuries in his career previously, Jóhannsson now looks back to his best and was on the end of most things Hammarby created (along with midfielder Alexander Kačaniklić, 10.0m). Jóhannsson didn’t feature that frequently for Hammarby last season, mostly due to fitness but also because Nikola Djudjic was a very clear first choice. With Paulinho potentially taking up a more withdrawn role (remains to be seen), Jóhannsson could very well be in for a superb season in an attacking Hammarby side. Keep in mind rotation early doors though (this applies to most players in most teams) with the first three GWs in the space of just over a week.

Emir Kujovic

Golden boot winner when Norrköping won the league 2015, Emir Kujovic (10.0m) took the opportunity to move abroad. After a few unsuccessful years, he came back to Sweden half-way through 2019 to sign for Djurgården and build up fitness again. He spent most of the autumn playing second fiddle to Mohamed Buya Turay who has since left, but Kujovic is now ready to be the main striker for last season’s title winners. In nine appearances (where seven was off the bench) he scored four goals and three assists. In his career he’s played 143 Allsvenskan games, scoring 56 goals and contributing with 16 assists. He’s a different kind of striker than Buya Turay though (a lot less mobile) which means Djurgården are going to be even more dependent on crosses, set-pieces and other players creating spaces if they are to get the best out of him. Fullbacks Elliot Käck (6.0m)/Jonathan Augustinsson (5.5m) and Alsak Fonn Witry (7.0m) could find themselves teeing up Kujovic on more than one occasion!

Robin Söder

Göteborg striker Robin Söder (9.5m) had a great season last time around with 14 goals and 4 assists in 27 games. In a Göteborg side that changed a lot during the season, Söder was a constant force and in particular during the latter part of the campaign he really started to come into form. The first three games are very favourable with Elfsborg (H), Varberg (a) and Mjällby (H) but with gameweeks coming fast with little chance of rest in between, odds are Söder will get rotated a bit initially – especially given the fact he’s struggled to become fit ahead of the new season. When he plays, goals are highly likely and once the schedule eases, Söder could become template again real fast.

Giorgi Khariashvili

Currently a fitness doubt as well, Robin Söder’s strike partner Giorgi Kharaishvili (10.0m) also had a good season with seven goals and nine assists in 28 games. Kharaishvili plays a lot on the left-wing but he’s an incredibly hard worker in both defence and attack which led to him mopping up a lot of bonus points. In fact, he was the top gatherer of bonus points last season with a massive total of 43 (17 defensive, 26 offensive)! For more statistics on bonus point magnets of last season, be sure to check out Fantasyguiden who do a great job of keeping track of the fantasy statistics of Allsvenskan players. Kharaishvili’s positional flexibility could potentially mean he gets more game time than others, even with a tight schedule.

Isaac Kiese Thelin

While Malmö lost a huge profile and player when Markus Rosenberg decided to put the boots on the shelf after last season, Isaac Kiese Thelin (10.0m) has been brought in on a season-long loan from RSC Anderlecht. While the clubs he has featured for since moving abroad is quite impressive (Anderlecht, Bayer Leverkusen, Waasland-Beveren and Bordeaux) the stats aren’t quite as prolific. In the past five years he’s featured in 78 league games, scoring 19 goals and 9 assists (where 16 goals and 3 assists all came in the 2017/2018 season in 25 games for Waasland-Beveren). Allsvenskan is a different level though and as one of the stars of a Malmö side who’s going for the title, he’ll get plenty of chances to be a force to be reckoned with in fantasy this season. The squad depth of Malmö is crazy by Swedish standards so it would be very surprising to see him start and play 90 minutes each week – he might not have to though. Remains to be seen as well how he will he be impacted by the signing of Ola Toivonen.

Christoffer Nyman

Norrköping’s other golden boy (alongside the previously mentioned Emir Kujovic) was Christoffer Nyman (9.5m), who last year had a somewhat quiet season by his standards with 10 goals and 3 assists in 29 games. In 203 games played for Norrköping he has 57 goals and 24 assists and he’s a very popular player amongst most Norrköping fans, though there’s an increased feeling he has to provide a bit more points-wise this season to make up for a somewhat thin squad. Will he be able to do so when midfield maestro Sead Haksabanovic (10.0m) looks likely to return to West Ham from his loan in June? Perhaps, but there is no doubt that his prospects would be strengthened if Haksabanovic stays.

