Win a year’s membership by joining our FPL mini-league and raise money for the NHS

We have launched a new Fantasy Premier League classic mini-league to mark the resumption of the 2019/20 season, with scoring starting from Gameweek 30+.

Whether you’re currently ranked first in the world or closer to the seven-million mark, everyone is in with a chance of winning as all entrants start from zero.

Head to the FPL site via this link and use the code ‘i3lxye’ to sign up (full details are towards the bottom of this piece).

There’s not only pride at stake in this mini-league but the carrot of free annual memberships to the managers who finish in the top five places.

Don’t worry if you’re already subscribed for 2020/21 – we’ll refund your payment if your finish qualifies you for this prize.

Our new end-of-season mini-league is called the ‘The FFScout Charity Shield‘ and we’re also using this opportunity to try and raise money for the NHS.

We usually offer Amazon vouchers to those finishing in the podium places of our Fantasy Football Scout and Fantasy Football Scout Members leagues, and that remains the case in this stop-start season.

For ‘The FFScout Charity Shield’, we at Fantasy Football Scout are pledging the cash equivalent – £300 – to NHS Charities Together.

The selfless work that our National Health Service key workers carry out on a daily basis has been brought into sharp focus over the last three months.

We’re honoured to be donating money to such a worthwhile cause and we’re inviting you to do the same via our JustGiving page.

We should stress that a donation is not mandatory and anyone can enter ‘The FFScout Charity Shield’ whether they are able to make a financial contribution or not; we fully appreciate that these are tough, unprecedented times and some of you will perhaps not be in a position to do so.

If you are able to spare a bob or two, however, then you can do so by clicking on the below link.

Many thanks to anyone who donates to the fund and good luck for the rest of the season.

Anyone think City will end up with a lot of clean sheets away from home? Can see teams struggling to attack without the crowd urging them on. More contain and stifle.

Yes but rotation is the problem. We can't be sure about Laporte yet and everyone else gets rotated for sure. Ederson is good but 6.0 is a lot for keeper when there are keepers like Pope available

City are always leaky with that defence and a error prone Ederson.

Only Burnley (11) and Liverpool (12) have kept more clean sheets than City (10)...

They've made 5 errors which led to goals in 28 games this season (Liverpool have made 3, Burnley have made 7)...

And that's been without Laporte & a DM playing Centre half

Still reckon their summer transfer window lost them any chance they had at challenging for the league - add a Koulibaly/Skriniar/DeVries/Varane into that squad & they would have substantially more points I think - trying to play that season with only 3 actual centrebacks & a 35 year old stopgap DM-come-CD was mental

I am seriously considering Ederson for rest of the season.
He's overpriced yes, but can get 5/6 CS's easily looking at fixtures panned out.

Surprised you are asking in that straight forward way. Ozil if you have the money. Do you think Saka will start both?

I can afford Ozil, yes! He has the max minutes under Arteta reign with Leno.
I am not sure on Saka playing both. What do you reckon?

I have got Saka for his price mainly but also have heard doubt about his minutes. Who would you start?
          Saka, Lascelles, Cantwell?

Lascelles only for the sure 90 mins. But Saka makes a strong case too . He was in top form pre Covid

I think Aguero will get 90 mins over two games. 60 then 30.

Jesus is way too important to Pep’s UCL plans not to get significant minutes in the restart, and Aguero’s injury record isn’t exactly inspiring

    Hi All,

    Long time no see. 😀

This is my team, have done very little research, any ideas welcome. No chip left except BB, which is currently active.

    Pope Hendo
    TAA Laporte Doherty Egan Lascalles
    Mane Bruno KDB Fleck Guendouzi
    Kun Jimenez Nketiah

Please, anyone to scrutinize this team? Don't have loads of time to do research. Thanks.

    1. Vazza
      • 1 Year

Guendouzi is unlikely to score many points so downgrade one of your other players to upgrade him perhaps?

      1. ZeBestee
        • 7 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

        thanks mate.

Whom is worthy a downgrade here? Given that I don't have WC left, I thought maybe I take a risk and just do him. He is young and may get minutes here and there. But yeah it is not a good choice.

        1. Vazza
          • 1 Year

Downgrading Doherty to Saiss and upgrading Guendouzi to Mount might work.

Please do bear in mind that Doherty could score big in any game week though..

Midfield and attack is too weak for 31+ on. I would reduce the spend on defenders and make some attacking upgrades.

Would it be silly to pick Grealish AND McGinn in a FH team for GW30+ ?

