How will new positions at Man United affect their FPL assets in 2020/21?

Fantasy Premier League managers will have to entirely re-think how best to invest in Manchester United’s attack for the 2020/21 season.

The game-makers at FPL Towers have wielded their position-changing axe and reclassified no fewer than three key Red Devil assets for the new campaign.

Marcus Rashford (£9.5m) and Mason Greenwood (£7.5m) have been converted into midfielders to reflect their roles on the flanks of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking midfield trio, while Anthony Martial (£9.0m) has moved into the forwards bracket.

Fernandes haul raises the bar for top 10k's most popular captain Salah

These changes are sure to impact squad selection for the new season, but could also affect the appeal of Bruno Fernandes (£10.5m) who has remained a midfielder.

To fully assess which of the Manchester United attackers appeal the most for 2020/21, we have pulled out some key statistics from Project Restart, the only time that Fernandes, Rashford, Greenwood and Martial started matches consistently at the same time.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

Which United attacker was in the penalty box most often?

Man City can easily play their GW1 fixture in the midweek of GW1 if they're scheduled to play LIV/CHE/LEI/ARS or MUN (if they lose tom) as those teams won't have an EFL Cup Rd 2 tie or a Europa League qualifier in that midweek.

I have Limitless... I will probably just use that. Then use xfers to make a team for the final.

Kind of got lucky that there is only 1 round of fixtures for the semis.

            Tbf we get the following:

            Lew Neymar Mbappe
            Di Maria Gnabry
            Kimmich Bernat Kehrer Davies
            Neuer Navas

The only problem is, the teams will be so template.

What’s the max number of players from one team in the semis?

A quick look at the stats tells me that no goalkeeper made more errors in the PL last season than Ederson?

    1. Greek Freak

      Thought it was Dubravka.

    2. goriuanx

      Definitely DDG or Pickford.

They both have more errors leading to goals. But if you add in errors leading to chances then Ederson is level with Pickford as having made the most total errors.

      2. Greek Freak
        • 8 Years
        3 years, 7 months ago

Just double-checked, it is indeed Dubravka. That's errors leading to goals in all competitions, with 5.

        Then Adrian 4.
McCarthy, DDG, Pickford and Ederson 3.

That's errors leading to goals only. Add in errors leading to chances too.

          1. Greek Freak
            • 8 Years
            3 years, 7 months ago

Fair enough. And that stat is a bit misleading, in that Newcastle spend a lot more time defending in their own box, thus making Dubravka have to do a lot more.

            1. Third Eye Vision
              • 11 Years
              3 years, 7 months ago

I wouldn’t say it’s misleading. Newcastle & Everton seem a very comparable pair of teams based on last season’s performances.

Pickford & De Gea face well more criticism from pundits and fans than other goalkeepers in the league. It’s really over the top.

              1. Greek Freak
                • 8 Years
                3 years, 7 months ago

It's misleading in that Newcastle concede a lot more chances than City do, thus giving Dubravka many more opportunities to commit errors.

I'd be interested to see stats for errors per chance faced - I bet Dubravka wouldn't be near the top there.

RM really? I'd be surprised if any La Liga team wins a CL in the next 3 seasons. Bayern probably.

CL isn't anyone's property anymore. RM Barca looking bad.

Bayern only team looking like can dominate for some time coming & they won't splash so much cash kn him

RM have the young players, couple of smart signings and they will be a force to be reckoned with again.
Barca on the other hand are an absolute mess:
          1. Internal politics,
          2. Aging squad bereft of quality players except Messi
          3. Worst recruitment in thr last 3-5 years of any top club
          4. Broke AF

Such a great player. Needs to move to a big club now to win the trophies he deserves.

Is KDB and Foden double up worth it?

Without Dilva and Sane in the picture is Foden worth a punt at 6.5m?

Foden didn't start tonight, even without Silva and Sane playing.

Do you think this result changes Pep's thinking? He needs more attacking player on the pitch simply because he has a leaky defence. If anything, I think this result is good for Foden/Mahrez's PL prospects

No. He played overly cautious against a team that's gone further in the CL than any PL side. He'll be more attacking in every PL game (except possibly v Liverpool).

Not sure. Wouldn't like to take that gamble personally.

There's unnecessary risk with Foden. Would rather wait, and bring him in when he looks secure.

If there is one risk to take, it's going to be Foden in that price bracket for me. Those who get him are not casuals and should expect Pep roulette. So his price shouldn't drop after two weeks. He is easy to transfer out if needed but upgrading Soucek(?) to Foden means two transfers.

He didn't play because Pep thought he need more ball passing mids and went with 3 and forced KDB on the wing.

No chance that happens in the PL, unless is Liverpool or so.

        He is stil good value.

He played the last CL game from the start.

With easier opponents when they need goals I expect Foden to be highly involved

To those crying about City loss let's face the reality. The only English team that knew how to play in Europe consistently is Chelsea.

    Titles and finals everywhere.

All the others were either loosing all the time or having a one season wonder.

Strong Chelsea means strong in Europe for English clubs.

    Simple as that.

Hate it or like it, those are the facts.
    Cheers.

Nobody here is crying about City's loss, most of FFS is celebrating! If City or Liverpool had Chelsea's 2012 luck then they'd have won back-to-back Champions Leagues.

I've been a member on FFS ever since it started. 12.50 sounded rather cheap. 17.50 sounds a bit pricey. First time that I'm actually contemplating not buying the membership. But I'm a slave to stats, so even if it was 30 quid I think I would end up buying it eventually!

Not sure why I'm sharing this info though...