Henok Goitom

Turning 36 this year, AIK striker Henok Goitom (9.5m) remains a club-icon and a very talented striker. AIK has a pretty tough schedule to begin with though and his age could mean he needs to rest a bit more when the games come thick and fast. Eleven goals and ten assists in 30 games last year indicates he’s still got it, even though four goals and one assist came in a 5-1 win away to bottom-dwellers Falkenberg at the end of the season. Goitom will need to find his feet more swiftly this season if he is to be a good fantasy asset, as it took quite a lot of games before he scored anything other than assists last year.

Mid-priced Forwards

Jesper Karlsson

Elfsborg had a bit of a mediocre season last year and very little indicates that things will look different this time around. Jesper Karlsson (8.5m) impressed though and scored eight goals and five assists in 25 games. Question marks remain over the quality of Elfsborg’s creative players to provide for him and coach Jimmy Thelin has had a hard time getting his squad to gel since taking over. Nevertheless, Karlsson is a talented young player that will be looking to build upon last season – possibly with the aim of getting a move ahead of next season or in the autumn.

Alexander Söderlund

Brought in by BK Häcken to fill the void left by Alexander Jeremejeff, namesake Alexander Söderlund (8.5m) looks primed to be a good option for our squads – given time. Currently a bit of a fitness doubt, odds are most will steer clear in the first GWs. If you want to invest in a Häcken striker from the start, Jasse Tuominen (8.5m) is fit and will be tasked with taking up the role just behind the main striker most games. Once up and running though, Söderlund has the makings of a potential golden boot challenger. Fantasy Eliteserien managers will recognise him from Rosenborg BK as a player with a high ceiling, but who also struggles to keep a steady level on his performances points-wise. Last season he got eight goals and five assists in 28 games, the season before that eight goals and four assists in 27 games. Not massively impressive you’d be right to point out, yet in 2015 he scored 22 goals and four assists in 27 games so there is still a good player in there, the question is if Häcken and coach Andreas Alm can bring out the best in him. One to watch!

Patrik Karlsson-Lagemyr

An injury put a stop to a very successful start for Patrik Karlsson-Lagemyr (8.0m) where he got four goals and four assists in 13 games. Back in full training since March, he could very well be an interesting choice as the season progresses, in a Göteborg side that is riddled with potential fantasy options. Given the tight schedule at the start (I know, I know, it’s getting repetitive…) odds are he will be eased into it though.

Anthony van den Hurk

The man with the name that sticks with you, Anthony van den Hurk (7.0m) has joined Helsingborg from the second tier in the Netherlands. In the previous two seasons combined, he has scored 32 goals and four assists in 65 games, a very respectable tally. Helsingborg will need him to contribute from the start and with a favourable schedule, he could indeed be an interesting option. Helsingborg also has a thin squad so van den Hurk should get plenty of game time and could hit the ground running.

Jordan Attah Kadiri

One of pre-season’s most hyped strikers, Jordan Attah Kadiri (7.0m) scored four goals and one assist in the three Swedish cup games, coupled with a few extra goals in friendlies. Last season he got three goals in ten games but the young striker has big dreams of playing for Arsenal as well as actual Premier League connection, apparently being called up by Odion Ighalo and advised to “keep working hard in Europe” (they share the same agent). Östersund is a club with deep financial problems and if Kadiri starts firing on all cylinders, expect his tenure there to be short as both club and player will want a big move to secure the clubs continued survival. Facing Hammarby away in the first game might seem like a tough task for a 20-year old but Östersund tends to do quite well against Hammarby, and there will be space to exploit on the counter if last season is anything to go by.

Budget Forwards

Nils Fröling

A very popular choice as things stand, Kalmar striker Nils Fröling (6.5m) looks to be given a bigger role this season as he’s tasked with improving a Kalmar attack that seemed a bit lacklustre at times last year. Though five goals and two assists won’t impress many, he seems to have stepped it up a bit ahead of this season and crucially, he looks likely to get more playing time. Plenty of bigger clubs seem interested, will this be his breakthrough season?

