    Thoughts on this WC squad?

    Pope/Button
    TAA/Jack Robinson/Aurier/Doherty/Boly

I don't think you need double Wolves D, I'd go for somebody instead of Boly who rotates well with the rest of your squad.

First WC draft. Any changes? Really would like to do Saiss to Doherty, but have only 0.5ITB.
Jota could be also DCL or Barnes.

    Foster - Button
    TAA - Saiss - AWB - Lundstram - Lascelles
    Mane - KdB - Son - Bruno - Cantwell
    Jota - Jimi - Rashford

Should feel better than Sterling captainers. Aguero will get another 75+ minutes while I doubt Sterling will get any minutes vs Burnley.

As a Sterling captainer, if I had the option, I'd definitely switch to Aguero without a doubt.

    City have

    Thursday Chelsea(a)
    FA CUP
    Thursday liv(h)
    Sunday sou(a)
    Wednesday newc(h)

Think im going to go without kdb on wc for the next 3. Very low TV and purchased price is 10.6.

Got to take a gamble. Chelsea and pool shd be tough and decent chance of a rest vs either sou or newcastle. Could get him back for newc is he is benched vs sou

The lesson I take away is that with injury and rotation if you are on a wildcard get yourself a full playing bench maybe even a second keeper

      this

But an argument against that is with 5 subs your first 11 are almost guaranteed to get cameo appearances even if they don't start the game, so there's no point have a strong bench

          3 years, 10 months ago

I mean you still have gameweeks between games even if the deadline is short to take out injured players. Think personally i'm going to try go with one strong sub and a couple fodder 2 point merchants and pump the funds into the first 11

    3. Rover
      • 7 Years
      3 years, 10 months ago

I am planning to scrimp heavily on the bench.
3.9m keeper, 3.9m defender, cheapest starting defender (so max 4.3m), cheap attacker who will get subs (Nketiah/Greenwood/McCarthy up to 4.4m)

So 16.5m on the bench and the rest invested in starting XI. In the event of an unexpected injury there is still 1, likely 2, subs who can come on. And in the event of a known injury, then make the transfer to replace them, even if it is a hit.

Having no hits doesn't make u a better player at the end of the day, its just whichever way will get u the most points. if someone else has taken over 100 points worth of hits and is above you then some would say that's more impressive, all opinion rly. But yeh 17k is impressive

      Is 17k impressive, yes.
Is it more impressive with no hits, no.
I'd argue that it would be more impressive if you have taken a lot of hits, given that most would say hits are detrimental to OR.

Its just that I think its the last game that Liverpool scores big.. Then you can get a lot of points with Spurs, Wolves, maybe UTD.. Looks tasty.. Then after this gameweek make a more balanced wildcard, and we would know more about all teams

It's hard to say what your best strategy is without seeing your team. What I will say is if your team value isnt great, Free hitting this week will mean you pay more for several players that presumably are not in your team atm. Utd, spurs, wolves players etc will all soar in price before GW33 starts

I think Werner will be an explosive striker for Chelski next season and will be available at around 8.5 to 9.5 million. Fair assumption? However, I am most looking forward to seeing Ziyech, who could be put in at an affordable price of around 7.5-8.0 million.

Used my FH for this week. Maybe starting to regret not using my BB instead. I don't have a WC so still have this BB chip and a pretty weak bench.

Does anyone in the same boat know how/when they will use the BB chip?

    Which duo is better?

    A) Bruno Rashford
    B) Bruno Martial

Martial plays up top and classified as a midfielder. Also cheaper than Rashford. He is a bit injury prone and not as consistent as Rashford hough

B for me, your perfect midfield is Son, Bruno, KDB, Salah and a cheapie

So you pick B and then go without Martial?

This is basically who is better, Rashford or Martial, ignoring value. Im surprised people are saying Martial.
I'm 90% certain that Rashford will outscore Tony M easily in the run in.

