Recapping the best Norwich players ahead of FPL restart

The Fantasy Premier League assets at Norwich are likely to be few and far between for the remainder of 2019/20 – but there is still plenty about their squad that FPL managers should be aware of.

We are currently recapping which players went into the coronavirus (COVID-19) suspension in the best form, using each club’s last six matches for the analysis.

We have also been assessing the impact of recently appointed new managers in the Premier League, so this series covers the other 15 sides, continuing with Norwich.

As we are sure you understand, a lot has changed since the climax of Gameweek 29, with Premier League players unable to fully train with their team-mates for nearly three months.

However, it should still serve to know who was performing best before the break.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those signed up to a valid package can access it in full.

        I think that's what I mean.

I want to set up my for GW31 onwards with the free transfers, then specifically use free hit to set it up for GW30.

Not really. FPL have given us unlimited transfers, they didn’t have to do anything.

There is a HT on the unlimited transfers/FH thing if you want more clarity on it.

My heart says get Sterling but my head says not to - what to do?! Given the uncertainty around City’s midfield and Sterling’s form before the things stopped, is he worth the risk and the money for BB, especially when there are single gameweek players that are cheaper, should play and that have decent fixtures - eg Vardy and Jimenez

How severe do you expect squad rotation to be?

Does this put extra weight behind the talisman theory, for example, should we expect Grealish to start every game?

Should we avoid players who play in more demanding positions, for example going with VvD over Trent or Robertson?

      2nd question if I’m allowed,

Are you avoiding players from teams who have nothing to play for, Everton and Burnley for example. Are they ‘on the beach’ already, or will this relaxed, empty stadium era create some unusually entertaining 4-4 draws from those teams.

Are we overlooked Chelsea players away to Villa?

The likes of Tammy, Alonso and Mount could score big considering Villa have to go for it and they’ll already have some “battle scars” from the Sheffield Utd game 4 day’s prior

I hear a lot of people saying liverpool are going to take their foot off the gas when the title is wrapped up. I'm interested to hear the panels thoughts as whether this will be the case and if it will affect popular picks such as TAA, Mane + Salah....

With some exciting upper tier mids, is it time to ditch Liverpool attack? You could have Son and Bruno, for example, for the same price as Salah/Mane and a 5/6 million mid

Does anyone of FFS scoutcast team think that FH is better than BB in GW30+ even if he have WC?
Would be nice to talk a bit more about that strategy as surprisingly there is a conviction that its bad idea.

First of all a "waste" of unlimited transfers is same as "waste" of WC in GW31+ imo. Just because we have UT doesnt mean it give us any points. Main and fundamental think is how our team looks atm. If its a mess than probably using UT is better idea, sure but if a team looks strong and ready for GW31+ why destroying it and loose value too?? (2.2 mil more to have my team back which means..I could not afford it).
Also if your team (like mine) is ready to BB anytime than you can easy BB in 31+ or later and than WC when you really need it not because you made a mess using those UL (on BB most people will have 0 or max 1 DGW player so its not big advantage). If you think its not important to keep your WC bit longer than keeping FH is even less important.
Next factor is uncertainty as its first GW after long time so we dont know who will play, who is nailed etc so imagine non starters on your BB. You can wait and play BB later with more data.
So no, I dont think BB in GW 30+ is so obvious.

Plus on FH in DGW you can pump more money into it which is also a big factor imo which makes your team a bit different than all those templete teams.

Can you tell us the official premier league position on what happens if a player tests COVID19 positive? Do teammates have to quarantine? What if several players on one team get infected? Is there any possibility that this will postpone games going forward, or will games definitely continue with just those affected players excluded?

With the huge break form FPL and the excitement of the Double GWK are people not thinking straight going with 12 Double GWK players. Have we no learned form previous years to gung ho does not work most of the time and single GWK players can come out better than majority of Double GWK players?

Is it safer to got with a handful of DGWK and have the rest of the squad balanced.
It is easier if you have a 2nd WC but Villa and Sheff Utd are not the most exciting players to have in general anyway. Arsenal and Cioty can be a bit unpredictable too.