Astrit Seljmani

Varberg striker Astrit Seljmani (6.0m) got named player of the year in Superettan last season when his 15 goals and six assists played a big part in earning Varberg a promotion to Allsvenskan. Varberg and Seljmani now face a different level of opposition and it remains to be seen how they cope with that. Seljmani is a classic case of talented player at a small club which is traditionally a good fantasy combo, yet even if he adapts quickly to life in the top division, his issue might be the level of his teammates who need to provide him with chances to convert.

Mamudo Moro

Mamudo Moro (5.5m) got four goals and one assist in three Swedish cup games. Mjällby impressed and Moro will get a lot of game time, which means he will find himself in plenty of fantasy squads this season. Mjällby starts off with a pretty difficult schedule though, so the key might be when to bench him, and when to put him on the virtual pitch.

Best of luck to you with the squad building! What strikers are you starting out with?

Many thanks to Meltens and Hansel for these invaluable articles. With your help I managed a decent 4K-ish finish last year, aided no doubt by some really lucky chip deployment, despite knowing nothing about Swedish football except how to sign Sharbel Touma, Zlatan Muslimovic and Kennedy Bakircioglu in Championship Manager 99/00!

Really looking forward to the coming season. It strikes me that last year the forward line across the league was a little thin, only a few key players were worth picking and the midfielders did most of the heavy lifting. It appears that there are no obvious standout picks this time round either. Do you think there is a case to be made for no more than 2 up front, or at least a cut-price front line?

      Thanks mate!
I think there’s definitely a case to skimp a bit on the strikers, especially when players like Moro come in at 5.5m which could give a lot of flexibility if you’re not planning to play him every week. More than anything the issue at the start is the tight schedule means that every club that’s destined to end up higher in the table also has the ability to rotate more freely than mid/lower table clubs.
Robin Söder, all the Malmö lads, both Jóhannsson and Paulinho, AIK strikers etc. all rotation risks either in GW1 or 2. Squad depth look crucial ahead of the first wildcard so a slightly cheeper frontline could help with that!

Thanks very much. Great advice 🙂

This year, by the way, I'm not going to miss GW1 due to forgetting that you lot are an hour ahead! That's another feature of my 2019 season... :S

Thank you mate, without you and Hansel, I, like many, would be floundering, you are giving us a chance to compete with you!

Kujovic for me to start with.

Good luck for the new season mate and thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    Cheers

      Cheers Johnny, all the best!

Kujovic looks like one of the few really good premium strikers 🙂 I’m wondering if I can get away with Holmberg instead as he can play both as a number ten and nine, if needs be. No doubt Kujo is the better striker but maybe Holmbergs defensive work and creative side could make up for some of it? Slightly worried about Jóhannsson now because of rotation initially.

Part of my thinking about Kujovic is that I may well captain him quite a bit, his home games are when Malmo and Hammerby are away, like in GW 2. I'm very happy to captain Kujovic but I couldn't say the same for Holmberg. Just my thought on the choice.

I wholeheartedly agree and if money was no object I’d go there as well. My mindset currently is start out with Holmberg and switch to Söderlund from Häcken when fit, or someone else who emerges!

Thanks a lot for your fine work writing all these articles and espacially also for the Fantasyguiden link. It works fine with Google translate and the fixture ticker is very helpful. Which Göteborg defender would you guys prefer: Calisir or Da Graca? I already have Wernersson. And which IFK defender: Krogh Gerson or Lauritsen? Thanks a lot for helping ...

At the moment, I'd go for Da Graca simply due to his lower price. Göteborg are looking for another CB, and depending on who they'll get, Da Gracas spot could potentially be under threat. He is however a good talent and was selected for the swedish national teams tour in january, so I'd be a bit suprised if they went for a new starting CB. He'll be safe for the first few weeks at least.

Cheers mate, I can’t take all the credit though as Hansel covered defs and mids! 🙂

As for Da Graca I agree with Bob, go for the cheaper option as they have roughly the same output.

Krogh Gerson now they they’re on the same price level, last season there was a full million between them!

Many thanks for the great articles, Meltens and Hansel! These have been really helpful for someone that feels very "Fantasy rusty" after such a long break from football.