Ups, I was obviously thinking A.
Two reasons: Rash will oitscore him and no space in the midfield for a second United player

A for me. Not really founded but I never feel confident watching Martial.

Martial is made of glass. Great when he's fit, but be prepared to transfer him out at any given moment

It's close but Rashford minutes might be limited in the first few games and he is probably no longer on penalties so probably B.

First WC draft, think i’m just gonna leave it like this. Any thoughts or help would be much appriciated.

    Pope
    TAA, Maguire, Doherty,
    KDB, Son, Salah, B. Fernandez,
    Rashford, Jimenez, DCL,

    Martin, Saka, Lascelles, Cathcart,

I could switch Saka for Cantwell, what Do you think lads?

I can't afford this so pretty jealous.

Got barnes/Nketiah instead of saka/DCL. Think yours is better.

See if Saka starts on weekend before making that decision I guess, but I think I prefer him to Cantwell.

Yeah, i was a bit surprised that i could afford this team.
Artera seems to like Saka and they got nice fixturens. Norwich is only a couple of gameweeks away from the beach so i think i’m gonna stick to Saka.
        Thanks for your input!

Nice team, similar to mine, but you have more TV it seems.

I'm going same back line (with Taylor for Cathcart)
      and Foden/Nketiah for your Saka/DCL.

So a 3-5-2, or 4-4-2 depending on GW.

That seems like a Good plan. I think Nketiah could be a masterstroke, leaves you a lot of money itb to upgrade elsewhere and i can see him pitch in with i couple of goals during the run in!

Yep I like it, I'm tempted to go Nketiah in a 3-5-2 with a 6.x mid like Sarr.

I see your point, i really like Sarr and Watford is gonna fight to avoid relegetion until the bitter end.

    A or B better on a WC?

    A) Boly, Cantwell, Rashford
    B) Saiss, Barnes, Abraham

Those of you who don't like changing goal keeper position much..whom would you go for out of for the rest of season -
    1. D'Gea
    2. Henderson
    3. Patricio
    4. Leno

Not to be funny, and I know there will be rotation going forward, but are we hyping it up too much?

For the smaller teams, without the squad depth its maybe more an issue, but the current fixture run isn't really that different from teams playing in Europe at the start of the season, its a game every weekend, followed by a midweek, and another game at the weekend, similar to what they'd be expected to do for Europe.

Like I mentioned, the teams in europe generally have more squad depth, so should this be a major factor for them?

Most likely impacted will be teams will smaller squads.

I think yesterday showed us that players are not up to peak fitness, plenty of injuries knocking about.

That would be my main concern about a weak bench rather than rotation.

You can get two very decent bench defenders for 4.3 and under right now. People like Lascelles very playable.

I would counter this though, and say that the injuries weren't really muscular.
The 2 arsenal ones were knocks, and Ederson just decided to attempt a decapitation on his CB.

We'll have to wait and see, I'm just pointing out that the fixture run, is pretty much what all the teams in europe have to deal with for the months of Septemer/October/November, playing an extra game every midweek

Teams in Europa League prioritizes league so rotation isn't as much an issue with fpl.

With teams in CL, while they still play midweek, you get to see the players who play/get rested midweek and take action in your fpl squad based on that. You don't have that luxury in this situation, this is more like the Christmas period. So it makes sense to go with the most nailed players.

When would be the best time to play Bench Boost? I’m concerned that on the last day of the season, it would be difficult to predict line ups and field 15 players..

you just missed the boat by about 24 hours.. going forward its just whenever you have the best bench for any given gameweek, there most likely wont be any more doubles.

Thoughts on this Wildcard draft? I've gone cheap in defence, was considering Nketiah instead of DCL and upgrading two of them.

    Pope, 3.9
    Gomez, Saiss, Holgate, Lascelles, Justin,
Mane (C), KDB, Pogba, Son, Duda
    Rashford, Jimenez, DCL

For those that still have your free hit intact, when do you intend to use it? I'm planning to use mine in 38 and go all in on the teams that still have something to play for or players chasing the golden boot.
