Recapping the best Manchester United players ahead of FPL restart

Our series of team-by-team refresher articles continues with a look at Manchester United, as the clock ticks down on the Fantasy Premier League resumption in June.

Taking data from Gameweeks 24-29 as a jumping-off point for wider discussion, we will be analysing the Red Devils’ prospects for the season run-in and pinpointing the Fantasy assets who could prosper in the remaining nine Gameweeks.

United certainly have one of the more appealing fixture schedules in Gameweeks 30+ to 38+, playing only one of the ‘big six’ and half a dozen of the clubs currently in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

In decent form shortly before coronavirus stopped play, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will also welcome back Marcus Rashford (£8.8m) and Paul Pogba (£8.3m) from injury when we recommence this month.

With this article borrowing heavily from the data available in our Members Area, only subscribers of Fantasy Football Scout can read on.

      Not sure about the GKs.

I'd actually fancy Krul at 4.6m to match or outscore one of them.

I wouldn't be going without Henderson, especially in your position of being able to WC next week.

Leno and reina are better options than the defenders from their respective teams

On the other hand u can find top optionnfrom the shu defence, that are also cheaper than henderson.

I think Guilbert, Mings and Targett are better picks than Reina.

Leno is the least worse defensive Arsenal pick, but don't you think there's more points potential to be had in triple Arsenal attack? I took Leno out today for the same reason.

Henderson is Sheffield's best pick. Highest points ceiling and has quite a few routes of getting points. A luxurious position of unlimited transfers + WC next week would make it risky to go without Henderson for me, especially given how highly he'll be owned.

Hmm with arsenal attack theyre either overpriced (pepe) or unlikely to start imo (saka nkietiah). Auba is the exception obviously

Leno has save points on his side plus a possibility of a cs in the other game , although unlikely

Shu defenders have the tendency to get attacking returns but so hard to correctly call which one so im going with 3 and hoping i catch that haul.

But to each their own lets see which stategy comes out on top.

Triple Arsenal attack is difficult to "get right". Auba is given. Pepe and Lacazette have MCity price level, and therefore you are better off buying MCity premiums instead. Saka is likely to get subbed in, so possibly 1+1 points. Nketiah is a punt, he could get 1+1 or massively haul. There is a lot of more stable SGW forward options for the third forward slot though: Jimenez vs West Ham, Tammy vs Villa, Pukki vs Southampton. Özil therefore seems like a decently priced candidate, but he faces competition from SGW Mount vs Villa, Martial/Gernandes vs woeful Spurs defense, Barnes vs Watford.

Seems to me that Arsenal is more of a SGW team, getting points from the Brighton game and the MCity game is mostly extra +2 points for showing up unless something unexpected happens.

The thing about the Arsenal attack is that they will have 66 hrs between playing City and Brighton. Heavy rotation ahead

First half XI: Leno; Bellerin, Mustafi, Pablo Mari, Tierney; Willock, Ceballos, Saka; Pepe, Nketiah, Aubameyang

Second half XI: Leno; Bellerin, Mustafi, David Luiz, Tierney; Maitland-Niles, Guendouzi, Ozil; Aubameyang, Lacazette, Saka

      Here’s the line ups.

Bit of a mystery....any Arsenal fans want to dissect these formations?

      1. HamezMace
        • 9 Years

Certainly seems Saka was part of a front three in the second half.
He was subbed on the 60th minute for Martinelli so that would make sense, but if he was part of a front three in the first half, where was Pepe playing?

      2. Prøfeßör …

Saka in midfield in the first-half, fairly advanced. And then as a right winger in the second-half up to 60th minute

            3 years, 10 months ago

No, 4-3-3 in both. Saka is number 77. He and Willock fairly advanced, Ceballos further back

The question is, where is Xhaka?

Torn between using BB or FH (still have WC). Edging towards BB as there's probably not going to be a better opportunity to use it, but the FH and holding back the WC until we see which players thrive in a closed-doors environment has its merits too.

Current squad is as follows (GW31+ fixtures in brackets - I'll be able to field a great team):

    McCarthy (ARS)
TAA/VVD (CRY), Boly (BOU), Taylor (WAT), Lascelles (AVL)
Salah (CRY), KDB (Che), Fernandes (SHU), Grealish (New), Saka (Sou)
Vardy (BHA), Jimenez (BOU), Ings (ARS)

    A: BB
    or
    B: FH?

There's also an option to BB30, FH31 to avoid WC31, then WC32. If you want to completely rebuild your team 3 weeks in a row...you can!

Nketiah rather than Ayew? Has explosion potential.

Had Nketiah but not convinced he will play much, so swapped for Ayew

Here is my new BB team:

    Henderson, Leno
    Egan, TAA, Ake, O’Connell, Fernandez
Sterling, KDB, Grealish, Douglas Luiz, Cantwell
    Auba, Aguero, Samatta

    0.4m

It is those last few spots i am finding tough. Douglas Luiz is kid of there for the 4 points but is only 4.4m.

I fancy Ake as a punt as they are facing Palace at home and need a result. He also has some goal threat like at corners.

    Any good?

On a free hit with the following (8/11 DGW), what’re your thoughts?

    Leno (Button)
    Stevens Egan Lundstram (3.9) (3.9)
Mane KDB (c) Fernandes Grealish (4.2)
    Auba Kun Pukki

Good team, yet for FH I would consider more DGW players than 8

Yeah free hit go all in
Pukki one game one goal score without bonus
Is two appearances for say samatta or mcburnie etc
Let alone potential of putting mane money into city Midfield

Bruno will 99.9% take pens from restart, he has a much higher success rate than the others which will give him more confidence. Bruno will now become set and only pk taker when he is on the pitch

So everyone seems to overlook Salah ... I'm not keen on selling him, I'd lose 0.3 if I had to bring him back

He’s a big reason for my free hit
The palace home game following he could go crazy in
That’ll be an awkward watch if you don’t own him
And yes very difficult to buy bsck