I’ve been going back and forth with my team for a few days now, and think I have something that is close to acceptable for a GW1 squad. However, I do have 1.0 in the bank with this draft, and I’m not sure about my midfield yet. Could the 1.0 go towards an upgrade of Gerzic/Yusuf, or is it best to spend it elsewhere?

    Pettersson
Krogh Gerson - Ahmedhodzic - Käck
    Gerzic - Kačaniklić - Christiansen - Yusuf
    Jóhansson - Fröling - Kujovic

I'm a bit sceptical to the rather heavy attack there. Allsvenskan Fantasy is not like FPL, and there are usually a lot more value in premium defenders and midfielders. I'm personally no fan of Fröling, and 9.0 Johannsson is a lot of money on a rotation doubt. For that money, I'd want a guaranteed starter, and in midfield there are more options in that price bracket (Irandust, Aiesh, Bojanic, Levi, Svensson, Ring etc).

I'd concider freeing up some cash to improve the midfield. Fröling to a 4.5 fodder would give you 3.0 to spend, and would afford upgrading Gerzic and Yusuf to Levi and Svensson for example. But it depends on how the rest of your team looks?

Norrköping have some tough early fixtures, so I'm not convinced by the defensive doubble-up there. Gerson could be moved back to a more tradition RB role which could affect his attacking potential, and as long as Haksabanovic is around and Nyman is fit, Gerson could lose all set-pieces as well.

To be honest, I'm a little bit sceptical too, and I would probably go for a heavy defence – but I wonder if it will be many clean sheets from the start, given the break we've had from football.

I might just downgrade Fröling though, and see what that leaves me with; a 3-5-2 and a 4-4-2 have worked for me in the past.

Good point about Norrköping. Might need to find an alternative to Gerson – at least for the first few gameweeks.

I’d consider upgrading Fröling to Kadiri or Van den Hurk to be honest, or of course the opposite down to Moro 😉 Wouldn’t want to rely on More very week though so that’s more for rotation purposes. Käck is good at the start but watch out for Augustinsson who will be pushing hard for that LB spot once he’s moved out from CB - when Eric Berg returns to fitness.

In my most recent draft, I've downgraded Fröling to Baptiste, and a 4-4-2 formation – giving me this team:

            Pettersson
            Wernesson - Ahmedhodzic - Käck - Sandberg
            Tankovic - Kačaniklić - Christiansen - Yusuf
            Kadiri - Kujovic
(Nilsson Kahl - Jansson - Baptiste)

Far from a final draft this; Käck worries me, but he's potentially alright for the first gameweeks? Tankovic being available a little longer makes him more interesting for me, but it comes at the cost of one of the striker spots, meaning I'll have to go for Kadiri or Van den Hurk as my second striker alongside Kujovic. Too heavy in midfield perhaps?

Looks good, though I'm no fan of Kadiri and having to play Yusuf. I'd also go for JVP as a 4.0 defender, with a lot higher chances of playing frequently.

Käck is a great player and was in my team for so long, but my conclusions is that he's to big of a risk to pick. Djurgården have 4 great chances of a clean sheets in the first 6 games, and I don't wanna risk missing out on eighter one of them. Berg is back and ready for the start, so there should be 50/50 for the LB between Käck and Augustinsson. Berg will be rotated but even then, it's not sure Augustinsson will play CB and Käck LB. Augustinsson played a lot in pre-season and impressed, took all set pieces and with him possibly looking abroad because of lack of game time, there's a possibility that Djurgården might play him a lot now to convince him to stay as well.

Kadiri could become Van den Hurk, though I'm not familiar with VdH and don't know what to expect from him. Not settled on Yusuf either, but I have to have some cheap players to make it all a up. The alternative is to downgrade Käck (but to whom?), and upgrade Yusuf.

Either that or take the risk going without Tankovic…

Of course, with Käck now a risky pick, I might have to look at options; a cheaper (starting) defender with decent fixtures might be the way to go.

Usually very hard to get some information from the clubs, but here's a round-up from todays papers, and some thought:

    - Sead Haksabanovic has signed a permanent deal with Norrköping. Still got a difficult schedule, but a great option when the fixtures turn.

    - Tankovic contract expires at the end of july, so he'll be available for about 10-12 games.