Strange question, but hear me out:

Everyone seems to be assuming that you must use a chip this week. Is that really true? If you have a second wildcard, it seems you can create a “pseudo” free hit team for GW 30 using your unlimited transfers. Then you can wildcard out of it in 31.

Essentially you are FHing in 30 without playing the chip (you could lose TV though, but I think that’s overrated at this stage of the season). Then you can play your BB and FH (if you still have them) later, perhaps in 37 and 38.

It strikes me that you don’t gain that much with a BB here vs. another week. There just aren’t enough DGW players.

Former FFScout hall of fame number 1 Jay Egersdorf has said... " I'm going FH as I’ve still got BB and WC2 left and don’t want to lose the value I have tied up in the likes of Mane, Salah, Bruno, DCL, Jiminez etc just yet."

Do we need to challenge the bench boost then wildcard groupthink?

FH when you have unlimited transfers is bonkers whichever way you cut it.

Keeping players because they had a decent season before COVID-19 is akin to starting 2019-20 with someone that did well in 2018-19. It’s going to be carnage due to teams being able to throw on 5 substitutes.

Many successful FPL players advocate FH in GW38. They’re throwing that option away this week needlessly.

I don’t think it’s bonkers at all, especially if you don’t plan to make many (or any) changes to your team with unlimited transfers.

Plus, the FH allows you to get the 11 very best options in a DGW, while filling the bench with a bunch of 4.0 players. Good luck getting Kun, Auba, KDB, sterling and Pepe in a decent BB team.

Also, in my case, I would need to sacrifice .9 of TV if I BB. This isn’t the end of the world, but I’m not sure it’s optimal.

What players do you pick on free transfers if not basing it on form prior to break then!? I have Pope, triple pool, Jimenez, DCL, Barnes, Bruno and I’d likely lose majority of them to get in double gw players who I don’t want long term so FH looks good for me. I also want son and maybe rashford but can wait a week and use a FT or take a hit depending on spurs Man U game

What lessons can we learn from other project restarts? Particularly the Bundesliga, one of the most similar leagues to the Prem

      For example:
      - “Home” v “Away”
      - Average goals scored compared to pre-lockdown
      - Big teams v relegation candidates

        Which two players?
Are they both from the same team?
Does the one with higher BPS but lower actual bonus points in total also have higher BPS but lower actual bonus points per match?
If so then it could mean that he's less explosive, so he consistently just misses the bonus points while the other gets them in a good week but is way short in a bad one.

Baldock needs goals or assists to get bonus points. He only received bonus points 3 times, but on 2 of these occasions he got the maximum 3.
Stevens has a higher baseline bonus and therefore a greater BPS total. He received 1 or 2 bonus points 6 times, twice when he got a goal or assist, 3 times when he got a clean sheet, and once when he got neither.

Stevens has 8 bonus points and 498 BPS.
Baldock has 7 bonus points and 456 BPS.
So Stevens is actually ahead of Baldock on both bonus points and BPS.
They are both equally good options in my opinion.

McGinn or El Ghazi (as a second Villa midfielder in addition to Grealish)?
If playing a Free Hit, play El Ghazi/McGinn in a 3-5-2 (benching Abraham), or Abraham in a 3-4-3 (benching El Ghazi/McGinn)?
And would it be better to play Targett (benching Alonso) or to play Alonso (benching Targett)?

Think that's the best one I've seen on here!

Can easily move them on then for Kane when he starts banging in goals.
Think you're covered on Man Utd this week with Bruno, so would do Rash to either Auba or Kun.
Then could do either jimi or Tammy to Rash and Auba / Kun to Kane when the time is right.

I only ask because seemingly he lost his place to Nketiah before lockdown.
Nketiah started three PL games in a row, with Lacazette on the bench (he came off the bench in the last few minutes in two of those games, so he wasn’t injured)
Nketiah also started ahead of Lacazette in the last friendly they played two days ago.

Wouldnt touch either. The only arsenal player im happy about is Leno. Probably will take Aubameyang too but not happy paying that much money for a striker with 2 games in less than 3 days, one of which is against city. Players like Vardy and Jimi are decent options with reasonable fixtures and prices.