    1. Jusagoras
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 5 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

Not silly as such, but depends on whether there are better options available in place of either. Will McGinn score more points than Mount or Sarr for instance?

      1. Vazza
        • 1 Year
        1 year, 3 months ago

In my opinion, I think some of us are underestimating the power of a DGW. If AVL concede a lot of goals in both games but Grealish/McGinn play >60 mins in each game, they would score 4 points. So in my mind, that is the starting score and has a potential to increase over TWO games depending on their respective performances. It might turn out to be a naive approach but based on probabilities, this seems so logical.

There's points in this team for GW30+ for sure.

I have WC also, i spent so much time planning before covid for my plans to be scuppered so i'm mostly taking each GW as it comes and trying to max out as many pts this week as possible with a few options for the coming GW's. Want to see some action first, difficult to say what to do when no team/player has any form etc.

Morning - thoughts on this team for BB this week. Still have all my chips so plan WC the following week.

    Leno, Henderson
    TAA, Laporte. Stevens, Lascelles, Targett
    KDB, Grealish, Saka, Fleck, Sarr
    Aguero, Auba, Jimenez

    0.4ITB

      Saka >> Cantwell?
      Lascelles >> Fernandez / Saiss?

    Hello guys,

    Any help appreciated:

With my 2nd WC, FH and BB remaining, would you suggest...

    A) GW30+ FH and carry on current team as long as i'm happy, using WC and BB later on

    B) GW30+ Unlimited Transfers and BB, GW31+ FH and GW32/33+ WC

    C) GW30+ Unlimited Transfers and BB, GW31+ WC and use FH in a GW where i feel my team is very weak (potentially GW32)

Leaning towards A)... My current team:

    Pope
    Saiss TAA Robbo
    Mane KDB Fernandes Sarr
    Vardy DCL Jimenez

    McCarthy Lascelles Dendoncker Williams

I'm going A. Got loads of value tied up in Salah, Mane and others which I can use effectively on a WC next GW rather than waste TV on a DGW.

Same with me, a lot of value tied up on TAA, Vardy and Jimenez which aren't part of my FH squad...

Main thing for me is that i don't want to waste team value yet, and my WC for GW31 would be very similar to my team probably only changing Williams -> Holgate, Saiss -> Boly, Dendoncker -> Cantwell, Vardy -> Rashford / Abraham

So in theory if i'm lucky with injuries and suspensions i could even move to this team and activate the BB without WC in previous GW

For those playing FH this week (to preserve team value in my case). Are you going for cheap bench fodder or setting up with almost a BB team given we don't know what 1st 11 is likely to look like for any team.

I had a decent budget remaining so have Foster, Boly, Cantwell and Lascelles on the bench.

Have to make do with fodder if I want a decent team with Auba, Kun, Sterling and KDB... and I'm committed so far.

I'm going bench fodder for the GK and one defender only. Will have two cheapish likely starters as the other two subs so kinda in between to cover any surprise omissions.

    A) Martial + 0.5m
    B) Bruno

With no second WC, that 0.5m would be very useful...

      Bruno is a beast.
      Just get him.

Still haven't decided between Aguero / De Bruyne myself. Wouldn't pick Aubameyang ahead of either of them though.

I think people are overlooking Ederson. Mahrez has high ceiling but could get 2 points combined. So many options for city in midfield

Yea due to the options in mid only avoid himm i am still confused to select sterling vs mahrez. Same for pepe also

BB team for WC31.. struggling to get Auba in without fielding a completely trash midfield. Gives me 11 DGW players with only 2 from Villa.

    Hendo - Leno
    OConnel - Lundy/Egan - TAA - Doherty -Alonso
    KdB - Sterling - Grealish - El.Ghazi - Saka
    Aguero - Jimenez - Nketiah

I worry that both your arsenal players may play very few minutes. If you are only hoping for 5 points between them and it's worth the risk then go for it. But bench boost chip, I want almost all 15 nailed players

Thanks. I realise Saka and Nketiah may not get many minutes. I'm anticipating that with the closeness of Arsenals games, that they may get one game each, which at 4.7m and 4.4m is okay as enablers, and if they get the Brighton game it could pay off. I can't see anyone else at Arsenal worth having except Auba and Pepe. Auba is hard to fit in.

I could swap Sterling and Saka for Pepe and Mahrez but not sure if that's any better.

Sorry wrong calculation. I can't make the Sterling/Saka to Pepe/Mahrez swap, without also downgrading Alonso so forget that.