    - Simon Sandberg, Magyar and Junior will miss the first game for Hammarby. Söderström likely to replace Sandberg. Those sitting on Sandberg can make an easy switch to Widgren (also 5.5)

    - Aaron Johannsson is a major doubt for the first game. He's been ill for a month, has only had a few training sessions and describes himself as "not in good shape". Manager Billborn hopes he'll be able to start at least one of the first three games.

    - Rikard Norling says youngsters Abraham and Tihi are both close to a starting spot against Örebro, but nothing is decided yet.

    - Mjällby have signed Jonathan Tamimi. He was superb for GIF Sundsvall 2018, but had an average season last year.

    - Erik Berg is expected to start against Sirius, which will probably mean there's only one spot open for Käck and Augustinsson. I think it's unlikely though that Berg will play 3 games in 8 days, so I'd expect him to be rested against Örebro in midweek.

A few starting line-ups have been "leaked" through different medias, like the ones from Göteborg, Hammarby and Malmö. If it's true, the Malmö line-up is the most noticable one, with many suprises. Please not that none of these line-ups are confirmed!

    Hammarby:
    Ousted
    Söderström - Fenger - Fällman - Widgren
    Andersen - Bojanic
    Kacaniklic - A.Khalili - Tankovic
    Paulinho

I suddenly find Khalili a viable option at 7.5, at least short term. With Johannsson on his way back from long term illness, chances should be pretty good for Khalili to start at least 2/3 in the first week.

    Göteborg:
    Anestis
Toko - Da Graca - Calisir - Wernersson
    Erlingmark - Yusuf
    Aiesh - Sana - Khariashvili
    Söder

Toko at 5.0 an intresting choice short term. Both Söder and Khariashvili looks fit for the start, but can they really play 3 games in 8 days just coming back from injury?

    Malmö:
    Dahlin
    Larsson - Ahmedhodzic - Nielsen - Knudsen
    Lewicki - AC - Bachirou
    Prica - Antonsson - Molins

If this is true, then Tim Prica at 4.5 looks very interesting, but do you dare to put him in you starting XI? He's supposed to be in good form, but it could also just be a way for Malmö to convince him to sign a new contract, and snub a move to Rosenberg.

Wow thanks for this! Very valuable information. Saw the Hammarby lineup earlier but as you point out, nothing is verified though it does seem likely that Jóhannsson misses out in the first GW. Söder fit is very interesting to me, will see if it fits in with the overall plan! Thoughts on Söder vs Kujovic?

      1. Bob Sacamano

Söder still not an option to me, but thats partly due to your comments about him not being able to play 2-3 games a week because of his injury record. Just coming back from another injury doesn't make it more convinving for me. I'll probably go for Kujovic.

Still got some dilemmas left. I could get Paulinho in for Kujovic, but will Paulinho start every game?

I'm looking at Khalili instead of Max Svensson now. In that case, my options are Khalili + Irandust or Tankovic + Isak Jansson. Any thoughts?

I'm also not completly set on my defence yet. The potential rotation risk on Käck is really bothering me, so I'm concidering Vaiho instead, to have a safe defensiv option from Djurgården. To afford Khalili/Paulinho I'd have to downgrade Käck to Calisir, meaning I'll only have one wingback in my squad. Could possible go for Knudsen, should be a clean sheet but after that, a major rotation risk with poor schedule.

Khalil is a monster of a player on this level.
Trouble is not having seen Hammarby playing at all this pre season. As his work capacity is so great I'm not so sure about how forward he'll be playing.
I could very well end up with a triple from Hammarby in midfield

        Thanks, that's good to hear!

I honestly havn't seen him play once since the 2015 u21 Euros, and back then I didn't rate him at all, so my image of him is probably far from reality. I do get the impression of him being more of a hard worker, but perhaps that could be a good thing, being able to fill in a CM as well? Looks like he'll start in the number 10 role, and playing there in a team like Hammarby, chances of attacking returns should be good for any player.

This is hopefully my final dilemma, and it comes down to:
        Wernersson + Max Svensson
        Calisir + Khalili

Wernersson obviously more attacking than Calisir, but could be on his way to leave. Max Svensson probably more attacking and more nailed than Khalili, but plays for a team that scores a lot fewer goals. Good things is, if I go for Khalili I could always downgrade to Svensson, and I'd love a Hammarby attacking doubble-up.

Hi guys, first year for me limited knowledge on this league, fairly set on my team for now, only unsure about my forward line and wether to go Irandust/Larsson in MF, any pointers be much appreciated

    Hägg
    Käck Ahmedhodzic Krogh Andersson
    Kack Rieks Svensson irandust
    Kujovic Kadiri

    Jóhannsson Moro Kahl Jansson

      Great to have you here!

Overall, the team looks solid and well balanced. Kadiri is a great talent, but I'm a bit sceptical to spending 7.0 on a 20 year old with only about 500 minutes of experience from allsvenskan, playing for a rather chaotic bottom team with financial problems who might be looking to sell in order so save theire economy. A downgrade of Kadiri to a 6.0 striker, or even a 4.5 fodder, would allow you to upgrade Hägg to a premium keeper (Anestis, Abrahamsson, Vaiho) and Rieks to AC. According to reports, Rieks will not start the first game against Mjällby, and given the squad depth of Malmö, he'll always be a rotation threat.

      Best of luck!

    Best captaincy pick?

Best team I've seen so far, but that's probably because it's identical to mine, at least that was until last night when I made some swaps. I brought in Khalili for Max Svensson and downgraded Käck to Calisir and got Vaiho instead of Anestis. I don't wanna risk missing out on Djurgården clean sheets, and Käck still feels like a rotation risk.

Best captains pick? Probably flip a coin between AC and Kacaniklic, but I'm going for Kacaniklic. Will be most captained, and we all know what we're gonna get from Hammarby. Malmö feels a bit more uncertain at the moment.

Ideally I’d like to find a way to upgrade Käck to Witry - That could be Kujovic to Holmberg.

I think Käck & Witry have so much more to offer at the price point than Vaiho, but I Guess you do want to at least lock in those CS points. Ring is also nice value, but he could be switched out as I’m not settled on him.

I’m looking at AC at the moment for the fixture. Hammarby often struggle v ÖFK, but times have changed for ÖFK - as seen in this very fixture last May.

        1. Bob Sacamano

If that's the decision, I'd rather stick with Kujovic, he's at a different level than Holmberg. I completely agree that there's a lot of value in Witry and Käck given theire attacking threat and bonus potential, Vaiho can't make up for that. The uncertainty about Käck is just to big for me to go for him, as I don't wanna risk missing out on any clean sheets. The goal keeper selection was between Anestis and Vaiho, and they are more similar IMO.

Any thoughts on Max Svensson vs. Abbe Khalili? Svensson probably the more safe pick, it's just that Helsingborg are such an awful team, while Hammarby can score 3-4 goals against pretty much any team in the league. Got Khalili right now but that can still change back to Svensson.

I think you’ve covered the whole discussion on Svensson v Khalili right there in that short statement.

Nailed & shoots from everywhere but in a poor team v attacking option in a team that should score for fun but uncertainty.

I quite like the fixtures for Svensson though - if ever you’d want to own him, it’s for these openers. It’s an easy switch if it goes wrong.

Thanks for the input! My latest thought is that picking Khalili is me trying to be clever, while picking Max Svensson is me actually being clever. Would love a Hammarby doubble-up against Östersund, but after that? Elfsborg away and then AIK, and that's IF he can nail down a spot. I can't see them scoring 3+ goals in those two games, and even if they do points can come from everywhere - Paulinho, Johansson, Tankovic, Kacaniklic etc. With 5 substitutions and plenty of attacking options, he'll probably get game time every game, but very uncertain about how many minutes.

Max Svensson will be the focal point of the Helsingborg attack, and will probably get more minutes than Khalili. Hopefully he can also benefit from having better players around him this season, like Hurk and Jönsson. I also heard that Svensson took a penalty even though Granqvist was on the pitch, that also sounds promising.

Hi all, ready for another season!

Been tinkering and come up with this option :

    Hagg Johansson

Witry ; Calisir ; Ahmed Hodzic ; Andersson ; JVP

    Kaca ; AC ; Ring

    Paulinho ; Soder

    Johansson, Silverholt, Gigovic, Jansson

Still tempted to go for Johansson instead of Paulinho and upgrade Silverholt to Moro?

Jóhannson apparently a fitness doubt for the first GW and if Hammarby intend to play Paulinho up top (unlike in the cup) that’s a big issue going forward as well.

Tankovic will stay at least July out by the looks of it so a Tank/Kaca double could be very fruitful even with their new price tags 🙂 Something to consider at least.

What's your view on Nalic? Is he set to start?.. Just wondering on the best Malmo options as they didn't really deliver consistency last year.

Nalic presents a big saving on Rieks/AC

According to the leaked lineups Nalic isn’t going to play GW1 which would be a massive pain, if GW only gets the harder games. Malmö rotation is going to be nightmarish until the pace settles down and even then, they have way too deep of a squad to not switch things around if they want to keep everybody happy.

This actually changes everything in my eyes. Him and Jakob Johansson will be first names on their coaches team sheet every single week

How does it change anything? Not sure he's even fit enough to make the squad now, and even if that's the case, I doubt he can count on a starting spot, or have the fitness to play 2-3 games in a week. Calisir was the heart of the defence last season, and Da Graca is a young talent who even played for the swedish national team in january. It wont be easy moving eighter one of them.

Thanks for the great round-up Bob, and also others for the great discussion. I just updated my squad with some new information:

        Hagg - Andersson
        Gerson - Ahmedhodzic - Witry - Da Graca - J V Persson
        Kaca - AC - Levi - Svensson - Ring
        Kujovic - Moro - Abraham

I am pretty happy with my goalkeepers and my defenders, so I don't think I will change them. I don't want to spend too heavy on forwards after experiencing it last year too many times with only 6 points from my goalscorers and no bonus.

I tried to pick as many nailed on players as possible to avoid rotation threat. Happy to hear suggestions.

Very similar to my latest draft. Think too many potential defender points in this game to pass them up, and easier to downgrade if necessary than vice-versa. Still not sure about GBG def, and have A.Khalili over Levi just because Hammarby.

          A late dilemma:

          1. Calisir + Witry or

I'd probably go number 1 - Witry more nailed for this week in my view. Can always downgrade to Kack if need be, and dont see as much potential in upgrading Calisir to Wernersson?

He is, and he's just a placeholder right now.

Wernersson is more attacking I believe, so that's why I'm looking at him as an option instead of Calisir. Calisir is cheaper of course, and will allow me to get Witry – or do an upgrade in midfield.

The upside of having Witry in the team might be enough to sway me for going with option 1 in the end.

Didn't know that, thanks! Had some luck with Sirius players last year, and a decent 5.5 midfielder is worth considering.

He was so close to score, put the ball between the goalies legs but it hit heel-heel and just got stuck

Vecchia is a superb player, his talent is far to great for a club like Sirius, but he's just so injury prone. If he can stay fit, he could very well be a good budget option.

Fitness might be an issue for most players given the break as well. Injury prone or not, he's one to consider I guess.

Agree! That's the biggest reason why I love this game, the live updates on every stat. The fact that you can finish watching a boring game just because you know that one of your players is just one ball recovery away from a defensive bonus point, is simply amazing! This season they've gathered it all in the "point section" as well, which means you don't have to go in to every single player to see theire live stats.

Usually, the updates gets worse as the season goes on, and for the last couple of game weeks it's usually pretty slow compared to now.

Ring still on, Ajdarevic went off with Kujovic.

Unless there's been a third sub?

Ring was in the majority of my drafts, but in the end, I went with Tankovic instead. I haven't put a lot of money in my striker spots, and with Kujović not playing more than 59 minutes, I might have to look at options…

It will be interesting to see which players plays 90 mins or close to it. Can't have a striker that doesn't play a full hour.

What makes it even worse is that Djurgården as a team suddenly looked much better when Kujovic and Ajdarevic came off and Holmberg and Radetinac came on

Uh oh, that doesn't look good for Kujović then…

It sure isn't. Will have to wait and see how the rest of the fixtures plays out, but I wouldn't be surprised if I make a transfer before the next deadline.

In the interest of fairness if you were in a private mini league with monthly cash prizes would you pay out if someone in my league finished 1st despite it only being 1 gameweek??!
